It Takes A Killer To Know A Killer Putin Lashed Biden Back

Russia’s President, Vladmir Putin has reacted to US President Joe Biden calling him a killer and saying that he would “pay a price” for 2020 US election interference.

When asked about Biden’s comments during a video call on Thursday March 18, that was aired on Russian state TV, Putin said he wished his counterpart in Washington good health and was saying that “without irony”, but charged that the comments reflected America’s own troubled past.

The Russian leader who praised the American people, said the legacy of slavery and the country’s treatment of Native Americans weighed heavily on its dealings abroad. He added that for Biden to call him a killer, it takes one to know one.

Putin said;

“In the history of every people, every state, there are a lot of hard, dramatic and bloody events. But when we evaluate other people or even other governments, we always look as if into the mirror. We always see ourselves in it.

“I remember when I was young and I got into fights with my friends, we always used to say ‘whoever calls names is called that himself.

“It takes one to know one.

“And that’s not just a children’s joke. The meaning is quite deep psychologically. We always see our own qualities in another person and think that he/she is like ourselves. And coming from that, evaluate his/her actions and evaluate him/her overall.

“As he [Biden] said, we know each other personally. What would I reply to him? I would say: I wish you health. I wish you health. I say that without any irony or joke.”

Konstantin Kosachev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian parliament’s upper house, had also said that Moscow would likely take further steps “if the American side does not offer an explanation or apology”.

Kosachev said Biden’s comments “were not acceptable under any circumstances” and sent any hopes of an improvement of relations under the new administration “down the drain”.

Russia also recalled its ambassador to the United States on Wednesday for “consultations” just hours after Biden’s remarks, which the Kremlin later said were “very bad” and without precedent.

Opashola and the twins were prosecuted by the Ilorin Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on separate charges to which they pleaded guilty.

While Opashola was prosecuted on one count, Taiye and Kehinde answered to seven counts each.

The charge against Opashola reads:

“That you, Opashola Abdullahi, (alias Devin Snow), sometime in the month of August 2020 in Ilorin, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, did attempt to cheat by personation, by portraying yourself as a female named Devine Snow via your email address devinesnow677@gmail.com to one Eugene Myvett in order to induce him to send you $200 USD, a representation you knew to be false and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 95 of the Penal Code and punishable under Section 324 of the same Law”

Particulars of count six of the charge against Taiye reads: “That you, Taiye Adebayo, sometime in January, 2020, at Ilorin, within the judicial division of the Kwara State High Court, did cheat one Gary Brenton who you met on TWOO dating site, of the sum of $490 (Four Hundred and Ninety Dollars) received vide gift cards when you pretended to be female and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 320 of the Penal Code and punishable under Section 322 of the same Penal Code.”

Following the ‘guilty plea’ entered by the defendants, counsel to the EFCC, Andrew Akoja, led Paul Kera and Emezie Dominic in evidence to review the facts of the case against Opashola and the twins, respectively. Documents were tendered and admitted in evidence following which the court adjourned for judgment.

Delivering judgment on the two cases today, Justice Akinpelu found Opashola guilty of the charge against him and sentenced him to four months imprisonment. The 26-year old lecturer was however given an option of fine of N150,000.

For Taiye and Kehinde, Justice Akinpelu also pronounced each of them guilty of the charge and sentenced them to six months imprisonment on each of the counts against them, which is to run concurrently.

The judge however have the twin-brothers option of fine of N50,000 on each of the counts.

While ordering that the laptops and phones used by the convicts to commit the crime be forfeited to the Federal Government, the judge said the sentences would serve as deterrent to others.

We Can’t Find Ogun Refugees In Benue Rebublic -FG

The Federal Government has said it cannot locate the displaced Ogun State residents taking refuge in Benin Republic due to attacks on their communities by armed herdsmen.

The government explained that the Nigerian Embassy officials, who visited the communities where the people were taking shelter, were informed that they had returned to their communities in Nigeria.

The Director of Consular Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr Bolaji Akinremi, disclosed this to The PUNCH on Wednesday in response to inquiries on what the government was doing to bring back the refugees.

The displaced persons from Agbon-Ojodu, Moro, Asa, Ibeku and other villages in the Yewa Local Government Area of Ogun State had abandoned their communities and took refuge in neighbouring Benin Republic following incessant attacks by armed herdsmen.

Over 20 persons have been reportedly killed by the herdsmen, who also graze their animals on farms in the communities.

The Senate had penultimate Wednesday asked the Federal Government to direct officials of the National Emergency Management Agency and the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management to bring the refugees back.

The Senate resolution was sequel to a point of order raised by the senator representing Ogun West, Tolu Odebiyi.

But giving an update on the matter, Akinremi said no Nigerian refugee was found in Benin Republic.

He stated, “Our mission visited the villages mentioned and met with rulers, but was told that those who came as a result of the crisis had returned after a few days. So, no Nigerian refugee was found in Benin Republic. In line with the various media reports and the reported National Assembly directive for NEMA to bring them back home, the MFA will be willing to support as appropriate.”

Meanwhile, the MFA said it had taken up the case of a 23-year-old Nigerian, Itunu Babalola, who was jailed for 20 years by a court in Ivory Coast.

Babalola, a trader based in Bondoukou, Cote d’Ivoire, was reportedly incarcerated after a case of burglary of her apartment she reported to the local police was turned against her.

A journalist, David Hundeyin, who shared the young woman’s ordeal on social media, said she had been in prison since October 2019, simply because she refused requests by the Divisional Police Officer in Bondoukou to drop the case.

IMO: Uzodinma And APC Conspiracy And Connivance Against Imo People

By Ogu Bundu Nwadike, M.A

Ndigbo have a saying which proposes that under certain circumstances, a subject would wear a basket mask and speak truth to the king.

That saying has a lot of implications for the gang up by powers that be in the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Senator Hope Uzodimma in Owerri, Imo State over the period that began on Sunday, March 14, 2021 in a purported celebration of Uzodimma’s 14 months of non-performance and failure in office, with their “commissioning” of his invisible projects in Imo State.

Truth be told to power, the recent physical and virtual pouring into Imo State by the national executive and legislature leadership of APC extraction to celebrate the failure of Uzodimma and APC in Imo State, with their supposed “commissioning of projects completed by Uzodimma” smacks of grand conspiracy and connivance to ridicule and embarrass the highly cerebral good people of Imo State.

This is the very first time in Nigeria that a president virtually “commissions” so-called projects from a long distance based on unverified photos and obviously biased hearsay.

It’s the second time in Nigeria that a vice president in Nigeria would “commission” projects that he didn’t see, but was told through unverified photos and hearsay.

This is the first time that a senate president will be goaded into the faux pas of standing to “commission” an inconsequential banquet hall in an inconspicuous corner of Government House.

It’s the second time “project commissioning” is done anywhere in Nigeria in the dark hours and the twilight of the day, with the aid of the beams of halogen searchlights.

Only the dishonest and insincere ploy to shield the bad project would necessitate that show of shame.

Real projects are physically commissioned in good daylight hours of the day, when the project, the executor and the people can be seen clearly and heard loudly.

If it required the full force of the very top leadership of APC to literally invade Imo State physically and virtually to provocatively perform “virtual commissioning” of micro-mini projects like a banquet hall and hidden uncompleted road projects, what will they do had Uzodimma accomplished a major landmark project like the good roads and good bridges that are seen in other States of the Southeast and South South geo-political zones?

It’s obvious that the good people of Imo State feel outrage and appalled that this kind of conspiracy and connivance was wickedly planned and poorly executed in the State in such a shameless and shameful unprecedented way and manner by Uzodimma and his Camphope faction of APC!

Evidently, that clear instance of conspiracy and connivance by Uzodimma and APC against Imo State is most unacceptable to genuine well-meaning Imolites! That’s the verdict in Imo!

Rating Uzodimma highly when because of his bad governance the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) rated Imo State lowly as the unemployment capital of Nigeria is most dishonest and insincere of the APC leadership.

Rating Uzodimma highly when his non-payment, underpayment, staggered payment of workers’ salaries and retirees’ pensions rate him very lowly is an unfair blackmail of Imo State and Imo people by APC leadership.

Under the watch of Uzodimma, over 99% of roads in Imo State remain dilapidated after his 14 months in office. In real terms, there are no motorable roads in Imo State!

It’s a crime against Imo humanity that some APC henchmen could afford to sit esconced in confinement and virtually “commission” roads that aren’t qualified to be tagged Trunk A, Trunk B, or even Trunk C roads. Too bad!

It’s very appalling that the president, vice president, senate president, APC caretaker committee chairman and others could afford to pour encomiums on Uzodimma, in spite of his colossal failure in office.

What’s the great hope Osinbajo is seeing for Nigeria in Uzodimma’s 14 months of failure? Truth is that with characters as Uzodimma and APC, there’s no hope at all in Imo State and Nigeria.

However, whatever is the interest or purpose of APC in Imo State, the incontrovertible truth is that right from the advent of the current 4th Republic in 1999 till date, Imo State has unarguably remained a stronghold of the PDP.

There’s no gainsaying that Imo is PDP and PDP is Imo! The people of Imo State love PDP and PDP loves Imo people! No controversy about that truth!

But for political terrorism, brigandage and subterfuge that characterize the APC since its formation till date, PDP will continually emerge winners in all elections in Imo State.

On a final note, therefore, we make bold to reassert that APC is on an unwise mission to Kala in Imo State. The foothold APC think they have in Imo State is a weak foot, with which it can’t move an inch to anywhere in the Southeast if the popular will and wish of the electorates are allowed to prevail in free, fair and credible elections.

Whatever happens, let it be noted that the conspiracy and connivance by Uzodimma and APC against Imo State and Imo people have been underscored and is being systematically and systemically contended with and will be legitimately contained and lawfully subdued at an appointed time soon. There’s a Supreme God!

By God’s grace, Imo State must be rebuilt!!

The First Wife Of Chief Femi Fani Kayode Mrs Regina Replies Precious Chikwendu

My name is Mrs. Regina Fani-Kayode and I am the first wife of Chief Femi Fani-Kayode. We were married in 1997 and we are still married up until today.

Precious Chikwendu, a strange woman that he took under his roof, married under law and custom and lived with for seven years has written things about my husband which are not only untrue but also downright defamatory and scandalous and I will respond to her with the following as a first salvo.

Precious, you are just a sick woman and a big liar. I know you collected over half a million USD dollars from Femi within the first few months of meeting him for a fake investment. We have witnesses to prove it and remember that you even asked me to thank him for it.

I also know he set you up in one business or the other four times in 7 years and got you offices etc. but you squandered it all.
When you came to my husband and took over my home you and your family were like hungry refugees.

You had nothing but rubber slippers and you were desperate for help.
My husband sent three of your siblings to the highest schools for seven years and took care of their every need yet you now slander him and insult him not minding the effect it will have on your own children. That in itself proves that you are insane.

You say he has mental issues meanwhile you were the one that was locked up in a mental hospital for one month after trying to kill him and his children. How could you have stayed in the home of a man with mental problems for six good years and allowed your mother, aunty, two brothers and sisters to stay there too?
Who are you trying to fool? You are nothing but a wretched ingrate and, like Madame Kemi Olunloyo said, a pathological liar. And God will punish you and all your siblings for your ingratitude and lies.
You knew he was still married to me because you and I spoke countless times on the phone and you even stayed in my room and wore my clothes .

You had nothing when he took you in, you are so ungrateful. 6 of your relatives lived in my house for 6 yrs and they were all depending on Femi for food , upkeep, medical bills and school fees. Even your sister’s wedding was paid for by him .

But that didn’t stop you from plotting with your gang to kill him. You admitted to me about being naked in the hotel room with a man on the night FFK caught you.
I know the huge amounts of money he spent on you and your family and I’m sure you can’t deny that, that’s why his friends tagged you as a gold digger.

Your inability to love your children which you attributed to a medical condition was well tolerated by FFK and twelve nannies and nurses were working round the clock to keep you from harming them but you still got to beat up Aragon badly and bleached their skins till they broke out in sores.

You are a mother from hell and a horrible woman. In one of your dramatic fits, you pulled knifes to stab Femi and the children and police were called in stop you.
FFK never laid hands on you, even on the day he caught you in the hotel room with your lover.

Is that the act of a violent man ?
All his male friends you have been offering your body to have already confessed so please stop trying to blackmail them. Stop working for those criminals who are just using your body to rip off rich men.
There is so much more to expose about your wickedness but I really don’t have time for your drama this year.
I am the reason Femi tolerated your nonsense for so long but enough is enough, I will not allow you to kill him because of your greed. He’s too busy to answer your stupid tantrums and fantastic lies, your media rants lack facts and the powerful truth will always prevail.

Your constant threats to kill the children is why Femi is afraid to leave them with you, you can’t even find the time to call them till now.
You think raining insults daily on their nannies is the best way to encourage them, instead of talking to your babies. And why were you stealing half their salaries when you had your own allowance ? All the evidence will be presented in court soon.
Mrs. Regina Fani-Kayode,

(First Wife & a Ghanaian)

Shame Shame To This Government But Remember No Peace For The Wicked!

Gov Uzodimma gathered some people yesterday for Okorocha’s sake. In as much as Ndi Imo is in support of recovering our collective property Okorocha acquired illegally, gathering Ndi eze and others for such purpose is misguided and of no importance.

Uzodimma’s government should not make much noise about this else we may think there is something they are not telling us!

Whatever it is the governor wants to tell the people, the best place to do so is the court, no where else!

Its clearly obvious that this Government has lost touch of the people she is meant to govern by embarking on a project of less importance.

Any gathering of such importance should be a gathering where the delay of over 27 Imo workers and Pensioners salaries and pensions were to be discussed and actions taken to pay up immediately.

This same Government promised to clear the arrears of salaries and pensions after the organised Labour suspended her strike almost a month ago but till now nothing has happened.

This Government has proven to be totally insincere and heartless to the sufferings of Imo workers and Pensioners because since February 2020 till today the end of February 2021 over 27,500 imo workers and Pensioners are yet to recieve their statutory monthly pay….

How else would you describe Uzodimma’s Government?

Now they want to use Okorocha’s looth to confuse Ndi Imo. It wont work!

Imo workers and Pensioners have completed every task demanded of them, submitted all submittables, signed all signables, crossed all Ts and dotted all dottables yet this Government is still hellbent in lying against the poor Imo workers and Pensioners!

It’s a shame to this Government and all who are part of this heartless government that posterity will forever remember them for being wicked and insensitive to their parents and Guardians!!!

In political Science, welfare of the people comes first, security of their lives and properties seconds!

Unfortunately in Imo we are still talking about salaries and pensions!!!

Shame shame Shame

One thing I know is this :

No Peace For The Wicked!!!!!

IMO: APC Must Spare Ndi-Imo All The Heat And Tension

By Ogu Bundu Nwadike, M.A

Having observed and assessed the increasing violent attacks and counter-attacks between supposed leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State for sometime now, the organized opposition sees great reason to charge them to stop heating up the polity and spare Imo people the tension that they have continued to mount in the State for sometime now.

It has been noted that in many fronts – political, social and economic – the APC has been making Imo State too tensive with their uncivil and undemocratic approaches to issues of leadership and governance. That has made the organized opposition, among other things, underscore the APC v APC public hostilities as an evidence of the illegitimacy and unpopularity of APC in Imo State, following the still contentious and controversial way and manner the Party ascended the governorship seat in the State.

It’s reasoned that for sometime now the trio of Senator Hope Uzodinma, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume and Senator Rochas Okorocha, all of the APC, have for their respective reasons conducted themselves in ways that send wrong signals to Imo people that instead of providing leadership and governance in the State, all they are focused on is endless power mongering skirmishes.

We noted that for their activities, actions and inactions, none of the three geo-political zones of the State enjoys genuine peace any longer.

Indeed, it’s too ironical that supposed leaders of the party in power are embroiled in profuse bickering and bantering that send a mixture of cold and hot shivers to the spines of the ordinary people, playing big opposition to itself.

Organized opposition can confidently argue that the root of the altercations, that leave ample negative consequences in the State, is the despotic tendencies of the key dramatis personnae that manifest in their wanton display of gross lawlessness and impunity in the political stratosphere.

We therefore aver that the APC has steadily turned Imo State into a theatre of war of peculiar sorts, which has even seen men of the Nigeria Police and the Nigerian armed forces embarking on a massive air and land show of force in Orlu/Orsu/Oru East Federal Constituency supposedly against a group that has been introduced as Eastern Security Network (ESN).

And most recently, Senator Rochas Okorocha of the APC, a serving Senator of the Federal Republic, was profiled in a severe, near fatal direct physical brawl with aides and agents of Governor Hope Uzodinma of the APC over a mutual display of lawlessness and impunity.

The two APC chieftains have been striving to accomplish the impossible of getting a right out of their mutual two wrongs.

However, while Ndimo may not be interested in situating the reasons for the show of shame by these so-called leaders of APC, they must be very much concerned about the negative consequences of their brouhaha on Imo people, the society, and the economy of the State.

Therefore, this should serve as a call to order on the the party, APC, and their querrulous chieftains, since Imolites cannot afford to sit and watch the APC power mongering gladiators set our dear State on an avoidable fire, causing frazzled sensibilities and opprobrium to the people.

Conclusively, well-meaning Imolites must demand that APC must stop washing their dirty linen in the glare of the public. That’s because their dirty conducts brings tonnes of shame on Imo State and Imo people.

And where they are no longer capable of providing desired leadership and governance to Imo people, without rancour and acrimony, then they should do the the most honourable needful and resign.

By God’s grace, Imo State must be rebuilt!!

A Plea For Peace In Imo State – Chief Emma Okewulonu

A PDP Chieftain and Elder statesman Chief Emma Okewulonu has lean his voice on the tension in the state caused by APC Chieftains and Orlu sons, his message for Peace.

I have observed with a great deal of concern, consternation, and indeed sadness, the ongoing disagreement between H.E Governor Hope Uzodinma, and his predecessor in office, Senator Rochas Okorocha, and their respective foot soldiers and supporters; principally over some piece of real estate located around the Akachi axis of Owerri. The ongoing fracas should also be of concern to all well meaning leaders and stakeholders in the Imo Project, because our people have a saying, that a goat should not be allowed to give birth while tethered, when a mature person is present.

While it is not in my place, nor my wish to delve into the rightness or otherwise of the respective antagonists’ positions and perspectives on the matter, it is nevertheless appropriate to strongly remind our esteemed leaders that there are formal, acceptable, and well established avenues for them to properly ventilate their issues, and to resolve them accordingly.
I wish to also remind them that the greater good of the people of Imo State, which ought to be the primary consideration, and of paramount importance to both parties, given the lofty positions that they presently occupy, is not in any way advanced by the ongoing imbroglio.

The disruptions and dislocations to the societal fabric occasioned by seemingly wanton disregard for propriety and due process can better be imagined.
It is with a great sense of responsibility therefore, that I urge the warring parties to kindly sheath their swords, and embrace the path of peace, so as to quickly restore the environment to its tranquil state without which no significant progress or achievement can be recorded in the polity.
It is only in a peaceful environment that the people’s welfare can be advanced, and their aspirations fulfilled. The whole world is watching our unfortunate and macabre dance. Let peace be our collective watch word, please.

The good people of Imo State want and deserve no less.

Imo: The Bitches Called Karma And Nemesis In APC’S House Of Confusion And Commotion

…APC HAS TOTALLY RUINED IMO IN ALL SECTORS AND RAMIFICATIONS

…POWER RUSTLING AND MONEY MONGERING IS THEIR MAIN STOCK IN TRADE

… DEMOLITION AND DESTRUCTION IS THEIR MAIN PROJECT

…MAY GOD SAVE IMO FROM APC

By Ogu Bundu Nwadike, M.A

“I’ve come to bury Ceasar, not to praise him”! That popular quote was donated to the world through the legendary William Shakespeare via the diplomatic character of Mark Anthony in the dramatic work with the simple title of “Julius Ceasar”!

In this short essay, we’ve as usual come to situate the truth of burning matters and not to press or praise them or anybody. Hypocrisy and sycophancy are never in our itinerary for constructive criticisms of the matters arising in the State.

There’s certainly fire on Mount APC of so-called All Progressives Congress. That accounts for the race and running going on in the unpopular anti-people party in the recent times.

A school of thought has hinted that whatever anybody thinks is going on in APC, Karma and Nemesis are on morning duty. A simple explanation of that would be that evil that men do, lives with them and after them.

The APC dogs are now eating APC dogs. That’s an abomination and a bad omen. There was once upon a time when those APC dogs ganged up in barking against the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in the State. Imo people quite remember that!

A short trip into the history of the origin of the war of attrition that APC leaders are fighting in Imo State now may be pertinent.

It goes thus. Prior to the 2019 general elections, the fire raging in camp APC now was ignited. The genesis hinged on the period when APC leaders and members eagerly waited for the then governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, to show them the man and go to bed and enjoy some well-deserved sleep.

Incidentally, Rochas in his wisdom or folly showed them his boy, Chief Uche Nwosu, who’s husband of his first daughter, Ulooma in place of the man that APC had been expecting.

That turned out to be the lighter that sparked off fire in the tinder box on Mount APC. It began few years ago but has continued to smoother!

The first of a series of consequences was the emergence of a formidable faction that went by the simple memorable aegis of “Coalition”, while the other splinter faction prided itself as “Ndi Agburu”! That was in 2018!

Next in the line of action and activities was the APC primary election in the same 2018. It ended in all sorts of parallel pockets of elections here and there by the two prominent factions.

It was while the fire smoked that Senator Hope Uzodimma gatecrashed into APC and characteristically hijacked one of the plural gubernatorial tickets for 2019 election.

Meanwhile, Rochas through his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu, was also brandishing another APC gubernatorial ticket for the same guber election.

After all was said and done, Uche Nwosu and Rochas chickened out and rushed to the Action Alliance (AA), realizing what became known as “AA-APC Perfect Alliance” and obtained their gubernatorial ticket.

It has since been confirmed by the Supreme Court that Uche Nwosu contested the 2019 election flying two flags of both AA and APC, creating the poser over which flag Uzodimma was flying in that election! Or was he an independent candidate?

Then came Saturday, March 9, 2019, the day of the guber election in Imo State, and on the marks for the race were Ihedioha, Uche Nwosu, Ifeanyi Araraume, Uzodimma and a some other over 60 candidates.

On Monday, March 11, 2019, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the results of the election and declared His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, CON of PDP as winner of the election, with Chief Uche Nwosu of AA coming in second position, and Senator Ifeanyi Araraume of APGA coming third. Senator Uzodimma of AA came fourth.

In April 2019, when the Imo State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal opened sitting, the trio of Uche Nwosu, Araraume and Uzodimma practically ganged up and presented petitions contesting the results of the election, insisting that Ihedioha didn’t win the election.

In September 2019, the Tribunal ruled that Ihedioha actually won the election. Then the trio of Uche Nwosu, Araraume and Uzodimma rushed to the Court of Appeal, which in November 2019 upheld the ruling of the Tribunal the Ihedioha was rightfully returned as governor-elect.

Not done, in spite of all efforts made to get them seek political solutions to their grievances rather than persevering on legal litigations, the trio to Uche Nwosu, Araraume, and Uzodimma further rushed to the Supreme Court, which on January 14, 2020 made Uzodimma governor against the evidence before the Court.

The gang up of the trio which was hazy all the while became overt when they jointly celebrated the questionable declaration of Uzodimma as winner of that election.

Those people that had insisted that the trio were old time, far back co-connivers and co-conspirators were vindicated as Rochas, Uche Nwosu and Araraume guffawed up and down at the swearing in ceremony for Uzodimma and followed him sheepishly to different occasions, like the Okigwe North rerun election which was won by APC, courtesy of the combined force of the trio!

However, when the loot, booty, and spoils of war were to be shared, trouble began as Uzodimma proved that all factions are equal but Camphope faction was more equal than the others.

Uzodimma’s appointments went to only his loyalists and apologists in Camphope, leaving out loyalists and apologists of CampRoche and CampAraraume!

Not a single supporter or stooge of Rochas, Uche Nwosu or Araraume was offered appointment by Uzodimma. That blew some hot breeze on the embers of the fire that started in 2018.

Then dogs began to eat dogs. Uzodimma began to witch-hunt Rochas, just as Rochas began to witch-hunt Uzodimma at local, State and national levels.

Araraume too was biting Uzodimma, particularly over the Okigwe Zone Senatorial bye-election in which Uzodimma did everything humanly possible to stop Araraume from contesting the bye-election, not to talk about winning it, or to talk about returning to the Senate for a third term.

Along the lines, Uzodimma began to demolish and destroy roundabouts and some building structures constructed by Rochas.

Then came the implementation of the recommendations of the Judicial Panel of Inquiry that looked into the acquisition of land in Imo State from 2006 to 2019.

Uzodimma ordered the take over of Eastern Palm University (EPU) which Rochas claimed to be his, but which the Government of Imo State has been proving to be owned by Imo State.

Then, Uzodimma ordered the sealing of the expansive Royal Spring Palm Hotel that was built by Dr. Mrs. Nkechinyere Rochas Okorocha. That’s where we are as at today!

What the people who nurse the views that the hands of Karma and Nemesis are in the whole entire macabre dance on Mount APC must be saying is that the same people that once upon time ganged up against PDP victory in the 2019 governorship election have ended up ganging up against themselves.

About one year ago, they rejoiced at extricating power from PDP and His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha. Today, they’re regretting their conspiracy against PDP, as like typical bandits and terrorists, they’re now fighting over the power and money they fought to grab by brigandage.

Let the show of shame continue in Imo APC House of Confusion and Commotion so that the world would know that the APC leaders in Imo State are political, social and economic vandals and invaders, bandits and terrorists, whose only achievements since 2011 has been the systematic and systemic total ruin of the State in all sectors and ramifications. Cry beloved State!

By God’s grace, Imo State must be rebuilt!!

Imo: APC And Burden Of Fraudulent Office Holders

By Ogu Bundu Nwadike, M.A

The current heat in the polity of Imo State could have any and many causes. Some causes may be personal between and among political parties, politicians, and political office holders, while some causes may be as a result of official breaches of rules and regulations by unscrupulous politicians.

There must be cause(s) of the clash and conflict between Senator Rochas Okorocha, APC, representing Imo West Senatorial District in the Senate, and Senator Hope Uzodimma, who was made governor by the Supreme Court on January 14, 2020.

One of the critical causes of the current socio-political troubles in Imo State must not be unconnected with the way and manner both Senator Rochas Okorocha and Senator Hope Uzodimma emerged to occupy the offices they are occupying.

In retrospection, it may be necessary to remind that both politicians were products of controversial court rulings, whereby knowledgeable members of the society cried outrage at the rulings that gave them victory and offices they occupy.

Recall that it required a Court order before the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) released the Certificate of Return to Senator Rochas Okorocha, after the 2019 general elections into the Senate.

That was sequel to the evidences of heinous electoral irregularities and malpractices orchestrated and perpetrated by the All Progressives Congress APC candidate for Imo West (Orlu Zone) Senatorial District, then Owelle Rochas Okorocha to secure victory.

Not a few pundits and analysts argued then that it was wrong for the Court to have granted Okorocha’s prayers to be declared winner of the election and handed the Certificate of Return.

Okorocha

They stressed that a bad precedence had been set, ennobling the dangerous act of politicians and contestants in elections deploying crass duress, threats, intimidations, and harassments with weapons of all sorts upon electoral officials to secure undeserved victories in elections.

On the other hand, the emergence of Senator Hope Uzodimma as the governor of Imo State was vide an order of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, which in spite of ample impeccable evidences of monumental fraud and forgery, still granted the prayers of the still contentious, controversial and contradicted APC candidate who polled votes that placed him in the ignoble fourth position of the table.

That judgement, like Hon. Justice Centus Nweze JSC, rightly prognosticated, has continued to haunt the Nigeria nation and its judiciary since thereafter.

The jurist, who gave the only dissenting judgement, had stated in the course of reacting to the final judgement that the judgement of the Apex Court on the 2019 Imo governorship election will haunt Nigeria for a long time. He has turned out to be a genuine prophet.

In corroborating the jurist’s vision, some reputable pundits and analysts have argued that the system and practice of politicians and contestants in elections, going to courts to purchase victory, which they couldn’t secure by popular votes at the polling units, is a criminal act which ought not to be accorded impetus by the Courts of the land.

The unending face-off, bickerings and bantering by Governor Uzodimma and Ex-Governor Okorocha has been attributed to the fact that they allegedly bought their victories at the Courts.

Uzodinma

Much as that is arguably open to debate and discussion, the link between the behaviour of the two politicians that are occupying very high offices and the ways and manners they got their offices can’t be undermined or overlooked.

The level of incompetence that the duo have displayed so far in their respective offices can only be expected from people that got into office by unorthodox ways as the pressuring, polluting, coercing and compelling of judicial officials to sell to them favourable judgements that ordinarily they shouldn’t have had any business obtaining.

The idea is that when these desperados for unmerited mandates and undeserved power spend financial fortunes to get into political offices that they didn’t qualify to occupy ab initio, they end up being preoccupied with massive looting of public money to recoup their huge war chests expended in the election.

Consequently, that system has been pencilled down as a major bane of the political development of the country in regard to the conducted of free, fair and credible elections.

There are big lessons that the system of the judiciary manufacturing candidates, and producing winners in elections in unconvincing circumstances has to teach politicians and statutory organs of government that see to elections at all levels in the country.

Some of the lessons may be learned from the observable poor character and conduct of a large number of unpopular politicians that rely on judiciary proclamations for the accomplishment of their sinister motives of winning elections by all negative means and at all nefarious costs.

It is pertinent and relevant to highlight the fact that the two main political actors in this narrative, Senators Okorocha and Uzodimma, in their display of high grade lawlessness and impunity, invaded Okigwe Zone in the not too distant past and strove extra hard to impose their choices of candidates for the Imo North (Okigwe Zone) Senatorial bye-election, which has remained inconclusive till date, about three months after the bye-election was conducted on December 5, 2020.

While Senator Okorocha was hell bent at imposing his fellow political godfather, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, on the good people of Okigwe Zone, Senator Uzodimma was hell bent at imposing his political godson, Mr. Frank Ibezim, on Okigwe Zone people.

Interestingly, while they were struggling to have their stooges imposed on the people, the High Courts, the Court of Appeal, and even the Supreme Court kept keeping justice on its head, insisting that neither Senator Ifeanyi Araraume nor Mr. Frank Ibezim was qualified to contest in the bye-election.

At this moment, the matter is at the Supreme Court, where final judgement is awaited on whether Mr. Frank Ibezim, who had been severally slammed with the judgement of committing perjury by furnishing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) with an assortment of fake academic certificates, still qualifies to be the APC candidate in the bye-election.

As it is now, all ears and eyes are focused on the judiciary to hear and see whether the Apex Court will uphold the judgement of justice delivered by the lower Courts or it’ll undermine the good judgement to appease unpopular godfathers and godsons on who represents Okigwe Zone at the Senate.

Whatever happens, as the cognate practice of democracy matures into near half a century in Nigeria, it’s expected that certain unedifying systems and practices that characterized the democracy in its teething period would be replaced with improved reliable alternatives. Forward ever, backwards never!

Imo PDP Youth Football Championship 2020 Has Ended In Grand Style.

By Ogu Bundu Nwadike, M.A

The first round matches of the Imo PDP Youth Football Championship 2020 ended with the end of the year, 2020. At the Leadership Meeting of Ideato North LGA on Saturday, February 20, 2021, the participation of the LGA was among tops on the agenda for the meeting.

In his report, the Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of the championship in the LGA, Chief Tony Ebi, displayed the spirit of sportsmanship when he passionately told the leaders that the LGA came second in Group E that it played in.

Thanking leaders of the Party, he stated that in spite of some initial odds, the LOC that he headed did everything possible to get some leaders of PDP in the LGA to provided various sponsorship for the LGA’s team to participate in the championship, coming second on the table.

Stating that it wasn’t possible to give the names of all the leaders that provided sponsorship for the championship, Chief Tony Ebi, however, thankfully mentioned a few, including his humble self, Dr. ThankGod Ezeani, Arc. Chidi Clinton Okoli, Chief Chinemeya Iheaku, Hon. Mrs. Obianuju Evarista Ihejiagwa, and others who made financial donations, with other leaders who donated footballs, jersies, boots, etcetera for the championship. He thanked them for supporting the Championship with funding.

The gangling LOC Chairman specifically reported that Ideato North LGA traded tackles in Group E, with Ohaji-Egbema LGA topping the table. He said that other LGAs in the Group were Nwangele and Oru East.

He announced that Ideato North played 6 matches, won 3, drew 1, lost 2, scored 6 goals conceded 4 goals, got total points of 10.

The eventual winner in the Group, Ohaji-Egbema LGA played played 6 matches, won 6, conceded no goal, and got total points of 18.

Nwangele LGA played 6 matches, won none, drew 3, lost 3, scored 3 goals, and conceded 6 goals, getting 3 points.

Oru East LGA played 6 matches, won none, drew 2, lost 4, scored 1 goal, and conceded 2 goals, getting 2 points.

Chief Tony Ebi said the Ideato North LGA team’s performance was good enough under the circumstances, and said he was anticipating the number of teams going into the Second round to include the winners and the runners up.

That, he said, could see Ideato North LGA lifting the trophy as the overall winners of the championship, because the team kept playing better with each match.

In his speech, Mr. Fancy Ewuru, ex-international footballer, who starred for Enugu Rangers and Nigeria, and later became a coach, thanked Imo PDP for organizing the Football Championship, saying it was very image maker for the Party.

He thanked the leadership of the Party and Chairman and members of the LOC in Ideato North LGA for supporting the Party in the LGA in participating in the competition.

He said when he got news of the Championship he volunteered to join the LOC to provide coaching tips to the youth players, since he had experience in football coaching.

Coach Ewuru stated that he was happy that his joining the team resulted in some improvement in their performance. He pledged to ensure that the team performs better in future editions of the championship.

Before rounding off his speech, Coach Ewuru, who looked rather very youthful, implored everybody to imbibe the habit of exercising even if in small ways. According to him, exercise, games and sports are quintessential for good health and better living.

The LGA Chairman, Hon. ThankGod Okereke thanked the LOC Chairman, Chief Tony Ebi and members of the LOC, particularly Coach Ewuru, for putting up a relatively good performance, as the LGA wasn’t disgraced in the Championship.

Hon. Okereke also thanked all the Party leaders that sponsored the team to the Championship, urging them to continue to stand with the LGA in funding of the programmes and projects of the Party whenever the need arises.

Ambassadorial Portfolio Can’t Stop ICC Investigation of Ex-Service Chiefs – PDP…Berates APC Senate Leadership for Betraying Nigerians

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) berates the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership in the Senate for betraying Nigerians by clearing the former services chiefs for ambassadorial portfolios despite reports of crime against humanity committed under their command.

According to the a release by the party’s publicity secretary Me. Kola Ologbondiyan said the party however insisted that the clearance will not stop the investigation and possible prosecution of the accused commanders by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for crime against humanity, which preliminary steps have already commenced by the ICC.

It is indeed horrendous that the APC leadership in the Senate could choose to betray Nigerians by rushing to clear the accused ex-service chiefs in a desperate attempt to grant them diplomatic immunity and shield them from investigation and prosecution for the atrocities committed against Nigerians under their command.

Though it is public knowledge that the current APC Senate leadership is a mere rubber stamp and contrivance being used to endorse atrocious policies and suppress the will of the people, but descending to the level of aiding and abetting crime against humanity by attempting to confer diplomatic immunity on the accused ex-commanders is, to say the least, despicable.

It is indeed shameful that the APC leadership in the Senate could clear the ex-service chiefs, who the National Assembly had earlier indicted and requested for their sack over security failures and alleged compromises.

Such reward of failure amounts to stabbing our nation in the back.

The PDP cautions the APC leadership in the Senate that such decision has painted the entire National Assembly in a bad light before Nigerians and the international community.

Already, the development is pitching the Senate against the majority of Nigerians, particularly the victims of acts of terrorism as well as those of the reported extra-judicial killings, arbitrary arrests, illegal detentions in dehumanizing camps, massacre of peaceful protesters, torture, rape and other atrocities allegedly committed under the ex-commanders, as detailed in the reports of credible international bodies including the United States Department of State, Amnesty International (AI) and Transparency International (TI).

The PDP however commends our members in the Senate for rejecting the clearance of the ex-service chiefs as ambassadors and urged them not to relent in taking legislative steps to ensure their recall.

The Military Invasion Of Tje South East “Inyanga De Sleep, Trouble go Wake am”.

What has the Igbo, or the South East geopolitical zone, in particular, done to Nigeria? Why are they provoking the people to action, and perhaps, to another war? Why are they looking for trouble where none exists? Of all the six geopolitical zones in the country, the South East Zone, and perhaps, the South South, are the most peaceful. Yet, the Nigerian federal government has decided to launch a military attack on the South East, for no justifiable reason.

Why? Is it because the Igbo fought for Biafra and they want to punish them for that? Is it because they are envious of the progress and peacefulness existing in the South East, and they want to instigate another war in the area? Look at the speed with which the Federal Government had proscribed the Indigenes People of Biafra (IPOB) and declared it a terrorist organization in 2017, while the IPOB had not done one-quarter of what Miyetti Allah has been doing, yet the group has not been proscribed.

Pictures used for illustration

Sunday Igboho and the Amotekun Security Network are currently busy smoking out criminals from the forests of the South West, yet, the Nigerian military has not gone after them. Why are they after the South East? What have the people done to them? If they no longer want to have the Igbo or the South East in Nigeria, let them come out openly and say so.

We have a group of people who call themselves government. They told us to surrender to them, that they would secure our lives and properties. We agreed and did as they demanded. When however we began to be attacked and buffeted right, left and centre by some criminals or bandits operating as herdsmen, we ran to the government and asked them to come to our protection, but they ignored us, or looked the other way.

As they say, it is only a tree that is told that it will be cut down that will remain in the same place. So, in obedience to that first law of nature, which is self-presevation, or self defence, and in line with what our Minister of Defence, Bashir Magashi, had just told us, that Nigerians should defend themselves against banditry attacks, members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), decided to make security arrangements for the defence and protection of the people of the South East zone.

That was how the IPOB came about in establishing the Eastern Security Network (ESN), to see to the defence and protection of the people of the South East Zone against the activities of bandits that have been disturbing and terrorizing the people of the area.

The Eastern Security Network does not disturb anybody. They are only camped in the forests in order to root out criminal elements hiding and operating from the area. But for reasons which we can hardly understand, the Nigerian military, for the past two weeks, have been engaged in both air and land bombardments of the peaceful area of the South East, in particular, Orlu, Orsu and Njaba Local Government Areas of Imo State.

Pictures for illustration

According to the Public Relations Officer of the 34 Artillery Brigade, Nigerian Army, Obinze, Lieutenant Babatunde Zubairu, the Nigerian Military had launched joint military and Police operations in Orsu local government area of Imo State and its neighboring communities, following intelligence reports of the existence and establishment of illegal camps allegedly built by suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), the Eastern Security Network (ESN).

According to Lt. Zubairu, “available intelligence reports reveal that some unknown armed men suspected to be members of the Eastern Security Network of IPOB, have built illegal training camps in the areas with the intention of causing breach of security and destabilizing peace in the area. In an effort to ensure that there is no breakdown of law and order, the group of security operatives, including the Nigerian Army, Airforce and Police, stormed the area to raid these illegal camps”.

He claimed that the military were applying “professional rules of engagement as Military Helicopters have been deployed to the area in search of the illegal camps by the suspected members of Eastern Security Network to prevent any breach of security”.

But that is not true. Reports had it that trouble broke out early in January this year, when a joint security team of the Nigerian Police went in search of Eastern Security Netwirk in Orlu after the ESN sacked foreign Fulani settlers in the forests around Orlu. The police went after the ESN and got beaten in their own game, which resulted in the invasion of Orlu by Nigerian Army, since the police-led operation failed.

The outcome of the invasion had resulted in many deaths of innocent civilians and casualty in the side of the military. Since then, Orlu has not known peace, citizens and residents of Orlu have been on the run because the military had descended on the town, shooting and bombing from hovering helicopters. A video circulating on social media had children crying uncontrollably and adults wondering what was actually happening.

Meanwhile, a source had claimed that at least one helicopter belonging to the Nigerian Airforce was shot down by the Eastern Security Network (ESN.

In any case, we have seen that the interest of the federal government lies more in safeguarding the criminal elements hiding in the forests, but operating as herdsmen, than in securing the lives and properties of many law-abiding Nigerians going about their normal businesses. That was why they promptly despatched their fighting forces to attack members of the Eastern Security Network.

Again, we would like the federal government and the Nigerian Military to tell us why the camps set up in Igbo forests by the Fulani herdsmen, from where they have been terrorizing the people of the South East with their AK-47 rifles, were legal, while the camps built by the Eastern Security Network in their own forests, from where they were smoking out criminals who were harassing their people, were illegal.

In other words, while the federal government would embrace criminal elements hiding in Igbo forests, and who from there, have been terrorizing and making life miserable and uncomfortable for the people of the South East, they would not tolerate members of Eastern Security Network who have been protecting the lives and properties of the people.

We will therefore join former Presidential spokesman, Reno Omokiri in asking our President: “How does it make sense to send soldiers, helicopters and artillery to Orlu, because of Eastern Security Network that do not kill or abduct Nigerians, and then send a delegation to negotiate with killer herdsmen, bandits and other terrorists that kill Nigerians?

“How does it make sense for you to rain down bullets in the forests of Orlu, and rain down amnesty on the forest dwelling bandits of Niger, Katsina and Zamfara? Can there be peace, progress and prosperity where there is no justice?”

Nigeria is a bundle of contradictions, where criminals are handsomely rewarded, while those who fight the criminals are severely punished. It is a country of the more you look, the less you see!

How Kidnappers Lure, Kill Victims Through Online Dating

By Andrew Utulu

Members of a five-man gang of kidnappers, which included a lady, have confessed how they lure victims to their untimely death, swindle others through online dating using a website known as Tinder.

They revealed that they lure victims to lonely spots where they attack and rob them of their valuables.

According to their confessions, the unfortunate ones would be killed either by strangling or shot to death to cover-up their tracks.

Some of the suspects currently cooling their heels in police cells in Port Harcourt, Rivers State are Michael Eneji, 30; Nwachukwu Emeka, 22, Abubakar Umaru 26yrs and Success Okeke, 27.

Men of the Force Intelligence Response Team led by Abba Kyari, a Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), arrested them recently.

Their arrest came a few days after the family of one of their victims, Michael Victor, reported that he (Michael) was missing.

Saturday INDEPENDENT gathered that on 12th January 2021, the family of the deceased reported to IRT that their son has been missing since 6th January 2021.

It was revealed through intelligence gathering and support of the Technical Intelligence Unit, Force Headquarters Abuja, Eneji Michael a.k.a. General, and two of his gang members were arrested.

It was revealed that one AK-47 rifle, three magazines tied together and loaded with eighteen rounds of live ammunition was recovered from them.

During the interrogation by operatives, the suspects confessed to have killed the victim the very day they kidnapped him and later led the operatives to Old Onne Road Rivers State where on getting to the forest, it was discovered that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in-charge of the jurisdiction had already recovered the corpse and deposited same at Okirika General Hospital Mortuary.

Confessing to the crime, the alleged ringleader, Eneji a.k.a General, a native of the Gakem community in Bekwara Local Government Area of Cross River State said, “I have been into kidnapping and armed robbery since 2011 immediately I got my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

“I have been operating under the cover of being a naval officer, whereas I am not. I tell people that I am naval personnel because they see me putting on fake Navy uniforms most of the time.

“We normally pose as women on most of these dating sites. As soon as we lure our victims, we will arrange for a meeting. If the target becomes very stubborn we will bring a lady member of our gang who will speak with the man.

“If the man still insists on seeing the face of the lady, we go on video chats. We also use a small Tecno phone that enables us to change our voice from a man’s voice to a woman’s voice. Once I have been able to establish a contact, I will go to the next stage, which is to convince them that I will satisfy their sexual urge.

“Pretending to be a girl, I will tell them to meet me at Conoil Filling or Nyelek Filling Station, before Trailer Park on Eleme Road, while one of my boys, Success will go there and meet them as my domestic servant and direct them to my house.

“To convince them to come, I will claim that I live in a mansion where I don’t like disturbance. Once they start coming, Success will now tell them to drive towards a deserted place where we will lay an ambush, dressed in army uniform, and will stop them, overpower them and tie their hands and legs, while we take their valuables such as ATM cards,” he added.

According to him, the work of Abubakar and Otuma was to tie the victims, while Emeka handles the AK- 47 in case of any attack, as he goes to the bank to withdraw whatever the victims have in their bank accounts.

No Lecturer Died In Classroom Of Alvan Ikeokwu College Of Education -Resgistrar

RE: PANIC IN AIFCE AS LECTURER SLUMPS, DIES IN CLASSROOM:

A REBUTTAL

The attention of the Management, staff and students of Alvan Ikoku Federal College of
Education, Owerri has been drawn to a news publication in a section of the press that a
Senior Lecturer in our College “slumped and died in the classroom”.

The College Management wishes to quickly alert the reading public that nothing like that happened
in our College and that that piece of news is yet another bit of the misinformation and
disinformation that has recently characterized the social space in our country.

The College community would have ignored that bit of reportage but given the gravity of
attendant insinuations that the “lecturer was suspected to have died of COVID-19
related issues”, the consequences of ignoring such are not only dire for the College
community but have very huge potentials to create panic in the larger society.

In making this rebuttal, the College Management would like to present a chronicle of the events of Tuesday, 16th February, 2021 in our College so that the larger reading
public would get to see how the reporters and their jackleg so-called “sources” have
mischievously turned a tragedy to a circus of sensationalism, where the only fragments
of truth are that someone died, and that the someone was a staff of the College.

Yes, the College sadly lost an academic staff, Mr Michael Echetama, an ebulient, friendly
and humourous person on that fateful day, but the deceased was nowhere near the
College campus that day!

The news of Mr Echetama’s sad demise was particularly shocking to the entire College community when the news filtered in around 8:00 am that he had passed on and that the corpse had been brought to the Federal Medical Centre, Owerri. The news was blisteringly incredible to members of the College community, who still saw Mr Echetama in his usual bonhomie and ebulience at work the previous day.

He submitted his examination questions to his Head of Department the previous day and, while driving home after work, still exchanged pleasantries with his Dean and other College officials on College Task-Force duties at the College gate.

Receiving the news of the demise of someone who was still at work with colleagues and
very much active the previous day created a sense of incredulity and shock in the minds
of College officials and colleagues who then rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, some
in a bid to confirm, some just out of concern, and some in the hope that it was all a
misunderstanding. As social beings who thrive on bonding and interactions, that is the
way the human mind works in emergency situations.

Mr Echetama’s friendly nature, which had endeared him to staff and students coupled with his celebrity status as a
Nollywood actor deepened the shock.

Colleagues and students all broke down at the Federal Medical Centre on sighting the lifeless body of Mr Echetama still in the vehicle that brought him to the hospital.
The sight of the young wife screaming and pleading with almost everyone to do something to revive him was heartbreaking

The distraught wife ran to a College official and said “Sir, tell him to get up; I know he will listen to you!

I have been telling him to wake up since!”

This was the sad story of death that got staff
and students of Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education, Owerri staggering on Tuesday, 16th February, 2021.

How anyone would want to make a COVID sensation out of a tragedy that almost bent the institution is what continues to beat us.

The bereaved family and the entire Alvan community had not yet started recovering
from the shock of the previous day when this bizzare falsehood sneaked in to launch a
bitter assault on the sensibilities of the bereaved family and indeed of the entire Alvan community.

This is not only unprofessional but most heartless and wicked.

The College Management would like to assure the general public that the College is safe
and that academic activities are going on smoothly in the College even as staff and
students are preparing for the Second Semester examinations.

The activities of the College COVID-19 Response Team are top notch and all preventive protocols are being
observed and closely monitored throughout the College space.

Management also wishes to plead with journalists to always resist the urge to spread
clickbait and misinformation, which can cause panic and ultimately jeopardize all efforts
to control a raging public health emergency like the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the meantime, the College hereby demands that the news platforms that carried this
fake news should retract their damaging piece of yellow journalism within 48 hours.
Otherwise, the College will explore the option of seeking legal redress.

Pastor Essay who happens to be a widower of his late wife who died February last year being 2020, has been very sick .

The couple insisted that the pastor must leave his medication in a hospital in Lagos and come down to wed them. He mustered courage to leave Lagos and the hospital where he was taking treatment to come down to portharcourt to wed the couple. He waited and waited for the couple in and became tired.

He was so weak as a result of his ill Heath , which led to his climb upstairs to relax in his office. The couple arrived and met him in the office, resting without any strength in him, he pleaded with them to be wedded there in the office, they rather became very angry at him, bolted out and started making jest of him while a camera man was busy videoing , his church premises and saying all sourt of abuses against the man of God.

People joined in mocking him and calling him names. It was not after all that, a few days latter, the pastor told his sister that He was tired of this life, and that he wants to go and rest. After saying that, the man of God bowed his head and died instantly on the chair.

He could not bear how his name was trending all over the world for his own people that he has once prayed for them to get the best in life whose wedding were his utmost happiness, but what did he get after? Mockery upon mockery. It has been the problem with members.

Pastors undergo the same trials and temptation the members go through and even more yet, you see them trying to encourage and attend to the members not minding their own selves yet the members are bent on scandalizing their pastors at any slightest mistake. They always see pastors as supper humans that must be perfect in all things not minding they are human beings as they are.

Today, the man of God has died in frustration and I believe the couple who caused the whole uproar, created insulting screens and went to a nearby hotel to wed are now enjoying their hourney Moon and marriage why the body of the man of God is in lying in the mortuary.

May God help his people. May your soul be granted rest. Pastor Ogori Essa.

“This is why I have always subjected myself to the party’s decision-making process.

“My appreciation also goes to the Chairman, Abia APC Registration panel, Ambassador Bala Mohammed Mairiga, and his team for joining me to grace this exercise.

“The chairman can see for himself that the APC in Abia is deeply rooted.

“In the last few days, he has accompanied me to some decamping ceremonies of people from other parties into our party.

“On behalf of our National Chairman, Governor Mai Mala Buni, I welcome you to our great party.”

Disclosing his reasons for joining the party, General Ihejirika said his coming into politics by joining the APC is to contribute to the progress of the party in the state and at the national level.

The former COAS said further that having served in the Army for almost 38 years, he has gathered sufficient experience to contribute to the democracy of the nation and the fortunes of the party.

In his words:” I am delighted by the presence of the leader of the party in our state, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, to honour this event.

“Having served almost 38 years in the military, I am convinced that it will be a waste of experience for me to remain outside government activities.

“Thus is because I have a lot to offer and assure you all that I will operate an open-door policy.

“I will also learn fast.”

Ihejirika said his first goal is to unite the party.

He said: “My first goal is to unite the party.

“Unity is very important because if we are united, we can achieve all our goals for the state and the nation at large.”

Recall that similar advances by Senator Kalu had yielded results as it saw the Founder of the All Progressives Grand Alliance and United Peoples Party, Chekwas Okorie; former governorship candidate of the APGA in 2015 and 2019, Dr. Alex Otti; former governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party, Chief Emeka Atuma; former Commissioner for Finance in Abia State, Obinna Oriaku, joining the party in the state.

PDP Plans Big For Imo People For 2021 Planting Season

By Ogu Bundu Nwadike, M.A

As the 2021 planting season draws nigh, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State has big plans for the enhancement of agriculture in the State. To that extent, the Party has called upon farmers and entire people of Imo State to prepare to make the best out of the planting season.

It may be recalled that in a press statement signed by the State Chairman, Imo PDP, Engr. Charles C. Ugwuh, OON, he expressed worry about the problem of shortage of staple food, which situation was worsened by the skyrocketing prices of food stuff in Nigeria, and Imo State in particular. The Party vide the press statement urged the Government of Imo State to do something promptly to address the problems of food shortages and increasing food prices.

The high interest Engr. Ugwuh has and exhibits in the development of agriculture in Imo State should not be surprising to Imo people that know his antecedents and pedigree. For instance, during his quest to be Imo governor in 2007, he had a very good plan for the pragmatic development of agriculture in the State.

For instance, in his manifesto entitled: “Building A Stronger Economic Base For Imo – An Action Plan By Engr. Charles Ugwuh (Rokana), under the “Agricultural Development” statement, the then PDP guber candidate, he stated that “To ensure food security for the people of Imo State and exploit opportunities for export crops” as his goal for agricultural development.

Some of the items of his “Action Plan” for agriculture that will remain evergreen are:

(i) Introduce and vigorously pursue policies that promote the production of food and cash crops, livestock, in areas of natural advantage.

(ii) Promote the establishment of farm plantations and introduce basic mechanization of land preparation that improves subsistence farming to produce sufficient and cheap food for Imo people at all times.

(iii) Provide new seedlings, parent stocks, new techniques and effective training and extension services support to facilitate rapid take off of agro-business in Imo State.

(iv) Educate farmers and provide support/help in the acquisition of viable preservation techniques for farm produce and encourage the establishment of agricultural processing factories.

That’s not all. In addition, it must be reminded that in the seven and half months of the PDP RebuildImo administration, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha CON repositioned agriculture as the direction of the new generation.

The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Agriculture to the Governor, Hon. Victor Mbalewe, has done a very good job of cataloguing the landmark plans, programmes, projects and achievements of Governor Emeka Ihedioha in the agriculture sector.

Hon. Mbalewe also served as Project Manager, Anchor Borrowers Programme; and
Coordinator, Imo Youth in Agribusiness Programme (IYAP).

In the course of our researching for this short essay, Hon. Mbalewe most graciously availed us the rich collection of former Governor Emeka Ihedioha’s efforts at repositioning agriculture as a very attractive alternative to the challenges of unemployment and under-employment.

The following is an unedited reproduction of the thorough work done by Hon. Victor Mbalewe:

“Dear Sir,

HIGHLIGHT OF MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS OF HIS EXCELLENCY, RT. HON. EMEKA IHEDIOHA’s ADMINISTRATION IN THE AGRICULTURE SECTOR

“Let me sincerely commend you for your relentless and highly professional efforts to bring to the fore the unprecedented development strides in Imo State during the short-lived tenure of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha as Governor

“In particular, I wish to intimate you on some of His Excellency’s major achievements and initiatives in the Agriculture Sector, an effective route to improving the economic fortune of millions of Imo citizens, on a sustainable basis. Driven mostly by a 4-man Agriculture Team in collaboration with other Committees and relevant Government departments, His Excellency’s vision was a robust agriculture sector that guaranteed the following:
*accelerated development of commercial agriculture, especially through improved access to productive resources and profitable markets;
*improved food security;

The primary aim is to encourage farming in and production of staple food like maize, cassava, vegetables, pepper, tomatoes, etcetera among the masses of the State. It should be remembered that Imo State has arable land that supports the production of food of varying categories.

Therefore, ceteris peribus, the 2021 farming year, with the articulate vision of Engr. Charles C. Ugwuh, as State Chairman of Imo PDP will, by the grace of God, introduce a new positive vista in the annals of agricultural development in Imo State.

To God be the glory!

Imo Civil Servants To Start Receiving Minimum Wage Of #30000 From January 2021 -Gov. Uzodinma

We have activated the full implementation of the N30,000 new minimum wage in Imo State, as approved by the Federal Government.

This is in fulfillment of the promise I made to Imo workers.

While this new development is still being debated by some States as to whether to pay or not, even as others are still negotiating a reduction with accompanying excuses, we have since commenced its implementation with effect from January 2021.

Despite the drop in inflows and revenues, we have since taken the bull by the horn in making sure that Imo State is placed on the map as very labour-friendly.

It is imperative to note also that as at today, no civil servant in Imo State is earning less than N30,000 monthly – this is after tax deductions must have been made. And this explains that a worker can still receive his or her minimum wage of N30,500 after legitimate taxes must have been deducted and paid.

News reaching Gisthub24.com says the payment process as agreed by the organized labour will be made in phases. Phase 1 will capture workers from levels 1-7 while the next phase will start from levels 8-17. This is to uphold transparency which has been our guiding watchword, which we always stand by as a responsible government.

This is therefore a confirmation of the implementation of the 2021 budget of Wealth Creation which captures the payment of the minimum wage to Imo workers and by extension a calculated move to ensure that the expenses incurred by Imo workers are commensurate to their salaries at the end of the month and this alone is a fulfillment of the shared prosperity ideology of the present administration.

It may be recalled that since the inception of the shared prosperity government, we have shown much concern to the welfare of Imo workers through the prompt payment of salaries, revamping of the state secretariat, getting rid of ghost workers, provision of free buses to carry imo workers to and fro, training of workers in ICT and their overall welfare which has brought about high productivity in the sector.
