My Husband Was Not A Ritualist, Yet They Murdered And Burnt Him To Ashes

“My husband was not a ritualist, yet they mur-dered and bur-nt him to ashes”

Grace David Bolu, mother of two and wife of the sound Engineer, David Imoh, who was lynched and burnt to dea-th by commercial motorcyclists in Lekki over N100, on Thursday, May 12, laments:

“I got to know that my husband was mur-dered and set ablaze on May 13, 2022, through his colleague, Melvin.

“My husband only came out from Beer Barn to intervene when his colleagues were being beaten over N100 change and they started calling them yahoo boys and ritualists.

“My husband was inside the bar setting up instruments while two of his colleagues were the ones that patronised the motorcyclist and had an argument with the motorcyclist over N100.

“The motorcyclist had agreed to convey them to their destination for a fee of N400, but they gave the bike man N500. He told them he did not have N100 balance and Dave’s colleagues persuaded him to accept N300 which was the only money with them with the promise to balance him N100 next time they come to the area to play, but the motorcyclist refused. So, they started arguing.

“When the situation degenerated, some people ran inside to call the rest of the members of Legacy 360 band, which my husband was part of. They stepped out with the hope of rescuing them, but when they got there, they discovered that the motorcyclists were more than the number they could handle. My husband and others ran back into the bar, but instead of the manager to help them, he sent my husband back that he didn’t know him.

“My husband was not just beaten, they put tyres on him and set him ablaze as if he was a robber.

“I’m a civil servant, how much is my pay to take care of my children? My husband does two jobs just to take care of us; he worked in the morning as a sound engineer at Church of God Mission, Lekki and worked with Legacy 360 band on Thursdays and Fridays just to fend for us. My husband was not a ritualist.

“I need justice for my husband, He was our support.

I Have Been A LiverPool Fan From Childhood, Nnamdi Kanu Tells Court

I’ve Been A Liverpool Fan From Childhood, Nnamdi Kanu Tells Court

Leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, on Wednesday, told the Federal High Court, Abuja, that he had been a fan of Liverpool Football Club from childhood.

According to the News Agency Of Nigeria, Kanu disclosed this when his lawyer, Mike Ozekhome, SAN, complained that the Department of State Services had not been allowing him and other counsel enough time to meet with the IPOB leader whenever they visited him in detention.

After addressing his concern, Nyako jokingly mentioned that she was a fan of Liverpool and asked Ozekhome which club was his favourite. Ozekhome replied that he was also a Liverpool fan.

Nyako then asked Kanu if he was a fan of Chelsea Football Club given his penchant for the designer outfit he kept wearing to court.

Kanu responded, “My team is Liverpool even from age of seven.”

The judge then told the DSS legal director who was in court to allow Kanu to watch the matches of his favourite football club.

Meanwhile, the judge observed that Kanu had continued to show up in court in the same attire despite her order for him to change clothes.

Sit-At-Home: Flush Out Criminals, IPOB Tells Security Agencies

The Indigenous People of Biafra has asked security agencies in the country to act professionally in flushing out criminal elements in the South-East.

In a statement on Wednesday, the group’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, said those killed by soldiers in Iheoma and Amaifeke, Orlu LGA of Imo State were not IPOB members or Eastern Security Network operatives “because IPOB volunteers don’t enforce non-existent Monday sit-at-home”.

Powerful called on the stakeholders of the Eastern region to come together and fight the criminals trying to blackmail and demonise IPOB.

He pointed out that the hoodlums disturbing the South-East are not IPOB members and that the military should flush them out without tagging them IPOB members.

He said, “It is not in doubt that IPOB issued Monday sit-at-home order to solidarise with our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, but upon pleas by our mothers and elders based on its adverse effects on the economy of our people, we quickly rescinded it.

“Anyone still enforcing Monday sit-at-home is not a genuine IPOB member but a dissident and doesn’t deserve any mercy.”

He told the security agencies to stop referring to such dissidents as IPOB member, sayings they do not belong to the group.

The statement read in part, “It should be noted that IPOB volunteers are not in the market or streets, they know their duty posts – in the bushes and forests of Biafraland protecting our farmlands from the Fulani terrorists masquerading as herdsmen in our territory.

“It’s unfortunate that the Nigeria security agencies are turning the truth upside down because they want the public to believe they are working hard while in reality, they are pursuing an Islamist agenda.

“They kill innocent citizens on the streets and tag them IPOB members and ESN operatives. Nigeria’s army should leave the people of Orlu in peace and allow them to go about their daily business and focus on the terrorists and bandits in the North where killings are the order of the day.

“We remind them once again that IPOB is not responsible for these criminalities in the whole of Biafraland, including Iheoma and Amaifeke in Orlu. IPOB is not missing any of its members in Orlu.

“These criminals are kidnapping, snatching cars and killing innocent citizens claiming they are IPOB and ESN members while they are not. They deserve no mercy. They are not worthy to live. Whoever is sponsoring them should be brought to book.”

Treat Gunmen As Terrorists, APGA Tells Anambra Govt.

The All Progressives Grand Alliance has said that gunmen terrorising Anambra State and the entire South-East region should be treated as terrorists, without showing mercy to them.

The party also described the people hailing the actions of the gunmen as being “naive and senseless”, while urging the government and other relevant agencies to declare an emergency on them.

Addressing journalists in Awka on Wednesday, the National Coordinator, APGA Media Warriors Forum, Mr. Chinedu Obigwe, said it would be too detrimental if the gunmen were allowed to succeed in destroying the security architecture of the state.

Obigwe urged the people to cooperate with the administration of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo’s initiative of “If you see something, say something security initiative” so as to curb insecurity.
He said, “There is nothing like unknown gunmen because the perpetrators of the evil acts are human beings that live among us.

“If we cooperate with the government through the provision of intelligence report to our security agents on how to get these gunmen that masquerade as unknown gunmen, the mayhem they are unleashing in our beloved state will be a thing of the past.
“The undeniable truth is that the so-called unknown gunmen are terrorists and should be treated as terrorists without mercy. Some of our people hailing them are doing that out of naivety because if they succeed in destroying our security architecture, we are finished.”

He urged the people not to leave security in the hands of the government alone, especially as the gunmen had listed some local government areas for attacks.
“The gunmen that listed nine councils for attacks in Anambra should know that they have signed their death warrants because an adage says, ‘monkey will go market one day and the monkey will not come back.’ We are of the firm opinion that security is everybody’s business and not something that will be left for the government to be handled alone.

“Most importantly, we have to be security conscious and watch what happens around us very carefully. Perpetrators of crime use evil minded people around us to carry out their evil activities. When it comes to security of lives and properties, nobody can actually be trusted.
“Even some evil-minded security officials are complicit in the evil activities of these criminals and that is the reason we must be careful always.
“Our governor is doing his best to secure our lives and properties but we must support all he is doing as patriotic citizens.
“Let’s join hands with the government to nip the evil activities of the unknown gunmen terrorists in the bud in our state,” he stated.

Man Absconds From Marriage Ceremony Over Incessant Demands

Drama as bridegroom walks out of engagement ceremony in Isiala Ngwa due to extortion.

He paid N1,500,000 to cater for food, tents, chairs and a public address system.

He was also made to set aside N100,000 as the bride price that the two families had agreed on.

Okwudili was asked to add N50,000 to the bride price because he had already impregnated the girl.

He was slapped with a N10,000 fine for making a detour to the wrong path and ending up in a different homestead instead of the girl’s.

He was also asked to pay N15,000 to appease the elders who had become tired of waiting for his arrival.

Drama however ensued when twelve girls covered in loose robes from head to toe were paraded before Okwudili and he was asked to guess who his fiancée was.

He pointed at the wrong woman and that led to yet another fine of N15,000 three times.

The decisive moment specifically was when the elders demanded for a refund of the total sum of N850,000 that had been paid as the girl’s school fees and upkeep since she started primary school!

Fuming with anger which he tried his best to hide, Okwudili excused himself to visit a nearby toilet and disappeared!

He switched off his phone and was last seen in a bus heading to Lagos

Reset Nigeria And Devolve Powers Fayemi Urges

Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, on Tuesday, urged for the reorganisation of Nigeria to correct the challenges facing the country.

He also reaffirmed his stance that Nigeria needed “an all-round reset”, necessary for national rebirth, considering its plethora of challenges.

Fayemi, who is the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum and presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress in the 2023 elections, stated these at the annual lecture series of Leadership Newspapers Group with the theme: “Resetting Nigeria: Culture, Politics, Geography and the Role of Big Ideas.”

The event was attended by dignitaries including Vice President Yemi Osinbajo (SAN); Governor of Gombe State, Muhammad Inua Yahaya; Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed and Minister of the FCT, Mohammed Musa Bello.

Fayemi, who admitted that reforming a political system was a “permanent work in progress”, said that Nigeria did not need a make-shift and short-term approach which would only resolve “some immediate problems for a season”.

He said greater attention should be beamed on issues such as strengthening the Local Government system, devolution of more powers over internal security, decentralisation of the polity, and the adoption of fiscal federalism which would be fair to all.

Fayemi said, “I would like to suggest that there are many domains of a national reset which we need to pay attention to than we have done before. These include deepening of the decentralisation of the polity, the strengthening of the local government system, the devolution of more powers over internal safety and security of the states and the adoption of a fairer system of fiscal federalism, the pan-Nigerianisation of citizenship rights on the basis of place of residence, the pursuit of new approaches to diversity management, the autonomisation of the legislative and judicial arms of government, a wholesome reform of the judicial system, the revamp of the civil service for radically more efficient delivery to citizens, and an institutionalised zero-tolerance approach to the fight against corruption.”

The Governor opined that those were the crux of the changes which Nigerians had been advocating for.

According to him, when leadership can understand the challenges and summons the will and courage to surmount them, the belief of Nigerians in the viability of the Nigerian project would become rekindled.

Fayemi called on Nigerians not to lose hope but rise to do the right thing so that “we can open a new chapter in our journey of unfinished greatness.”

Simeon Ikpa Is Not Representing Ipob -Charles Ogbu

After Anambra state governor, Charles Soludo visited Nnamdi Kanu in DSS custody as part of his hunt for peace, Simon Ekpa who has his own armed ESN militia for which he keeps raising money and leads a group known as the ‘Auto-pilot’ which claims to be agitating for Biafra, made a live broadcast threatening fire and brimstone against Soludo. Less than 24 hours later (yesterday, Sunday 15th), mayhem was unleashed on major parts of Anambra state:

Onitsha federal housing, 33 and GRA came under attack by Ungun Known Men. Idemmili North L.G headquarters, PHCN and Magistrate court were set afire while a sitting house of Assembly member representing governor Soludo’s own constituency was kidnapped.

At this point, we just have to tell ourselves the truth:

What is going on in the Southeast especially Anambra state IS NO LONGER BIAFRA AGITATION. IT IS PURE TERR0RISM. And governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo MUST TREAT IT AS SUCH. Simon Ekpa is simply a job man working for some interest to destabilise Anambra state. He doesn’t really care about Biafra and neither does he care about Nnamdi Kanu. He is simply using Biafra agitation as a cover to ply his ev!l trade.

Another uncomfortable truth we have to face here is, Simon Ekpa is pursuing a certain dark agenda against Anambra as a state. If you can’t see this, you really haven’t been paying attention.

In the entire Southeast, there is no governor that is more Fuulani-friendly and anti-Biafra than Governor David Nweze Umahi of Ebonyi state, Simon Ekpa’s home state. But how many times have you heard Ekpa attack Ebonyi state or the governor the way he does Soludo and Anambra??

As earlier as 2017, at a time most Igbo people were scared to be linked to Kanu, Soludo, as a member of a foremost Igbo Think Tank, Nzuko Umunna to which I belong, led a delegation made up of prof. Chidi Odinkalu, Tony Nnadi , Law Mefor et al to visit the IPOB leader in Kuje prison on behalf of the Think Tank group. They thereafter addressed a World Press conference categorically telling the FG that while the Igbos agree that Kanu is not above the law, they would also not sit back and watch him treated beneath the law. Since assuming office, Soludo has pandered to the agitating groups more than any other Southeast governor. He has called for Kanu’s release. He has even visited him. And remember, Soludo was not in power when python dance happened so he couldn’t have been a part of the governors who mismanaged the Biafra agitation

So why exactly is Simon Ekpa so fixated on Soludo and Anambra state? The answer is simple; Ekpa is not interested in Biafra or Kanu’s release. In fact, he wants Kanu to r0t in jail so he could take over. For him, THIS IS PURE BUSINESS. USING NNAMDI KANU’S OWN PLAYBOOK AND BLUEPRINT of violent rhetorics, puerile propaganda, paranoia and foolhardiness of insisting on self-destructive path which majority of the mob interpret as being CONSISTENT, the Ebonyi-born finnish ex-soldier has almost succeeded with his soft coup against IPOB leadership led by Chika Edoziem and Emma Powerful. Now, majority of the mob who saw the agitation as a class warfare and would love to see everything destr0yed so we could all start afresh, now listen to him. And with his own armed ESN and a radio channel, it appears his coup is almost complete. Now he gets to collects donation directly from diasporan Igbos WHO ARE MAINLY THE ONES FUNDING THIS VIOLENCE thinking they are supporting Biafra and still collect from his real masters.

A betting man would bet that having seen Soludo’s intimidating plans to transform Anambra, some outside interest may have hired Simon Ekpa to destabilise the state and make sure the governor is never allowed to focus on development. As it happens, I am a betting man. Remember, Ekpa is a politician in Finland. Matter of fact, he contested the last election in that country. After IPOB repeatedly cancelled the Monday sit-at-home and even Nnamdi Kanu himself spoke against the sit-at-home through his lawyers, it was the same Ekpa who continued to insist it must go on despite the unmentionable cost in human and material resources Igbos have suffered as a result of that moronic policy. It was Ekpa who was against the Anambra election even after IPOB saw reason and reverse its ‘No-Election’ order. The k!ll!ng of INEC staff member in Imo was hailed by Ekpa and his Autopilot.

What else do we need to know that this Simon Ekpa is actually working against the collective interest of Ndigbo???

Gov. Chukwuma Soludo Visited Mazi NNAMDI KANU To Felicitate With Him.

It’s a great news to see and hear that our Anambara Governor visited Mazi NNAMDI KANU currently in detention. Oh his words released on his Facebook wall says.

“I visited Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, yesterday, (Friday, 13th May, 2022) to felicitate with him and also as part of the wider consultations with critical stakeholders in search of lasting peace and security in the South East.

He was in very high spirits and we had quality and frank discussion in a very convivial atmosphere. He expressed sadness over what he described as “sacrilegious killings” of innocent persons, kidnappings and all forms of criminalities, including the brutal enforcement of the senseless “sit at home” perpetuated by sundry groups claiming to be acting for or on behalf of IPOB. He assured that if the opportunity arises, he will be glad to personally broadcast to his followers to maintain the peace.”

Together, we shall restore peace, security and prosperity in Anambra and the Southeast.

It is well indeed!

IMHA 2023: More Endorsement For Ideato North Aspirant, Ngoforo

AS PDP PRIMARY ELECTION INCHES CLOSER

By Emma Uzoaru

Groups after groups have continued to pledge their support to the frontline PDP aspirant for Ideato North Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, Franklin Ngoforo. This is coming barely a week after a major grassroots movement, Oganihu Ideato, endorsed the youthful entrepreneur.

Ideato North Youth Forum (INYF) and representatives of many market associations in Ideato North on Wednesday similarly pledged their unwavering support for the candidacy of Ngoforo at the Arondizuogu residence of the accomplished management consultant.

Recall that the PDP primary election for State House of Assembly has been scheduled for Saturday, May 18th, 2023, and Ngoforo is among the aspirants cleared and certified by the screening committee of the party to stand for the primary election.

Ngoforo in his remarks appreciated the groups for their support and assured them that his vision for Ideato North is to turn around the dwindling fortunes of the people.

He said the currency of the new age is human capital development, and regretted that political leaders in Ideato have failed to prioritize sustainable human capacity building for the youths.

The Arondizuogu-born philanthropist and real estate mogul also stated that the biggest asset every society has is in the minds of its people, and added that modern economy has become knowledge-driven, hence the need for Ideato youths to remain competitive globally.

“Political leadership has failed here to intervene and create the enabling environment so as to unleash the potentials of our youths. We must therefore organize ourselves, communicate with one another and begin to increasing address our challenges and lift our people out of poverty. I began this individually. I sent twenty-two of our youths to the United Kingdom for studies. You all already know about that. Just last year, I sent another sixteen to South Africa. We must now organize ourselves to achieve even more.

Ideato North is blessed. We have arable land, healthy population. And we have unbelievable talents in all sectors. All that is needed is the proper harnessing of those skills. That is the only key that can unlock our enormous potentials as a people, and that is the core essence of this project we have begun today.

“The secret of all prosperous societies is that they invest in developing the capacity of their people. They provide incentives to challenge the inventiveness of the minds of the people. As a kid in this place, we had many functional factories and industries here in Ideato North. But today they have all gone moribund. We must therefore realize the our land has not progressed over the years because of leadership failure and our inability to think home. We must therefore change that. Training our people in viable skills and making them sustainably self-reliant is a task we must achieve,” he vowed.

Earlier in his address, the president of the Forum, Ebuka Okoli, said they were motivated to back the aspiration of Ngoforo given the latter’s deep insight into the problems of the people and his sincere efforts over the years to addressing them. He pleaded with all stakeholders in Ideato North to join the project to make offer quality and result-oriented representation to the people and to make Ideato North great again.

Mr Bamidele said the event leading to the murder occurred when the deceased asked for more sex.

“She said she pushed him away, which resulted in him knocking her head against a stool that had a glass,” he said.

“Having sustained injury on the head and knees, there was a struggle between them and she said she managed to lay hands on a kitchen knife with which she stabbed the deceased on the neck twice. Tunisia’s Ons Jabeur Delivers Thrilling Comeback To Make Rome Semis

Ons Jabeur is in the semis of the women’s draw after bouncing back from being a game away from defeat to beat Maria Sakkari 1-6, 7-5, 6-1.

Tunisian Jabeur made history last weekend by winning in Madrid to become the first Arab or African player to claim a WTA 1000 title and let out a roar of delight after a magnificent win at the Foro Italico.

The 27-year-old looked certain to be heading out after being hammered by world number four Sakkari in the first set and going down 5-2 in the second.

Greece’s Sakkari was serving for what appeared to be a routine win but from nowhere Jabeur pushed back, breaking serve in game eight before winning the next seven to go three ahead in set three, a lead which she never relinquished.

“In my head at 5-2 I said, You cannot finish those two weeks, those amazing almost three weeks, like this,” Jabeur told reporters.

“To back up the performance from Madrid, it’s very important for me… It’s one of the reasons why I’m here, why I want to continue showing myself on the court.”

In the last four, Jabeur will face Daria Kasatkina, who went through after Switzerland’s Jil Teichmann retired injured while the Russian was leading 6-4, 3-2.

Earlier Iga Swiatek stretched her winning streak to 26 matches after a straight-sets victory over Bianca Andreescu, 7-6 (7/2), 6-0.

The world number one, bidding for a fifth consecutive tournament triumph, will face Aryna Sabalenka after the third seed won 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 against Amanda Anisimova.

It’s Time To Fix Nigeria – Peter Obi

A presidential aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mr Peter Obi, says it’s time to work and fix Nigeria.

He stated this on Friday in Calabar during his meeting with delegates ahead of the party’s forthcoming presidential primary.

Obi, who said that if elected president, he would replace sharing formula of monthly allocation with a production formula, added that everybody must be productive for the nation to survive.

The former governor of Anambra State said, “Nigeria is a nation of over 200 million people with about 100 million living in poverty, over 18 million out of school children out of which about 10 million are girls.

“We have 35 per cent unemployment rate and if we add underemployment it will rise to over 50 per cent, many of which are youths in their productive age, so we cannot be celebrating.”

Obi further stated that borrowing as a nation was not wrong as the largest economies in the world such as America were also in debt but lamented Nigeria was borrowing for consumption.

“The consequences of borrowing for consumption today is that Nigeria is spending over 90 per cent of its revenue to service debt without much production to show.

“Exporting crude oil has not saved Venezuela or any country, we need to invest in our massive land mass and grow our economy like other nations such as Singapore, Vietnam and even Morocco has done with tourism,” he said.

In his response, Chairman of PDP in Cross River Mr Venatius Ikem, said, “I believe if you become president, Nigeria will have a turnaround, I however don’t expect Nigerians to just wish but express their wishes through their support for Peter Obi.”

Yahaya Bello Is Still In Presidential Race Says Campaign Organization

The Hope ’23 Yahaya Bello Presidential Campaign Organisation has described as fake reports that Governor Yahaya Bello, who submitted his completed presidential form on Thursday, had also picked a Senate form.
The Campaign Organisation described the report as a laughable concoction of desperate aspirants who would do anything to be in the shoes of Bello, the leading contender in the 2023 presidential race.

The Director, Media and Publicity, Yahaya Bello Presidential Campaign Organisation, Yemi Kolapo, urged the media to always do their checks thoroughly and not play into the hands of those she described as “out-paced politicians seeking to pull down serious contenders with fake and utterly mischievous reports.”

She said, “As we stand today in the build-up to the All Progressives Congress’ primary elections, our Principal, Governor Yahaya Bello’s popularity, among critical stakeholders, party members in general, and Nigerians as a whole, is unparalleled.

“Who among the aspirants has an office address? Let them come and visit the headquarters of the Yahaya Bello Presidential Campaign Office and see that we are ready to move to Aso Rock after our father, President Buhari. Governor Bello bought Senate form? A lie from the pit of hell.

“Our consultations across all the states of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory, have shown that the next election will only favour a man of the people. Our highly experienced and noble party leaders know that the only consideration is about winning election and will field the right candidate that will enable the party to retain power.

That candidate is Governor Yahaya Bello.
“We can say, conservatively, that more than half of APC delegates are with us. The people have decided to vote their conscience and are yearning for a loyal leader with the capacity to build on the successes of President Muhammadu Buhari and take Nigeria to the desired destination.

“It is disheartening that some people can still resort to this kind of intellectually deficit strategy to make themselves relevant in an arena where they definitely have no seats.

“We know the sponsors of this report and urge them with every sense of decency to retrace their steps and work on picking the pieces of their fast crumbling political bricks instead of engaging in petty, outdated “pull them down” gimmicks.

“I want to assure Nigerians and the teeming supporters of Governor Yahaya Bello – the youths, women, people with special needs, and indeed all Nigerians, at home and abroad, that if there will be one individual left in the presidential race, that individual would be our Principal, Governor Yahaya Bello.”

Israel Police Storm Hospital As Journalist’s Body Emerges Before Burial

Israeli forces stormed a Jerusalem hospital grounds Friday as the coffin containing the body of a slain journalist emerged ahead of burial, with police saying they acted against people “disrupting the public order.”

TV images showed Al Jazeera reporter Shireen Abu Akleh’s coffin nearly falling to the ground as police grabbed Palestinian flags from the crowd around the procession outside Saint Joseph’s hospital in Israeli-annexed east Jerusalem.

Israel forbids public displays of Palestinian flags and often storms individuals who hoist them at rallies or protests in the city.

A senior Palestinian figure, Hanan Ashrawi, tweeted that “savage #Israeli ‘special forces’ viciously attack the funeral procession bearing the coffin” of Abu Akleh as it left St. Joseph’s.

“The inhumanity (of) Israel is on full display”, said the former top Palestine Liberation Organisation official.

In a statement, police said they had held dialogue with Abu Akleh’s family ahead of time in order to “enable a respectable funeral.

“Unfortunately, under the auspices of the funeral and taking cynical advantage of it, hundreds of people began disrupting the public order before it even began,” police said.

“As the coffin was about to exit the hospital, stones began to be thrown at officers from the hospital’s plaza, and the officers were forced to use riot dispersal means,” the statement added.

Police also released a video in which an officer, outside the hospital grounds, is addressing the crowd over a loudspeaker.

“If you don’t stop these chants and (Palestinians) nationalistic songs we will have to disperse you using force and we won’t let the funeral take place,” the officer says in the video.

Abu Akleh’s coffin left the hospital grounds by vehicle and had arrived at a Jerusalem church for her funeral.

She was killed Wednesday while covering clashes between Israeli forces and Palestinian gunmen in Jenin in the occupied West Bank.

Sokoto: Northern Christian Group Demands Arrest, Prosecution Of Deborah’s Killers

The Northern Christian Elders Forum has condemned the murder of Deborah Samuel, a 200-level student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, for allegedly blaspheming Prophet Muhammad.

The NOSCEF in a statement by its Chairman, Ejoga Inalegwu, in Kaduna on Friday, called on the government to immediately apprehend and make an example of those who perpetrated the dastardly act.
The Christian group noted that anything short of apprehending and prosecuting those involved in the heinous act was unacceptable.

According to them, the act was purely a murder in the robe of religion, adding that NOSCEF roundly condemned the brutal murder of the young girl.
The group added, “The death of Debora Yakubu (Samuel) is one too many by mobs wearing a cloak of religion in the North. In a country where there is a law, nobody, group or individuals has a right to take another’s life whatsoever, outside the due process of law.

“We also urge the government to make a public example and make a new statement by quickly bringing the perpetrators to book.
“This will (should) not be the usual rhetoric of condemnations and then the case is swept under the carpet with publicised arrests, no prosecution or jaundiced prosecution and letting off the hook, when the outcries die down.
“One day it is the videoed execution of Christians in the North because of a said killing of a terrorist in Syria, and next what should have been an internal WhatsApp class platform chat results in mob action murder, wearing the robe of religion in our dear North.

“NOSCEF commiserates with the family of Deborah Yakubu (Samuel) in their period of grief and this avoidable pain, and urge Nigerians to rally round them to comfort and lessen their grief.”

The Nigerian Girl Who Slept With Dogs Dies Of Infection

The young lady, simply identified as Mirabel who trended in a viral video having sex with a dog in the Lekki area of Lagos has reportedly died of infection at a private hospital in Yaba.

As reported by Daily Independent online edition, and several online news platforms on May 10, 2022, it was learnt she died of canine brucellosis on Monday.

The reportages which has assumed viral dimension have it that an eyewitness said the lady had been on admission since Sunday last week after she collapsed and went into a coma.

It was also added that the deceased confessed to the doctor when the test result showed that she was suffering from what looks like canine brucellosis, and which can only be contracted from a dog. According to the medic, canine brucellosis is a contagious bacterial infection caused by the bacterium, Brucella Canis (B. canis).

She said bacterial infection is highly contagious among dogs. Infected dogs usually develop an infection of the reproductive system or a sexually transmitted disease.

“The lady had other underlying infections which were worsened by the presence of B. canis.

“She told my boss that she had been having sex with dogs for more than three years now.”

The doctor in charge of the hospital said: “This should be a private matter. How did you get to hear that? Of course, we lost a patient today (Monday) at our hospital and that is all I can say for now. You can go back to whoever gave you the information and get details. I am busy now; thank you,” he was quoted to have said.

At this juncture, it is expedient to say that Nigerians will not easily forget how Mirabel, alias Veegodess made a viral TikTok video claiming she slept with a dog for N1.7 million, but later recant her confession by saying that she was merely “catching cruise”, a slang for joking.

She had claimed in the video, that contrary to what people think about sleeping with a dog, that she had never contracted any disease.

“What is the big deal there? I only slept with a dog, I didn’t kill somebody. You, in your life, you have done worse and besides, have you seen N1.7million before? As if it’s a big deal. And mind you, I’m not infected or anything. Stop dying on the matter, I’m enjoying the money”, she stated in the first video.

But following backlash from Nigerians who condemned her for the act, the lady recanted. She posted two more videos in which she debunked her earlier claim, begging Nigerians for forgiveness.

“An Insult” Jonathan Rejects APC Presidential Form

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has rejected the presidential form of the All Progressives Congress purchased for him on Monday by a group of his supporters from the north.

Dr Jonathan’s Media Adviser, Ikechukwu Eze, said in a statement hours after the news that the group had bought the form broke that the former did not authorise the purchase and consider the move by the group ‘an insult’.

“We wish to categorically state that Dr Jonathan was not aware of this bid and did not authorise it,” the statement read in part.

“We want to state that if the former President wanted to contest an election, he would make his intentions clear to the public and will not enter through the back door.”

In recent months, there have been increased speculations about whether the former President will run for his old post in in the 2023 general elections and there have been calls for him to do so.

But the former President has yet to state whether he would contest or not.

“While we appreciate the overwhelming request by a cross-section of Nigerians, for Dr Jonathan to make himself available for the 2023 Presidential election, we wish to state, that he has not in anyway, committed himself to this request,” Eze said.

“Buying a presidential aspiration form in the name Dr Jonathan without his consent, knowing the position he had held in this country, is considered an insult to his person. The general public is therefore advised to disregard it.”

A coalition of northern groups purchased the APC presidential nomination form and the expression of interest form at the International Conference Centre in Abuja, informing journalists that it was for Dr Jonathan.

Sporting fez caps with the inscription ‘run Jonathan run’, members of the coalition said the former president is the most qualified person to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.

In rejecting the forms, Dr Jonathan kept his plans close to his chest.

The purchase of the forms was the latest move in efforts by people who identify as his supporters to get him to contest.

In April, a crowd of supporters had held a rally, calling on him to join the race.

Addressing them he said, “Yes, you are calling me to come and declare for the 2023 presidency, yes I can’t tell I am declaring; the political process is ongoing, just watch out,” he said at the time.

If elected as President again, Jonathan can only serve for one term of four years, according to the constitution.

He was first elected in 2011 after completing the tenure of Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.

2023: We Didn’t Buy Form For Jonathan, Says CNG

Pan-Arewa socio-political organisation under the aegis of the Coalition of Northern Groups has described as mischievous, reports that it bought forms for former President Goodluck Jonathan for him to pursue his 2023 presidential ambition under the platform of the All Progressives Congress.

The organisation said it was still committed to the search for a competent, credible Nigerian leader with the capacity to justly and fairly take all citizens through and out of the current limitations of the country.

The spokesperson of CNG, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, made the clarification in a disclaimer sent to journalists on Monday night titled: ‘Report that we bought forms for Jonathan mischievous – CNG.’

He said, “The attention of the Coalition of Northern Groups has been drawn to a piece of a deliberately confusing report that has been trending since early evening of Monday, May 9.

“We are particularly worried that the report which purportedly suggests that CNG has purchased the presidential nomination forms for former President Goodluck Jonathan was broadcast by such reputable outlets as the Channels Television.

“We are therefore compelled to make the following clarifications for the benefit of the media and the general public: We have since advanced from being addressed as an obscure Coalition and assumed the status of a proper name, having made a mark as the strongest voice in Northern Nigeria.

“For a very long time, CNG has come to be properly addressed as ‘The Coalition of Northern Groups’ and no longer “A Coalition of Northern Groups’ as featured in the trending report.

“We are aware of the recent proliferation of coalitions across the North and in Nigeria as a whole (mostly out of mischief), but we make bold to say categorically that the Coalition of Northern Groups has never since inception been involved in partisanship not to mention picking a particular candidate and purchasing forms for him.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the CNG is still committed to the search for a competent, credible Nigerian leader with the capacity to justly and fairly take all of us through and out of our current limitations.

“We advise the newborn coalitions to device a means of identification quite apart from the CNG and appreciate the concerns of our followers and supporters who have been calling us for clarification.”

W’Cup Qualifier: FIFA okays Brazil vs Argentina Replay

FIFA on Monday confirmed the abandoned 2022 World Cup qualifier between Brazil and Argentina will be replayed, after rejecting appeals from both national federations.

Brazilian health officials stormed the pitch seven minutes into the clash on September 5 between the South American giants in Sao Paulo, stopping the match and triggering a melee involving team officials and players.

According to Brazil’s National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA), four Argentine players based at English clubs at the time should have been placed in “immediate quarantine” for breaching Covid-19 protocols.

FIFA in February ordered a replay and banned Cristian Romero and then club-mate Giovani Lo Celso of Tottenham, and Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez and Emiliano Buendia for two matches.

World football’s governing body also handed a series of fines to the two national football federations, prompting both to lodge appeals.

FIFA’s disciplinary committee upheld the 50,000 Swiss franc ($50,342) fines imposed on both as a result of the abandonment.

However, it reduced a separate 500,000 Swiss franc fine given to the Brazilian FA to 250,000 Swiss francs, and halved the Argentine FA’s initial fine of 200,000 Swiss francs.

Argentina’s football association said it would “request today the grounds for both decisions” before appealing to the Court of Arbitration for Sport against its second fine and the decision to re-play the match.

Brazil and Argentina have already qualified for the World Cup in Qatar later this year.

OPAC Bans Uzodinma From Seeking Re-Election Over Insecurity And Loss Of Oil Well

The apex political group in Orlu Zone, Orlu Political Action Committee (OPAC), views with great displeasure and pain the news of the eventual loss of 17 oil wells to Rivers State, which ought to belong to Imo State. This is consequent upon yesterday’s ruling of the Supreme Court.

For us, this loss is occasioned primarily by the inability of the regime of Chief Hope Uzodinma to prioritize the legal battle and deploy other relevant political tools in asserting ownership over the land and its accompanying resources. As Orlu people, it is deeply unacceptable and unpardonable that our ancestral land has been taken away from us right under the watch of a man who lays dubious claim to the sonship of Orlu. It is disheartening to note that while the litigation lasted, Chief Uzodinma lost focus and instead busied himself with frivolities and shameful political razzmatazz.

In a press release which a copy obtained by Gisthub24.com and signed by the publicity secretary Barr. NNAMDI Maduka on 7th May, 2022, OPAC regrets that this unfortunate development has become a negative corollary to Uzodinma’s failure to address the festering insecurity in Imo State. In the last few days, countless lives, including those of law enforcement personnel, have been lost. What is really worrisome is that the so-called helmsman of Imo has remained clueless over these killings. The inept regime has continually blamed everyone else and everything else for killings but has neither budged about addressing the issue in a sustainable manner nor taken responsibility for its indefensible inability to protect the lives and property of our people.

Much of our territory in Orlu Zone, has today become uninhabitable. There are now more internally displaced persons in Orlu Zone than the entire Borno State. No investor thinks Orlu anymore. Businesses have shuttered. Basic amenities are sorely lacking. Personal safety in Orlu today has become a mirage, and violent deaths have become as constant as the sun.

OPAC therefore finds it embarrassing, outrageous and condemnable that even in the face of these tragedies, Chief Uzodinma has begun plotting and putting up structures to pursue a second term ambition. This is an open and unabashed assault on the memories of our departed brothers and sisters who died untimely as a result of the irresponsibility of the people in power. We cannot allow these ravages, miseries and agonies in our to continue apace.

OPAC therefore places a perpetual ban on Chief Hope Uzodinma from seeking re-election as governor, contesting any other election in future or holding any other public office upon the expiration of his current office. Any political party that is dealing with Chief Uzodinma should be aware that the collective wrath of Orlu people awaits such party.

Also, OPAC mandates all indigenes of Orlu Zone who are serving the regime of Chief Uzodinma to immediately resign their positions and seek atonement and forgiveness from the people. Whoever that comes from Orlu and serves a regime that brings tears to our people is a traitor who must be exposed and committed to the hall of shame.

Finally, OPAC hereby withdraws and strips away off all awards, honours and recognitions bestowed upon Chief Uzodinma and all members of his chaotic regime from Orlu Zone by all Orlu groups, bodies and associations.

PDP Ward Congress In Imo Remains Inconclusive

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State feels the urgency to dispel the rumor being circulated on the social media, that the ward congresses of our great party in the State had come and gone and the results already declared. It is pressing, too, that we inform members of the party and the public alike to be wary of the activities of some fifth columnists who peddle fake and incendiary stories aimed at stoking the flames of discord, acrimony and rancour.

In a press release obtained by Gisthub24.com and signed by the state publicity secretary Mazi Emenike Meregini states that the party wishes to restate that, in strict adherence to the party’s Constitution and Guidelines for Primaries, the PDP in Imo State, on Saturday, April 30th, 2022 prepared, mobilized our members and kicked off congresses at the 305 electoral Wards of the State to elect the three-man ad hoc delegates.

The exercise had gone on almost seamlessly in much of the State. The options of consensus, harmonization and actually voting were deployed in the various areas as the stakeholders and leaders deemed acceptable and convenient.

What, however, brought about a setback was when the five-man Electoral Panel for the congresses sent by the PDP National Secretariat to conduct the exercise could not produce and display the result sheets. Upon intense persuasion, they eventually displayed only twenty-five sheets. Two were missing, and they were those of Ideato North and South. Meanwhile, the exercise had almost been concluded in most of the Wards awaiting collation of results.

The bizarre disappearance of the result sheets, coupled with the incoherent, jejune and puerile explanations by the Panel, consequently raised a very serious question about the integrity of the team from the National Secretariat.

Stakeholders feared that the process might have been compromised, and that necessitated the collective resolution to allow the Department of State Services (DSS) in Owerri to take custody of the results since the exercise could not proceed as planned with incomplete result sheets.

It is further pertinent to highlight that the next day, Sunday, the Panel Members made attempts at the DSS office to abscond with the result sheets. They had no plans to conclude the exercise anymore in Imo State. They blatantly refused to even come to the State Secretariat of the Party in Owerri. Rather, they made moves to jet out to Abuja with the result sheets. But their plot was resisted by officers and members of Imo State PDP, who then solicited the intervention of the DSS, which graciously accepted to continue to keep the result sheets in its custody. These result sheets are still with the DSS till this moment, and nothing has changed.

The Party therefore calls on our members and supporters to remain calm and steadfast, confident that the issues will soon be resolved. Party leaders are further advised to tame the overzealousness of their aides and refrain from false statements that are capable of undermining the peace in the party.

I Will Handover To A Person Who Nigerian Will Elect

President Muhammadu Buhari has reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to a free, fair and transparent electoral process in 2023.

This is as he again charged heads of military and other security agencies to rise up to their responsibilities, go after terrorists troubling the nation and eliminate them.

He stated this, yesterday, after observing the Eid prayers at the Mambila Barracks Parade Ground, Abuja in commemoration of this year’s Sallah celebration.

Asked who he would hand over to in 2023, Buhari replied: “The person that Nigerians elect.”

The president said his administration would continue to work to make the country safe for Nigerians. He said it was important to make the country safe, especially with the onset of the rainy season so that farmers are assured of their safety as they return to their farms to boost food security in the country.

“Heads of the services; Army, Navy, Air Force, the Inspector-General of Police and so on, are very much aware of the situation. It’s their duties to know where the terrorists are and eliminate them.”

Meanwhile, Buhari has confirmed that terrorists were behind the Abuja-Kaduna train attacks, and 62 in captivity were being used as human shields by the criminals.

Buhari, said this when he received some FCT residents at State House on Sallah homage Monday, assuring that the government would explore every opportunity to secure the captives, alive and unhurt.

He particularly assured families that efforts were ongoing to ensure safe return of all those being held by the terrorists, directing security agencies and the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) to provide more regular and detailed information to the families of the victims.

“As we celebrate this occasion with joy amidst friends and family members, we are fully conscious of the fact that many families in our country are in a state of fear and anxiety on account of the many captives held by terrorists against their will, including those taken away after the tragic bombing of the Abuja – Kaduna train.

“I have directed security agencies to ensure quick and safe recovery of all victims of kidnapping. I urge the railway management to immediately set up a situation room for the coordination of the rescue mission and for a minute by minute engagement with the families of the captives.

“This should ease their pain and anxiety as we push the military to finding a safe return to their families. My aim is to see all those in captivity safely rescued.”

“Let me assure Nigerians that the bandits are just pushing their luck, but this is only for a while before they are finally crushed. They are using civilians as human shields, thereby making it difficult to confront them directly,” he said.

According to the President, bandits and terrorists, unlike professional soldiers, don’t respect the rules of engagement and could resort to harming hostages when attacked.

“They don’t care about killing their hostages if they come under attack. It’s a delicate situation that requires wisdom, caution and also patience. Any rescue operation that results in the death of any hostage cannot be deemed a success.

“The government doesn’t want this kind of tragic outcome. It’s a complex situation that demands proper handling. The primary objective of any rescue operation is to free the hostages safely, unharmed and alive.”

IMHA 2023: Ngoforo Is Our Choice Ideato Town Unions Declares Support For PDP

By Jude Opara, Owerri

All the town unions in Ideato North under the auspices Council of Former Presidents-General of Town Unions (CFPGTU), have endorsed the candidacy of Franklin Ngoforo, a frontline aspirant for Ideato North Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

The endorsement was conveyed in an address read out by the group’s coordinator, Chief Godwin Nwankwo, when they paid a solidarity visit to the aspirant, Ngoforo, at his country home in Arondizuogu, last Saturday.

The group said the endorsement was informed by their painstaking assessment of all the aspirants in the race, and added that Ngoforo stands out as the most informed, dedicated, passionate and humane of all to turn around the fortunes of the people of Ideato North. They also urged all and sundry to support him in the interest of development of Ideato North.

In his response, the accomplished management consultant, Franklin Ngoforo, stated that the summary of the economic setback in Ideato North hinges on poor political representation in the past which failed to put in place the associated infrastructure necessary for economic growth. The youthful entrepreneur insisted that Ideato North has the needed human and natural endowments to become the industrial, commercial and agricultural hub of the entire South East.

“But when you consider the fact that Ideato North is linked to Anambra State through Aguata and it is a short distance to from Isiochi in Abia State and a thoroughfare to Enugu State through Okigwe-Port Harcourt express route, you see a great opportunity for development of industries whose products could be marketed in these neighbouring states. But the road infrastructure to make this happen was never put in place by successive administrations.

“The key players in Nigeria’s pharmaceutical sector are mostly from Ideato North, yet there is no single pharmaceutical industry in our land. All existing factories have all gone comatose because the enabling environment was never created.

“Ideato North is particularly endowed with a natural irrigation channel and arable land suitable for rice farming. At Ohia Uchu, and, indeed throughout Arondizuogu, we see agricultural potentials yet untapped in view of dearth of policy, lack of farm inputs, improved crop variety and seedlings, lack of implements; and inaccessibility of information. Ideato North has the capacity to make the South East self-sufficient rice production and at the same time create job opportunities for the vast majority of the unemployed youth population.

“Access to agricultural credit is positively linked to productivity. Yet this vital input has eluded smallholder farmers in Ideato North. Banks with large loan funds are generally difficult to access. Issues of collateral and high interest rates screen out most rural smallholders. Again, when these loans are available, in paltry sums though, they are short-term, with fixed repayment periods which can never suit annual cropping and livestock production. And over time, the political officeholders from Ideato North have not done much to rev up the productivity of the people by intervening and facilitating farm credit,” he said.

Ngoforo further hinted that what Ideato North requires is an agricultural policy that will create wealth and expand job opportunities by intervening and facilitating job and wealth creation through the entire agricultural value chain.

For him, “Seed multiplication farms – livestock and fish breeding centers – should be established under Public-Private Partnership to facilitate access to high-yielding, disease-resistant inputs. Thousands of hectares of land should be put under cultivation which will be allotted to young school leavers trained as ‘agripreneurs’. An integral part of this policy will be to train service providers and extension workers,” he stated.

Recall that Ngoforo Foundation had two years ago earmarked a whopping sum of one hundred million Naira as scholarship and youth empowerment funds for the people of Ideato North and in April this year sent additional twenty-seven undergraduate and postgraduate students abroad for an all-expense paid scholarship scheme.

Chairman Governors’ Forum And Ekiti State Governor Visits His Anambara State Counterpart

The Governor of Ekiti State, and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, His Excellency, Dr Kayode Fayemi paid a courtesy call on me today at the Anambra State Governor’s lodge, Amawbia.

He came bearing good tidings from the “Fountain of Knowledge”. Part of our strategic engagement as a Government is to forge good relations with other subnationals across the country. Ekiti is one State with great human resource capital, just like Anambra, this is one of our commonality. And we can only seek mutually benefitting ways of harnessing this priced heritage.

I welcome my brother Governor to the “Light of the Nation”. Of course he got a taste of “Nkwụ enu” from Awgbu. I know he will come again.God bless Anambra State.

OPAC Endorses Odunze For House Of Reps – Call On PDP Delegates To Vote Him

ORLU/ORSU/ORU EAST 2023:

By Ikem Obioma

A youthful entrepreneur, Uchenna Ben Odunze, has been adopted by a pan-Orlu political umbrella group, Orlu Political Action Committee (OPAC) as the most credible and competent candidate to represent Orlu/Orsu/Oru East in the House of Representatives come 2023.

This endorsement was contained in a release signed by the spokesperson of the group, Dr. Chris Onyema, and made available to newsmen in Orlu on Sunday.

It reads in part, “After a thorough screening of all the aspirants vying to represent our Federal Constituency come next near, we have resolved to give our full endorsement to Ben Odunze because of his untainted credibility, character, competence and resourcefulness. Ben is a youth who has created value and opened up vast opportunities for many in the various sectors of the economy, including the real estate sector. He is of sound intellect, well educated, honest, diligent and eloquent. He is everything we need in a lawmaker.

“We therefore urge the delegates of the party with which he is aspiring, which is the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), to stand firmly and solidly behind him, given his lofty vision for our land,” the statement says.

Meanwhile, the People’s Democratic Party is planning to hold its primaries for Federal House of Representatives on May 12th, and barring any unforeseen circumstances, Ben Odunze appears to be the most preferred aspirant to fly the flag of the party.

IMHA 2023: More Endorsement For Ideato North Aspirant, Ngoforo – As PDP Primary Election Inches Closer

By Emma Uzoaru

Groups have continued to pledge their support to the frontline PDP aspirant for Ideato North Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, Franklin Ngoforo.

Recall that the PDP primary election for State House of Assembly has been scheduled for Saturday, May 7th, 2023.

We must therefore organize ourselves,

communicate with one another and begin to increasing address our challenges and lift our people out of poverty.

Why I want You To Accept Me To Represent Okigwe Zone -Ifeanyi Ararume Jnr

A New Dawn

Please accept the assurances and my esteemed regards.

My name is Ifeanyi Godwin Araraume jnr, a lawyer, politician and businessman. I hail from Isiebu, Isiala mbano LGA in imo state.

I believe that the time have come for us to collectively, critically interrogate the Okigwe Question, with a view of finding realistic answers and sustainable solutions to the nagging issues bed-eveling our area.

I am afraid that our zone seems to have been left behind with various challenges: Insecurity, lack of infrastructure, absence of sustainable youth/women development programme, dilapidated school and collapse healthcare delivery etc.

Today in Okigwe, its is a fact that there is no federal presence. When elected to the Senate, I will prioritize the need to site a Federal Medical Center: skill and entrepreneurial development facilities, construction of quality roads, provision of agricultural development support, through grants and interventions of CBN and related funders etc.

To address these and many other issues and set Okigwe on the path of economics recovery and development, I have put myself forward to contest for the position of the Senator, representing Imo North Senatorial District in the 2023 general elections.

My decision to contest this position followed a long period of prayers and consultations, especially among leaders and stakeholders of our party, People Democratic Party (PDP) and other shades of leadership in our Constituency.

As a leader and delegate, whom God has put in a position to choose the flagbearer for our party, I appeal to you to please vote for me. This aspiration is not about me but Ndi Okigwe.

A vote for me, is a vote for a NEW DAWN in Okigwe with Godfearing and effective representation.

By the Grace of God Almighty, together we will win this election and make this dream come true.

Thank you and God bless you

Am Barr. Ifeanyi Araraume Jnr.

Justice For Anulika Another Victim Of Abusive Marriage In Ebonyi State

Mrs. Anulika Uguru, a mother of six boys, is from Ndiechi Onuebonyi Igbeagu, married to Mr. Sunday Uguru (a.k.a Starger) of Ekeru Inyimagu community, all in Izzi LGA of Ebonyi State.

A week ago, just on the 19th of this April 2022, this woman brought a complaint to our office against her husband over incessant cases of battery and other instances of domestic violations. Regrettably, there was a delay in serving the husband an invitation notice because according to the wife, he is an inter-state transporter with no valid phone number.

Yesterday, 25th April 2022, I spoke with the woman on phone and asked her to come to my office today (26th April) by 12noon. As I waited till 12:30pm today without seeing her, I dialed her number but was picked up by a child, presumably her child. The child handed the phone to another woman who then told me that the owner of the phone I was calling is dead.

She directed us to one village clinic at Sharon junction where I saw the motionless body of Mrs Anulika. We went in company of a member of GBV Taskforce in Ebonyi State , Comrade Matthias Okinya.

The sight of the dead woman filled my heart with uncontrollable rage and resentment, I phoned the police immediately and a detachment of a Police team came but the husband was no where to be found. We launch a serious search for him with the assistance of concerned villagers and later got him apprehended. He is currently in police detention while the corpse is deposited in the morgue by the police. Starger claims Anulika drank some herbicide but does not know who gave it to her.

He must explain what happened to this beautiful young woman cut in her prime. She spoke with me yesterday; spoke with her son around 9am today and died before 1pm.

Mrs Anulika must get justice.

I Have No Godfather, God Is My God-Father – Franklin Ngoforo

At the dusk of Easter Sunday, a frontline PDP aspirant for Ideato North Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, Franklin Ngoforo, was sighted at St. Michael’s Catholic Parish, Urualla, weeping before the Blessed Sacrament.

According to an eyewitness, the aspirant, who knelt before the altar in tears, had his party’s nomination and expression of interest forms with him to the amazement of other persons who came to the holy place for prayers.

Speaking to the curious crowd who had besieged him when he walked away, a source within the church said Ngoforo lamented that the situation of things in Ideato North requires God’s urgent intervention.

“I began my life here in Urualla. I was a mass servant here, in this parish. I have a covenant with God to dedicate my entire life to alleviating the pains of our people. In my personal capacity, I have done that through my humanitarian foundation.

Some of you know I have sent tens of Ideato North indigenes abroad for studies. Many others also have gotten start-up capital for trade. But alone, I cannot solve all the problems. That is the reason I chose this path, to represent Ideato North in the House of Assembly.

“When I remember how Ideato North was two decades ago, my heart bleeds. We were known for massive industrialization. Our farms could feed our people. Commercial activities in our land were unrivaled. However, many years of bad governance have destroyed everything.

There is hardly any motorable road today in Ideato North. All the industries have collapsed. Commercial activities have now shifted to our Anambra neighbours like Ekwulobia and Umuchu, and children who were born sixteen years ago may not have seen electricity for once in Ideato North. This is shameful!

Continuing, he revealed: “I brought these issues before God today. I have no godfather. God is my father. We need a turnaround in Ideato North. We need a Godly, responsible, informed and altruistic representation.

We must break old habits in our politics if we must grow. As I begin this journey, I am guided by one principle: to end the misery and mass affliction in Ideato North, and all I ask of the Lord is to use me to make our land yield again,” he said.

One Good Turn Deserves Another, Bola Tinubu And APC Governors

As Ambode was about to be denied 2nd term as Governor, he approached his colleagues to help him beg Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The APC Governors forum met Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his Abuja residence, their Chairman Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State prostrated before Tinubu the godfather.

Their request was not granted, Akinwunmi Ambode was replaced with Babajide Sanwo-olu. The APC Governors forum were disappointed and embarrassed.

Yesterday, reluctantly Tinubu was before the APC Governors, led by the same Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State, who once went and prostrated before him on behalf of Akinwunmi Ambode.

The APC Governors refused to meet Tinubu who invited them to his Abuja residence and rather asked him to meet them at Kebbi State House, which he reluctantly obliged.

Tinubu is seeking for their help and support the way Prof. Yemi Osinbajo did the day before.

The Governors are in control of the delegates that will vote in the primary.
One good turn they say deserves another.

You see!!! No man is God.

Interesting times Ahead.

Oshola’s Demand For Equal Traveling Arrangements With Super Eagle Cost’s Her Captaincy

How Asisat Oshola’s Demand For Equal Traveling Arrangements With Super Eagles Cost Her Falcons Captaincy

Facts have continued to emerge on the stripping of reigning Africa Women’s Footballer of Year, Asisat Oshola as Super Falcons captain last week.

News broke on Friday that the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF have relieved the FC Barcelona Femini striker of her responsibilities bas the leader of the team.

The news came before the team took on Canada women in a friendly match in Saturday morning with Oshola not part of the team.

The former Arsenal player who succeeded Desire Oparanozie in acrimonious circumstances as Falcons captain on November 17, 2019 was accused of lack of commitment to the team.

An insider within the NFF told TheCable that the top brass of the federation made the decision after considering Oshoala’s recent inability to replicate her club form in the colours of Falcons where she last scored in February 2021 against Equatorial Guinea.

With FC Barcelona, the Nigerian star striker has bagged 19 goals in the last 16 games.

The source said it was adjudged that the captain band is “weighing her down,” hence her below-par performance for the national team adding that her demand for equal traveling arrangements with the Super Eagles was another reason she was removed as captain

The four-time African footballer of the year was also said to have made demands that the head honchos at the NFF found excessive.

“The past seven games that she played for Nigeria, despite the fact that she was scoring goals for Barcelona, she didn’t score a single goal for us. Not only that, her performance was awful in each of those games,” the insider told TheCable.

“This development made the powers feel like that captain band is weighing her down, because if you’re doing well for your club you can’t replicate it for your country, then there must be something wrong.

“Also, she became something else, really. Demanding this and that. Insisting there should be the same travelling arrangements for Falcons and Super Eagles. She became something else.”

The 27-year-old became the team’s captain in 2019 after Desire Oparanozie was stripped of the position over alleged dissent in the wake of the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Out recuperating from a knee injury, Oshoala was not included in the 25-member squad named by Randy Waldrum, Super Falcons head coach, for the two-legged international friendly matches against Canada.

Onome Ebi captained the team for the first leg of the encounter on Saturday night which they lost 2-0.

The second leg will be played on Tuesday at Langford’s Starlight Stadium on Vancouver Island.

Your Enemy Called Church -By Dr. Lawrence Emeh

YOUR ENEMY CALLED CHURCH.

The church will raise you,no one will hear it…
The church will train you in school,no one will blame the church…
A pastor will pick you up and give you platform for a global celebration, this generation won’t see it…
But any day you die under a condition you hide from the church, the church becomes your killer…

A church of 100,000,with thousands of happily married families,no one comes out to appreciate the church and the pastors whose teachings have kept them together…
But if one among them is affected by what was unknown to the pastor, this generation will begin to crucify him and slander the church.

“The church is not helping matters” is an allegation from hell.

“Pastors are not teaching against abusive marriage” is sponsored by hell.

Most marriages are great today because of the intervention of the church…
Most couples are having happy homes today because their pastors got involved…

Pray before marriage,you say no…
Marry a child of God,you say no…
Bring your so called hubby to be,for prayer, you say no…
Pastor advices you not to marry him, you left the church and married him…
He was showing signs of wickedness during relationship, yet you married him…

But when your challenges begin, people begin to insult the church and pastors.

The church remains a place of restoration and blessings…
Most pastors continue to be a blessing to those who believe in them.

The church can not become irrelevant because of your sentiment…
Pastors can not lose dignity because of your hatred…

Continue to serve in church and hide your secret to yourself so that church and pastors will be criticized for your ignorance.

The church is not your problem…
Pastors are not your problem…
Your problem is the secret you are keeping to maintain your ego.

Most pastors can’t keep secret,yes…
But every member knows his pastor…
There are thousands of credible pastors out there with whom your secret remains between you and them.

Don’t die in silence…

Stop the blame and obey instructions.

God bless you.
