Apostle Johnson Suleman Reacts To Mistress’ Allegations

Apostle Johnson Suleman, the President, Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide, has reacted to the allegations levelled against him by a popular blogger in relations to several Nollywood actresses.

The popular blogger had done a piece on the cleric and indicted several Nollywood actresses, some of who have been reacting to the claims.

In a video posted on his Twitter handle on Wednesday, he said, “I have been busy with this crusade in Sapele Delta state, but I heard that they are dragging me on social media, that the man is diabolic. Diabolic kee you there. You want to drag me? We will drag ourselves.

“I’m being accused of knowing some people. These are people who come to my church. Should I deny my children because of what is being written. The list is not long enough. Make it 200.

“I am the one who will disappear that blog. You attack politicians, you attack celebrities and you came for me. You have entered my trap.

“If you are brave, reveal your identity. You can’t be hiding.”

Open Letter To His Excellency,Chief Hope Uzodinma, Governor Imo State -By Sam Onwuemeodo

The Supreme Court of Nigeria , in its wisdom, had declared Chief Hope Uzodinma , the governor of lmo state. That was in January 2020. Even when, in the INEC declared results, for the 2019 governorship election in lmo, Emeka lhedioha of the PDP came first. Uche Nwosu of AA , came second. lfeanyi Araraume of APGA , came third. Then, Hope Uzodinma of APC, came fourth.

The Apex Court saw differently and declared Uzodinma first and winner of the election.

The same Supreme Court had also, in another Judgement said that, Uche Nwosu was the authentic Governorship Candidate of the APC and not Uzodinma.

ln other words, the Supreme Court gave . The Supreme Court took. The Apex Court Probated and reprobated . Bekee wu agbara.

All in all, Chief Uzodinma has remained the governor of lmo state. That’s the confirmed story, as we write. He is the Executive governor of lmo state. No skin pain.

Considering all these, one had expected the lmo Governor to be down to earth, right from the outset. Right from the beginning. From inception.

One had envisaged a situation where the governor’s approach would be reconciliatory, persuasive, appealing and convivial. All these were not to be. The reason lmo people have continued to remember how he became governor. The governor, on his own, has continued to remind lmo people how he became governor, through his actions and utterances. And that’s not fine.

Hence, if you ask me to say something on the Governorship of Uzodinma so far , l would hasten to thank the Supreme Court that declared him the governor of lmo state. And l have my reason.

lf Chief Uzodinma had not become governor, he would have continued with his aspiration to govern the state. He would have continued to ” scratch ” the people of the state with his gubernatorial aspiration.

ln 2003 , he ran for the governorship of the state on the ticket of Alliance For Democracy, AD. Chief lkedi Ohakim, the man with clean heart, was his Deputy Governorship Candidate. Chief Uzodinma lost his deposit.

ln 2007, he was also a guber aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. He came fourth in the Party’s Primary. He was always running.

All these while, he was seen as Onwa Oyoko. Onwa lmo. Nobody could vividly say much about his capacity. His ability, etal.

He became lmo governor in January 2020. And between that time and today, lmo people have known him better , with regard to his politics and his capacity.

Imo people have come to know beyond doubt that , he runs short of what it takes to govern lmo. That, position does not inject or infuse ability into its occupant.

He has now become Onwa camphope. Even in the camphope, just Onwa for a fraction of it.

Nobody calls him Onwa Oyoko or Onwa lmo again. That’s where we are today.

Unfortunately, the more one tries to avoid commenting on some of these things, the more the person is encouraged to do so, by the government and its handlers.

Just between Sunday, July 17 and Friday July 22, lmo had had the ugly tale of the massacre of the Otulu youngmen at Awomama. Had the issue of the multi million naira wrist watch . Had the issue of the N205.92billion debt. Had the issue of the sporadic shooting at Douglas road. Had the issue of sealing the property of OZB Communications. Just in six days.

l do not want to go the whole hog. The Awomama incident could not even make them to soft pedal on other actions, that could further
heighten the anxiety of lmo people and onlookers.

None of these issues has been convincingly defended or astutely explained or properly handled by the government .

All the trending proofs on the Awomama incident , have made mince meat of the Government’s defence or story. The government boxed itself into a very tight corner and in a hurry .

On the issue of wrist watch, they could not take the best or the most advisable action , which was, to maintain silence or to be silent. The wrist watch was seen on the governor’s hand. He was posing with it.

They could not know that, the governor had no reason to put on multi million naira wristwatch.

I could not have imagined Sam. Mbakwe or Evan Enwerem or Achike Udenwa or lkedi Ohakim or Rochas Okorocha or Emeka lhedioha wearing a wrist watch of that price. For what ? To prove what? .

On the N205. 92billion debt , they only tried to justify it. When their explanation could not add up, the ex-pool betting and pool forecasting agents they assembled as ” media “, handlers, began to insult everybody. That’s their style. Perm 6 from 7. Arsenal playing Barca away . You do not give what you do not have.

Then, the Douglas shooting. The governor distorted or destroyed all he met on ground at the site of Ekeukwu market, to impress whoever. Today, he has totally lost Douglas Road to street trading.

The same Egbeada market he is asking them to move to, was the same market Okorocha built and had succeeded in moving the traders to the market and other markets he built. Gov. Uzodinma came and to further get at Okorocha, destroyed whatever he met on ground.

Today, Owerri indigenes are in Court with the government, over the structures at the site of the Ekeukwu market. And nothing can be done again.

On OZB’s property. For the first time since 1979 when Mbakwe became governor and built CONCORDE HOTEL, that lmo people are hearing what the lmo government is claiming today .

The original owner of the land in question acquired it in 1979. All the Governments that had governed or administered lmo, both military and civilian, none could see what Uzodinma’s Government claims it has seen today. Something strange is going on in lmo , with all these “recoveries”. One day, the truth will unveil itself.

Governor Uzodinma should have quiet time and x-ray his government , from January 2020 to July 2022 for now and tell himself the home truth. His handlers do not know what to say again in defence of his government.

Hon. Mbadiwe Emelumba, his Commissioner for lnformation , suddenly became a stammerer on Channel Television, the other day. He could not afford to say again that one plus one is two, because the man who engaged him had done his homework before the encounter.

Under governor Uzodinma, one could hardly remember the full name of the deputy governor of lmo or easily remember the full name of any appointee.

Reason being that, there’re no activities in the state involving them, day in, day out. And the information is that , no appointee sees him.

You do not attribute the woes of the government to opposition. The worst opposition to the government in lmo today is governor Uzodinma himself and his government. Let him do a holistic analysis of his government and he would see the extent he has eaten deep into the fabric of his government. Perhaps, unknown to him.

He does not also consider the fate of those contesting the 2023 elections on the platform of APC, especially in lmo.

He had promised that the twenty two APC governors would deliver twenty two states to APC. One week after that claim, APC lost Osun State. His 22 States’ theory, has already been punctured when it is still morning. 5am or 6am.

lf he is interested in seeing APC candidates especially in lmo and South East win elections , he would have changed his style. He seems not to care .And the candidates should have known by now.

Seeing the body language of the leadership of INEC , one would know that , Prof. Yakubu Mahmoud is desirous of leaving a legacy. Carving out an imperishable niche for himself by conducting free and fair elections in 2023. lt’s written all over the guy’s body.

I have also begun to look at all that have been happening in lmo under Gov. Uzodinma, from the spiritual dimension.

You do not destroy or discard anything built or done in honour of GOD, for any reason. You don’t tamper or destroy any structure erected or put up for God . Put up to honour God. He is a jealous God.

The altar Abraham built at Bethel, is still there today ( Genesis 12: 8). Even the one Jacob built after an encounter with GOD, is still there . The new name he gave to the place , PENIEL remains , which means, ” For l have seen God face to face and my life is preserved “.

There , his name was changed from Jacob to lsreal. ( Genesis 32: 30).

What’s the memory verse here ?. Be careful with anything built for GOD or dedicated to God, even if your worst enemy had/has built or erected such structure or statute for GOD .

Okorocha built the Government House Roundabout. On top of the Roundabout , was a priest holding and lifting up a very Big Holy Bible. Governor Uzodinma came and destroyed the Roundabout with the statue of a priest holding the Holy Bible. lf l were to be Governor and seeing that, l would have left the Roundabout. l fear God because l know what he is capable of doing.

Okorocha introduced the mid-day prayers in all the state Government offices, including the Government House. lmo people subscribed heavily into that prayer session at 12, from Monday to Friday.

lnside the Government House , once it was 12, every government activity was halted for God to be worshipped. The reason CHAPELS were also built at the local government headquarters. Governor Uzodinma came and stopped all that.

Mega Church activities do not hold at the lmo lnternational Conference Centre, IICC, again , since Governor Uzodinma came on board. The IICC, mysteriously collapsed under Gov. Uzodinma.

l am not saying that all these were the reasons for the ugly incidents that have been the lots of the State under the current government in lmo.

The point remains that, if l were governor Uzodinma, l would have sustained all that were done or built in honour of GOD, especially when you know the imports of sacrifice of Praise or Worship or Prayers to God .

Whatever structure erected in honour of GOD, has become an altar of GOD and you don’t tamper with it or destroy it, for any reason.

l am only trying to open a new line of thought on the lmo situation.
If you doubt me , go and read what happened when the enemy took away the ARK of GOD. To them, it was an ordinary wood. But that’s not true. It had God’s power , having been called ARK of GOD.

All the kings who destroyed the temples or altars of God, got it rough. But those who built for GOD, like Josiah, Hezekiah, etal had God on their sides and had peaceful reigns.

Under your governorship, armed security personnel invaded the Church of Jesus Christ at Eziama Obaire , on a Sunday, when the Service was on, shot sporadically and disrupted worship and praises to GOD ALMIGHTY. That’s unimaginable. An absurdity. Sacrilege . That requires atonement.

The cries or lamentations or alarm that day by worshippers , must have gotten to GOD and we are here talking about the opposition. People must know that we didn’t create ourselves. Someone is incharge. Someone who has the whole wide world in his Palm or hand. Do you understand?

An incident nobody had imagined or seen in lmo, since its creation in 1976. l do not understand.

Who knows whether GOD is the opposition or among the opposition the government has been talking about. l am strongly having the feeling. Nobody takes God or things of God for granted , without paying dearly for it . l know what l am talking about. You do not take God for granted for any reason. Do you get the point now ?

Again, Governor Uzodinma should stop counting his ” able bodied men “. His “strength” seems to have failed him. Let him try his “weakness” and see whether that would help or not.

Owu-uka, burukwa or wurukwa ilulu. Ask your neighbour.

Some elements who provoked or attracted attacks against lhedioha, through their avoidable and indiscriminate attacks on people, are with Uzodinma today , with the same approach or style. And with that , attracting attacks or uncomplimentary comments also against him and his government.

MENE , MENE, TEKEL, URPHARSIN. The handwriting on the wall .

Let him that has ears , hear what the spirit of God is telling the Church of Jesus Christ.

While we continue to clap for Jesus.

Indefinite Closure Of Oziza FM: You Are Pushing Imolites To The Wall, Onyeagucha Lampoons Uzodimma.

Indefinite Closure of Oziza FM: You are pushing Imolites to the wall, Onyeagucha lampoons Uzodimma.

…..Says, Imo is degenerating into a state of anarchy under Uzodimma.

In a press statement obtained by gisthub24.com via his special assistant in media Prince Macdonald Enwere and dated 24th July, 2022. The PDP Candidate for Imo East Senatorial District, Hon Barr. Uche Onyeagucha has observed with consternation the recent closure of the Catholic-owned Radio Station in the State, Oziza 96.1 FM, by the National Broadcasting Corporation.

Hon Onyeagucha notes that, this latest action by the oppressive regime of Senator Hope Uzodimma, after the gruesome slaughtering of fourteen innocent Imo youths at Otulu is provocative and disheartening.
Regrettably, rather than appealing to God for self-cleansing, Senator Uzodimma further prevailed on the NBC to shutdown Oziza FM for uncovering the nefarious activities of his administration and exposing to the public, his slaughtering spree in Imo state particularly in Orlu zone using his Ebubeagu militia.

The instigated closure of the Radio Station is nothing but a calculated ploy by Governor Uzodimma to gag the press and other democratic voices in the State.

We condemn in strongest terms the draconian, strong-arm and headmasterist/bravado tactics of Senator Hope Uzodimma to blatantly stifle free speech and independence of the press in the State.

We call on Imolites, the Catholic Community and people of good conscience to rise in solidarity against the further degeneration of Imo State into a state of lawlessness where democratic voices are gagged by the state Government.

How Ebubeagu Killed My Seven Brothers In My Presence – Survivor

Chidiebube Okeoma, Owerri

On Sunday, 14 youths who were returning from a traditional wedding at Awo Omamma in the Orun East Local Government Area of Imo State were allegedly shot dead by the state-owned security operatives, Ebubeagu. In an interview with our correspondent, CHIDIEBUBE OKEOMA, a survivor, Nnamdi Nnanna, explains how his seven brothers were killed by the security operatives

A survivor of the Sunday killing at Awo Omamma in the Oru East Local Government Area of Imo State, Nnamdi Nnanna, has explained how operatives of the state-owned Ebubeagu security outfit allegedly shot seven of his brothers dead in his presence.

The PUNCH had on Wednesday reported that the family of two siblings killed alongside 12 others on Sunday while returning from a traditional wedding at Awo Omamma in Oru East Local Government Area of Imo State, had called on the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba; and the state governor, Hope Uzodimma, to ensure justice.

Narrating how his seven brothers were killed, the emotionally laden borehole driller, Nnanna whose immediate younger brother, Chijioke Nnanna, was the one who wedded traditionally on that day, told The PUNCH that but for the grace of God, he would have been a dead man.

He said that he pleaded with the Ebubeagu security outfit to spare his wife.

The father of two said that while the suspects shot dead his six brothers who were on three motorcycles ahead of him, he told his other brother who was driving him and another person to make a U-Turn.

He said that the Ebubeagu security operatives came after them and eventually met them, shot the driver dead and shot the other on his left arm.

Nnanna said, “As we finished the traditional wedding ceremony, we set out to go in four motorcycles. Three motorcycles were ahead of us while we drove behind. Before you could know it, the Ebubeagu people opened fire and killed the ones ahead of us. As I noticed that, I told the driver of our motorcycle to make a turnaround and the Ebubeagu people came after us.

“As we sped, we got to a road bump and fell down. They caught up with us and immediately shot dead the driver and shot the other person on his arm. I immediately started shouting, telling them that we were not criminals nor ESN people.

“As they approached, I identified their leader and asked him not to kill me. One of them had already cocked his gun to shoot me but he ordered him to stop. I was bundled into their operational vehicle, tied and blindfolded.

“They took me to their camp at Omuma and locked me. I kept telling them that I was not a criminal, that my immediate younger brother did his traditional wedding and we were returning home from Awomama. They then brought me out and asked me to take them to the venue of the traditional marriage.

“We went there and they equally took me to the compound of our traditional ruler and later brought me back to their camp where I spent the night.

“It was in the morning that they brought us out and asked us to start smiling that we were going home. They gave me back my phone but refused to give me back my charger and Bluetooth device which they collected.

“I want to call on every lover of justice to come to my rescue and that of my family. We have committed no crime. No provocation. My brothers were killed for nothing.

While the Imo State Police Command had said that the incident was under investigation, the state government said that those who were killed were bandits and terrorists.

The killings attracted reaction from the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra which called for the disbandment of Ebubeagu in Imo State.

MASSOB made its position known in a statement issued by its leader, Uchenna Madu.

The statement read in part, “They are primarily established as a witch-hunting outfit to fight political enemies and pro-Biafra agitators who are non-violent.

“MASSOB described ESO as evil and an agent of death established by the Imo State Government.

“MASSOB warns Governor Uzodimma to immediately disband his ESO now or we shall see their activities in Biafra land as a declaration of internal war. The so-called ESO must cease their operation in Imo State now.”

However, the Governor of Imo State, Uzodimma, on Tuesday dissociated Ebubeagu from the operation that led to the killings which he blamed on the Department of State Services.

The governor said the operation, according to the information available to him, was targeted at bandits and not wedding guests as alleged.

A statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Oguwike Nwachuku, read in part, “Governor Uzodimma said the state government would not be deterred by propaganda and blackmail in her quest to protect the lives and property of Imo citizens.

“He spoke on Monday after the Imo State Security Council meeting with regard to the alleged incident that took place at Awo Omamma on Monday that led to the death of some bandits.

“Governor Uzodimma said the government had been briefed on the incident by the Director of State Services in an interim report made available to members of the Security Council.

“The Governor added that the DSS Director confirmed that his men carried out an operation in a camp at Awo Omamma with the assistance of their informant and not at a wedding place as claimed by the youths and that it was in the process that some bandits were neutralised.

“He said while the Security Council awaits a detailed report on the incident, it is important that the public must be wary of those using the incident as a propaganda tool to blackmail the security agencies and the government.”

The Ebubeagu security outfit was established on April 11, 2021, following the burning of police stations, violent attacks on custodial centres with the unlawful release of inmates, and the killings of security personnel, natives, farmers and herdsmen in the South-East region.

This was after a meeting attended by the governors of Anambra, Abia, Ebonyi, Imo and Enugu states. Also present at the meeting were Navy and Air Force Commanders, the Inspector-General of Police, Ohanaeze Ndigbo and other stakeholders.

Governor Oyetola Set To Engage 50 Lawyers To Challenge Adeleke’s Victory In Osun Guber Polls.

The Governor of Osun state, Gboyega Oyetola may hire no less than 50 lawyers, including senior advocates, to challenge the victory of Ademola Adeleke, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, in last Saturday’s governorship election in the state.

This hint of action was given on Tuesday, by a member of the governor’s legal team, Kunle Adegoke.

In an interview with Punch, Adegoke revealed that the results declared by INEC was undergoing review.

He said, “We are still reviewing documents and the legal team is actually working. In an election of this nature, the documents will be so many; so it is important to look at them critically before we make a decision and that is exactly what we are working on right now.

“Dr Biodun Layonu (SAN), is the leader of the team. The legal team is not complete yet because there are so many others that will still come in.

“In the meantime, the two members of the legal team we can reveal are Dr Biodum Layonu and Kunle Adegoke. Others that may come in are people we may not know but as soon as we are ready to move, we will notify the press.

“The membership can’t be determined as many lawyers are interested in joining the team. You know election petition is a special case. So, we allow as many lawyers that are interested to come in. We may run into 50 or more members.”

However, PDP and the governor-elect, Adeleke warned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) against allowing the All Progressives Congress to tamper with election materials.

Emeka Ihedioha And Hope Uzodinma’s Media “Millitia”.

I am only using Emeka lhedioha to climb. Using him as a case study, to arrive safely. As a spring board.

He had spoken in foreign land. He said that, Uzodinma and his CampHope government had borrowed N205. 92billion in less than three years. He added a proviso . That, the Imo Governor has mortgaged the future of the State and her people, with the high debt profile.

Uzodinma’s media ” militia ” , descended on him.

They accused him of lying. They accused him of blackmail. And all that.

ln all they wrote about lhedioha, they never made effort to know the truth or otherwise of what lhedioha said or claimed . They only concluded, on their own, that, lhedioha lied. The way of the ” militia”.

Ihedioha didn’t invent or create the figure he quoted. His own ” property” or portion was the claim that the Imo Governor has mortgaged the State. And he was right.

The National Bureau of Statistics, NBS, had in a statement, claimed that, eight ( 8) oil producing states, excluding Lagos State , had shared N144. 31 billion, thirteen (13) percent derivation , for the first quarter of 2022, with Imo State getting N3. 42billion, as her own share, for the period.

ln analysing the billions involved in the 13 % derivation fund , and what each of the concerned states got, Head of Research, SBM, of Debt Management Office , DMO, Mr. lkemesit Effiong said , inspite of this derivation fund, these benefiting states battle with high debts.

He mentioned Imo State as second , on the debt table with N205. 92billion , after Rivers. lt was not Ihedioha’s figure or imagination.

Uzodinma’s media ” militia ” only ended up making noise and insulting Ihedioha. They could not scratch the issues thereto, because they hadn’t the facts and were not keen in getting the facts.

So, if the figure was not true, they should have taken it up with the Debt Management Office, DMO, and not Ihedioha.

2. THE AWOMAMA KILLING:

The same Gov. Uzodinma’s media ” militia ” had also taken the statistics of those who had reacted to the killing and those who had not reacted.

They had also dropped their ” protest letter ” on the doors of Ihedioha and Gerald Irona.

The governor of Imo state had, right from the outset, politicised the Security situation in lmo. So much so, that, most leaders in the state have decided to keep mute over the security challenges in the state. And nobody should blame any of such leaders.

The speed with which the governor and his media ” militia ” jumb into security issues, most times, constitutes barrier to views or opinions or actions that could help.

For instance, the Awomama killing.

The governor said that, he had discussed with the Director of State Services and he confirmed to him that his men carried out the operation at a camp.

Like the Police, the DSS has an official spokesman. If the DSS had carried out an operation, it didn’t require the governor speaking for them the way and manner he did .

The governor would have spoken like the Chief Security Officer of the State, by saying that, his government had been briefed on what happened and the relevant outfits would address the media on what happened. And appealed for calm, especially on the side of the Otulu Community. Then, the DSS would speak for itself.

And there would have been an instruction to the ” media militia”, not to comment on the incident, except circulating what had come out from either the Police, DSS, CPS, SGI, or information Commissioner.

None of these steps was taken. The ” militia ” went on rampage. Very riotous.

As we speak, the DSS has not said anything. The Police Command has not said anything, to the best of my knowledge. All indicating indignation, perhaps, because of the way and manner the governor handled the situation.

lf the Police and the DSS the governor mentioned, could keep quiet uptill now, any other person could also keep mute on the incident.

People have begun to ask questions, following what the governor said.

When has it become the tradition or practice of the DSS, to abandon or allow the corpses of those killed by its agents in an operation, at the site of the operation, to the extent that , the people from the community of the victims would come with “will- barrows ” to evacuate their lifeless bodies?.

If the operation was carried out at a camp like the governor had claimed, what of the usual things expected to be recovered from the camp?. Where’re those things?

One prominent journalist had also raised the issue of how well dressed , the late young men were. That they never dressed like folks in camp or camps. Adding fibre to the claim by the Community that , the guys were coming back from a wedding.

The crux of the matter is that , 90 % percent of governor Uzodinma’s problem on issues like that of Awomama, is always caused by him and his media ” militia “. They always raise the pole or antenna of people’s anger with most of their reactions or responses to such issues.

ln the press release on Governor Uzodinma’s comments, on the Awomama killing, not even an appeal for calm. Not even regretting the incident , no matter what the government had believed that caused it, knowing that human lives were involved.

Once again, let me appeal to the lmo Governor to stop exercising muscles. Political muscles. Let him stop looking at every situation or incident as occasion for war. He should stop talking like a garrison commander, on every issue.

He should know when to blow hot and when to blow cold. He can’t be blowing hot at any given time.

The reason all his appointees and media handlers, have also seen the whole situations as war situations.

From all indications, the governor is gradually becoming war fatigue. And it’s expected. He seems to be exhausting his armour. And the ” supply routes” could also become dry.

The reason the governor should change style and urgently too. Time is no more on his side. He has to begin to stoop low to overcome. Diplomacy wins more political “wars” than ” bullets”. He can’t win, if he continues this way.

l repeat this story for the sake of emphasis.

The enemy army came and conquered Mali Empire. Invaded the King’s palace , killed the king , his guards and children, leaving behind Sundiata, one of the children who was crippled, because they felt, he could neither bark nor bite.

Few years after, the same crippled Sundiata raised a very formidable army. Went for revenge. Destroyed both material and human, at the enemy’s side. Took over the land.

ln other words, it’s not over, until it is over and seen to be over.

The unexpected can always happen. The reason for Insurrance policies . ln case of ” incasity”. Bekee wu agbara.

” lt is not by power. Nor by might. But only, by the SPIRIT of GOD, saith the LORD of host . Who art thou, O great mountain? . Before Zerubbabel, thou shall become a plain…” ( Zechariah 4: 6- 7).

The rest is history.

Shettima Exposes Tinubu’s Plans To Eliminate Ndigbo From Nigeria

ONWUASOANYA FCC JONES

Recently, the Vice-presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Kashim Shettima, while appearing on Channels Tv, reiterated his personal disdain against the Igbo population in Nigeria and most likely, the devious agenda of his Party against Ndigbo, when he made attempts to present Igbo land as a separate entity from Nigeria.

Shettima while answering questions from the program’s anchor about the potent threat posed by Peter Obi’s candidacy, dismissed the frontline and unarguably, the most qualified presidential candidate, on the basis that ; “Peter can only be President in Igbo land”.

Shettima, a former governor of Borno State supervised the explosion of violence, terrorism and the most mindless abduction of innocent school girls in his State. The social, security and economic wellbeing of Borno citizens were took a turn for the worst during his eight years as governor, and there have been unconfirmed allegations that, instead of supporting the federal government’s onslaught against terrorists in the Northeast, he was highly sympathetic to the Boko Haram sect and allegedly associated closely with them, to the extent that one of the most dreaded Boko Haram terrorists was captured in his official lodge in Abuja when he was still serving as governor.

Shettima’s statement against Peter Obi couldn’t have been a slip of any sorts, but a clear statement of intent on the plans of his Party against Ndigbo, should they by any electoral magic win the presidency. Already, the Party has in the last seven years of holding sway at the center, intently relegated Ndigbo from power. They supervised the deliberate dislocation of all Igbos from any position of influence and authority in the present federal government. As if that wasn’t enough, under the watch of the APC administration, the Southeast has seen it’s worst spate of violence since after the civil war. Many people suspect that these violence are aimed at undermining and sabotaging the economic potentials of the Southeast, as a prelude, to completely excising the region from the Nigerian federation.

Shettima is not in any delusion that his type or his principal’s type can stand shoulder to shoulder with Peter Obi, on the issue of competence, integrity or strength of character. Both Obi and Tinubu had been governors of their various States, and the records are there on their performances and legacies of their administrations.

While Obi followed a well researched blueprint to restructure and reform all aspects of Anambra economy, Mr. Tinubu, who ruled over what is supposed to be Africa’s most prosperous cities, ruined that State and rather than liberate the State invested in colonizing the State to his own gain and pride. Today, Lagos State, under his firm grip and control is rated as the second worst city in the world to reside in. Both the infrastructure and economy of that citystate is in ruins.

Nigerians, whether Igbo and non Igbo, Christians and Muslims, as well as Hausas and Fulanis shouldn’t feel unconcerned about this clear threat on the corporate existence of our country. Every irredentist is a threat to national unity and they are always out to dominate and expunge those who are not of their stock. That is whom Shettima has shown himself and his Party’s agenda to be. It will be in the best interest of Nigeria to resist such a character and whatever he represents or any group he is propelled by.

They Tried To Kill Me Over Baba Ijesha

Comedienne, Princess, has revealed that some persons tried to kill her for speaking up about the sexual assault of her underage foster daughter by actor, Olanrewaju James aka Baba Ijesha.

She made this revelation in an interview with Chude Jideonwo on his #WithChude show. The interview was published on Thursday.

Baba Ijesha had been sentenced to jail on Thursday over the sexual assault of a minor.

Responding to a question on whether she regretted speaking up about the assault, Princess said, “Now I don’t but the first two to three weeks, I did. I had a bounty put on my head, they tried to kill me. I found out that some persons I respected were they ones pushing him.”

On how the case ended up in court, she said, “You are seeing me everyday trying to apologise and then after a month, he’s just like … That’s the attitude that got us to where we are in Nigeria today. We went from being good to bad to sinister. It became an attitude of ‘Shebi, I have begged her?’

“…This truth must be told and you now see people you have idolised for years, that you respected, now open their mouth to justify it. It’s sickening.”

Why Majority Of Members Of Nigeria Council Of State Support Peter Obi

ONWUASOANYA FCC JONES

According to the publisher of Sahara Reporters and presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore; former Nigerian Heads of States, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, Olusegun Obasanjo and Abdulsalami Abubakar are not only positively disposed to the Peter Obi/Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed candidacy, but are also actively canvasing support for the Labour Party presidential standard bearers.

Omoyele knows the significance of this alleged understanding among Nigeria’s former military leaders, but as one who sees himself as equal competitor with Peter Obi, he is bent on attempts to discredit this highly sought-after endorsement.

He is trying to sway Nigerians by reminding them that these past leaders made efforts to derail our democracy, hence, Nigerians should view their support for Obi with suspicion. The truth is that Sowore or any other presidential candidate will pay anything and forfeit anything just to have any of these men speak positively about their aspiration.

The College of Past Presidents or Heads of State is one of the most revered groups anywhere in the world, including, the most developed and liberal democracies.

Any politician craves the endorsement of past leaders of his country the same way any show promoter would crave the endorsement of major rock stars for their shows. Beyond the effect of their endorsements, there is also an unquantifiable technical or strategic advantage, the endorsement of such caliber of people confer on the presidential candidate who is fortunate to secure it.

If you paid keen attention to Biden’s inauguration speech as President, he took special care to announce to Americans the support he has received from all living former American Presidents, including sharing with the world the effort he made to visit the ailing, Jimmy Carter.

The significance and power of these past Presidents is not affected by our opinions or reservations about them. While it is unavoidable that an individual who has attained such heights of power and influence must make mistakes, we cannot deny the value of their services and patriotism to our country.

Generals Olusegun Obasanjo, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar are eminent patriots who have given the most part of their lives to the service of the country. They are also more equipped with information about Nigeria’s peculiar challenges and the secrets to the management and preservation of our nationhood, than probably any other group of living Nigerians.

As responsible elder statesmen, they might have also determined that while they might have made some mistakes during their time in power, that at this twilight of their earthly existence, that they owe it to posterity to bequeath to Nigeria, a unifying, progressive and selfless leader, represented in the persons of Mr. Peter Obi and Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed.

Nigerians of good conscience have nothing but gratitude for these patriotic elder statesmen who have come forward at this critical time in our national history to promote the right idea for the stabilization and progress of our nation.

Love Revolution By Okwuchukwu Ndubisi Kenneth

The essence of politics is to render qualitative services to the people irrespective of their tribes, religion, status or geographical location. Service to God and neighbour is the summary of the Christian faith. Our lives will be meaningless without it!The duty of an average politician is to identify the basic needs of the people and deploy the scarce resources of the state to solve them. Wastages in whatever form is not allowed.

Hence, an astute politician should be prudent in utilising the resources of the people in solving the challenges that the people are facing on a daily basis. The environmental challenge in Asaba and other towns in the state are getting out of hand.

Whenever it rains, it seems as if the world wants to come to an end. Rain is a gift from God. However, when there are not enough adequate drainage systems to dispose the water to the right location; the rain will become a burden and a problem to the inhabitants of the town.

Even the drainage systems that are in place in the town are not adequately maintained. To make matter worse, some streets that ought to be free are sold by some persons for their selfish reason; thus, causing serious flooding problem in the area.

These problems seems insurmountable but with a dynamic government at the local and state level can be solved; if the resources of the state are put to good use. Please my comrades, Labour party is the party for the present and the future because it leaders are set to revolutionize service delivery in the state.

The present government in power in the state is not doing enough to solve the problem. Their cosmetic approach in solving the environmental challenges in Asaba and other towns in the state is not helping the people. Their approach is not cost effective and efficient.

The state government should empower the local governments in the state to do their jobs very well. What we need presently is a holistic and sincere approach that will identify the environmental challenges in the state and the determination to deploy the resources to solve them.

Indiscriminate dumping of refuse should be discouraged in the town. Laws should be enacted by the state and local government to stop this menace because these dirt are usually dump in our drainage system thereby preventing water from passing through to the right location.

The people should be enlightened on the menace of indiscriminate dumping of refuse in our drainage system. More enlightenment campaign should be embarked upon by the government and other social media institutions on the importance of maintaining a clean environment in the State.

The state and local government should employ people that will help to clean our drainage system on a daily basis and these workers should be adequately enumerated. I am not happy that we do not have a good reward system in Nigeria.

It is sad to note that some people look down on workers who clean our streets, gutters and drainage systems because they believe that such jobs are meant for school dropouts and miscreants in the society. Ironically, some Nigerians travel to London and the United State of America and earn good living by doing such environmental jobs there.

These persons can take good care of their families and even send some money to their close relatives in Nigeria for their upkeep. This narrative should be changed by Labour party in the state. The party should support and enhance the dignity of labour! Workers employed to sweep our streets, clean our gutters and maintain our drainage systems should be paid good salary that will enable them take good care of their family and live a good life.

They should be given minimum wage and should enjoy good welfare packages. The gap between the rich and the poor in the state is alarming. Hence, economic policies should be initiated to reduce such gap.

The state and local government should also build more drainage systems that will totally eradicate the menace of flooding in Asaba and the state. More machinery needed to clean our drainage system on a daily basis should be purchased at a reasonable cost by the government to ensure the adequate maintenance of our drainage system in the state. Illegal structures on our streets should be removed to prevent flooding in the town.

Laws should be enacted to criminalize the sale of legitimate streets and canals in the State to discourage land grabbers from selling them to dubious people. Land grabbers caught selling streets or canals in the state should be made to pay huge penalty tax up to five million naira or more depending on the nature of the crime.

This lawlessness most stop or the menace of flooding will not be eradicated in the state. People caught dumping refuse indiscriminately in our environment should be made to pay a huge penalty tax to discourage others from doing likewise.

The state and local government should also build more drainage system that will totally eradicate the menace of flooding in Asaba. They can create a tax system that will enable them to raise the needed revenue to build and maintain more drainage systems in the state.

Penalty tax should be imposed on people caught in the act of dumping refuses indiscriminately in our environment. Efficient Drainage System Annual Tax (EDSAT) of five thousand naira per compound should be imposed on all residents in the town by the local government and kept in a pool of fund. This special EDSAT fund should be used to develop and maintain a standard drainage system in Asaba to protect it from the menace of flooding.

Other local governments in the state should do likewise, so that they will be able to generate enough funds needed to solve the environmental challenges in their locality. Such tax law should be enacted by the Delta State House of Assembly to support the local governments in the state in the discharge of their statutorily duties to the people of the state.

Please my comrades, it is advisable that we should join the different cells created by Take Back Nigeria Group in the State because it will help Labour party in Nigeria reach out to the people at the grass root. Labour party will utilise the cells created at the different locations in Delta State to ascertain the pressing needs of the people. Knowledge is power! With this knowledge, a sincere and prudent government will be better positioned to solve them.

The party will utilise the scare resources of the state in an effective and efficient manner to ensure that the needs of the people are adequately met. Labour party will ensure that the local governments in the state are adequately funded and empowered to meet the pressing needs of the people since it is the government that is closest to the people. Once we gain power in the state, we will identify and empower the various institutions that will help us solve these environmental challenges. We are tired of inconsistency in governance and we need a constructive and holistic approach to remedy the ugly situation.

My comrades, the environmental challenges in the state are alarming and dangerous because some persons have lost their properties and lives because of it. We need to come together to remedy the ugly situation before things get out of hand. Please, the benefits of a good drainage system in the state cannot be overemphasized because it will enhance the health, business, social and living conditions of the people. Hence, we need to support all the labour party aspirants in Delta State that yearn to cause a genuine change in the state.

My sincere appreciation goes to Mr. Ngozi Okolie, Mr. Clement Chukwudi Odukwe and all other aspirants of Labour party in the state for their dogged support of the change mantra of Peter Obi. May God grant us the grace to contribute our quota to the growth and development of the state in Jesus Christ name! Amen!

My Encounter With Peter Obi In My Street In Port Harcourt

Let me tell you about my personal encounter with Peter Obi about two decades ago. I was living in Port Harcourt along Ada George Rd, off Kala in Obio Akpo LGA. Obi had a warehouse on Kala rd. He was a major importer of canned products like Heinz salad cream, Baked Beans Ketchups, sweet corn, corned beef etc.

His trucks bringing goods to his warehouse constituted real nuisance to traffic. It got to a point during the rainy season where we could no longer access our homes and had to resort to parking in El Shaddai Nursery/ Primary School before trekking home. So the Chairman of Kala Residents community, Chief Ogolo convened a meeting to chart the way forward.

We were all asked to pay some money towards fixing the road and I was appointed as the treasurer. Just when we were rounding up,Peter Obi sauntered in and I was quick to attack him for being the major contributor to the problem which burden was now on our collective neck.

I honestly expected him to arrogantly shout me down and intimidate everyone. But what he did, disarmed most of us who were spoiling for a fight against this rich man.

First of all,he stood up and apologized for coming late to the meeting, due to traffic at Aba,on his way from Onitsha. He averred that until that moment, he was not aware of the trauma his business activities were causing the residents and pledged to singlehandedly find a solution to our problem.

This meeting held on a Saturday and by Monday morning, heavy duty equipment were lined up, preparatory to the work and by Wednesday, remedial and rehabilitation work had commenced and by the following Monday, we were driving smoothly to our houses.

Peter Obi had singlehandedly constructed drainages and resurfaced the Kala Road. That showed me how noble the man was, long before he dabbled into politics.

Just In:Catholic Church Demolished In Anambra

A Catholic church,Our Lady Queen of Peace has been demolished by Anambra state government task force , ANAMBRA PEOPLE reports.

The Catholic church which is located by Lagos park, along Onitsha- Asaba expressway was among the churches given notice in April this year to relocate.

Anambra state government has recently embarked on massive demolition of structures built on drainage and flood to channels in the bid to checkmate the menace of flood in Onitsha.

Governor Soludo seems very resolved in this decision to restore Onitsha to its former glory.

It is believed that the governor who even as a Catholic and knowing the enormous power the church wields in Anambra yet he has not spared two Catholic churches in the ongoing massive demolition in the state confirms he mean business.

Other buildings including illegal structures in the market are expected to receive government sledge hammer in the coming weeks

Open Letter To Governor Hope Uzodinma “You’re Either Obedient Or You’re Disobedient

By Onwuasonya FCC Jones

Dear Governor Hope Uzodinma

Your Excellency, no matter what your aides and desperate sycophants around you, tell you, the truth is that there is a revolutionary wind blowing across Nigeria at the moment and there is nothing, no power, no strategy and no conspiracy can stop it.

Given your influential position in the ruling APC, it is understandable that you will try everything to stick with your Party or, at least, be seen as sticking with your Party, but the truth of the matter, is that this is not the time to be a loyal Party member, but to be a loyal Nigerian.

Some of you are sitting so high and so comfortably on your high horses that you don’t seem ready to come down a little and see what is really playing out under your very face. The people are getting ready to take back their country, and anyone who stands on their way will be crushed. This is a revolution, not an election. You have to get in or be thrown out.

So, when you are talking about not being Obedient, you are simply setting yourself against the people, and I want to assure you that it won’t be funny at the end. You know, I have recently learnt to love you, but on this issue, you are completely on your own and the day, we will take stock of the DISOBEDIENT, I shall count you in, if you do not quickly reverse yourself or at least, find a way to keep quiet and focus on some of the very wonderful jobs you are doing in Imo State.

You have no option but to be Obedient or what happens to Disobedient people will happen to you. You have to be Obedient to the wishes of the people or you will be treated like a traitor by the people.

I can assure you that Imo people, like all patriotic people across Nigeria, shall vote for candidates across Party lines. They shall vote for individual candidates on the merit of their records of service and integrity. We will not be carried away by the many opportunists jumping into the train, just because it is convenient. We will vote for the right candidates across Party lines, and throw all our votes to Mr. Peter Obi for President.

My dear Governor, listen to your people, obey them and it shall be well with you.

Cab Driver Crushed To Death By Reckless Truck Driver At A Traffic Stop In Lekki; Truck Driver Flees

A driver with one of the ride-hailing apps was crushed to death by a truck at a traffic stop in Lekki, Lagos state, on Thursday morning, July 7.

According to a Twitter user who shared the news on the platform, the driver was waiting for the red light to turn when an impatient truck driver rammed into his car.

Photos shared online show the wrecked car with the dead driver inside. The cement-laden truck that its driver abandoned before scurrying away is also seen on one side of the road.

Hey @Boltapp_ng @Uber this driver was on a trip this morning at 5:30am, a truck hit him while he was a waiting for traffic light at Igbo Efon Lekki, we’ve tried getting his next of kin through the plate number but it’s abortive, maybe you can use his info with you to help. The guy just Dey chill make traffic light change o, aboki driver crush am in between another trailer, na only God dey protect person for this country nau”, the tweep wrote.

Meanwhile, Erik Gleibermann, an international journalist and cultural and literary critic, has averred that drivers in Lagos see red lights as annoying suggestions.

The social justice, who appears to be currently in Nigeria, stated this via his Twitter handle Thursday, July 7, while sharing his experience in the country’s commercial city.

He suggested that the majority of Lagos drivers violate traffic rules by running red lights.

“I am enjoying Lagos, though this feeling is tempered by the fact that drivers here regard red lights as annoying suggestions. #Lagos #Nigeria”, he wrote on Twitter.

Why OBIDATTI Is A Battle Between The Corrupt Bourgous And The Masses

By ONWUASOANYA FCC JONES

Except for a few of them who genuinely love Nigeria and are desirous of rescuing her from an imminent collapse, many wealthy and politically influential Nigerians are either supporting Bola Ahmed Tinubu or Atiku Abubakar.

This is not because of any ideological affinity or even understanding of whatever these individuals might have in stock for Nigeria, but either because of what they personally stand to gain from any of these individuals when they emerge as President or out of fear of what a disruption of the perverse status quo.

Most of these so-called political leaders have active case files with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission or the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission or are already under trial in court and are desperately clinging on either Atiku or Tinubu, because they understand that both individuals are “system men” and that as long as they invest enough in their campaigns, will ensure that these cases are frustrated or kept in the cooler for as long as possible.

The Subsidy thieves, contractors whose stock in trade is pad in projects into the national budget every year and collect the billions of Naira without doing any work, military contractors reap from the pains and blood of ordinary Nigerians and all shades of traitors who are major beneficiaries of Nigeria’s agonies are all fluttering around the two individuals whom they believe have the clearest chance of emerging President, in order to secure their business and political interests.

Another set of people that will throw all their bets on either Atiku or Tinubu are those people who don’t have any known job anywhere in the world, yet, live a five-star lifestyle. They live like comfortable multi-billionaires because of the patronage they get from the usual politicians. They are those who run errands for the “fraudstars” and “lunatics” in government, and for that they are ready to put everything on the line to sustain the status quo. They are not ready for any disruption, they are not ready for thinkers and patriots like Obi and Datti to take over government and turn things around. They understand that such situation will mean that their channels of getting free money will be closed down.

But, for the ordinary Nigerian masses, the success of these class of individuals’ agenda is a deepening of their agonies, and it’s failure enhances their chances of freedom from the stranglehold of bad governance, insecurity, poverty, dilapidated infrastructure, joblessness and all the anomalies that have bedevilled Nigeria. Therefore, it becomes a direct battle between the ordinary Nigerian and those parasitic elites who have sat on the wealth and future of this country for so long, that they cannot imagine any life without continuously pilfering from our commonwealth.

I should have confidence that the long-suffering Nigerian masses have had enough and it is time for them to say, ENOUGH is ENOUGH! Peter Obi and Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed have presented to Nigerians, an option in presidential governance that we have never had before, we will only have ourselves to blame if we fail to seize the opportunity to free ourselves from the slavery of selfish and incompetent political leadership.

MAY NIGERIA PREVAIL!

Shinzo Abe Japan Former Prime Minister Assassinated While Giving Speech

Shinzo Abe: Japan ex-leader assassinated while giving speech.

Japan’s former prime minister Shinzo Abe has died in hospital after he was shot at a political campaign event.

Abe was shot at twice while he was giving a speech on a street in the city of Nara on Friday morning.

Security officials at the scene tackled the gunman and a 41-year-old suspect is now in police custody.

The suspect, named as Tetsuya Yamagami, admitted shooting Abe with a homemade gun, and said he had a grudge against a “specific organisation”, police said.

Several other handmade weapons, similar to those used in the attack, had been confiscated after a search of the suspect’s house, police officers told a news conference.

Explosives were also found at the home and police said they had advised residents to evacuate the area.

The suspected shooter told officers he had a grudge against a specific group he believed Abe was connected to, police said, adding that they were investigating why the former PM was targeted out of other people related to the group.

Asked by a member of the Japanese media whether the gunman’s intention was to kill Abe, police say only that Mr Yamagami admitted to shooting the former PM.

Prime Minister Fumio Kishida condemned the attack, saying: “It is barbaric and malicious and it cannot be tolerated.”

This attack was “an act of brutality that happened during the elections – the very foundation of our democracy – and is absolutely unforgivable,” Mr Kishida said, speaking before Abe’s death was confirmed.

A shock killing that could change Japan forever
Abe suffered two bullet wounds to his neck during the attack, and also suffered damage to his heart, doctors said.

He was said to be conscious and responsive in the minutes after the attack, but the 67-year-old’s condition deteriorated.

Doctors said no vital signs were detected by the time the former prime minister was transferred for treatment and he had to receive a blood transfusion in hospital.

Eyewitnesses see man with large gun
Abe was giving a speech for a political candidate at a road junction in the southern city of Nara when the attack happened.

Witnesses saw a man carrying what they described as a large gun fire twice at the former PM from behind. Abe fell to the ground as bystanders screamed in shock and disbelief.

Abe had a security team with him, but it appears the gunman was still able to get within a few metres of Mr Abe without any sort of checks or barrier.

Photos circulating in the aftermath of the shooting showed the suspect standing just behind Mr Abe as he gave his speech.

The improvised weapon lies on the ground after the alleged gunman was arrested

Security officers dived onto the attacker, who made no attempt to run, and seized his weapon.

Local reports say he is a former member of Japan’s Maritime Self-Defense Force, Japan’s equivalent of a navy. He is said to have left active service in 2005.

Abe’s speech was part of a campaign for his former party, the Liberal Democratic Party, as upper house elections in Japan are due to take place later this week.

Ministers across the country were later reportedly told to return to Tokyo immediately.

On Japanese social media, the hashtag “We want democracy, not violence” was trending, with many social media users expressing their horror and disgust about the incident.

In a photograph taken moments before the attack, the alleged gunman can be seen standing behind Mr Abe in a grey t-shirt with a black bag

Abe was campaigning in the southern city of Nara for a parliamentary election – around 300 miles (480km) from the capital city Tokyo
He was giving a speech for political candidate Kei Sato – a current member of the Upper House running for re-election in Nara
At 11:30 local time (02:30 GMT) shots rang out and Abe was shot twice in the neck
He immediately collapsed and was rushed to the nearest hospital
Security officials at the scene tackled the gunman, who is now in custody
An unidentified weapon was filmed on the ground after the attack.

There have been suggestions the attacker was using a home-made gun but police have not confirmed this
After four hours of treatment, Abe was pronounced dead at 17:03 local time (08:03 GMT)
Presentational grey line
Abe, who was Japan’s longest-serving prime minister, held office in 2006 for a year and then again from 2012 to 2020, before stepping down citing health reasons.

He later revealed that he had suffered a relapse of ulcerative colitis, an intestinal disease.

While he was in office, he pushed more assertive policies on defence and foreign policy and had long sought to amend Japan’s pacifist post-war constitution.

He also pushed for an economic policy that came to be known as “Abenomics”, built on monetary easing, fiscal stimulus and structural reforms.

He was succeeded by his close party ally Yoshihide Suga, who was later replaced by Fumio Kishida.

A general view shows workers at the scene after the attack on Japan’s former prime minister Shinzo Abe at Kintetsu Yamato-Saidaiji station square in Nara on July 8

‘Despicable attack’
Gun violence is extremely rare in Japan, where handguns are banned – and incidents of political violence are almost unheard of.

In 2014, there were just six incidents of gun deaths in Japan, as compared to 33,599 in the US. People have to undergo a strict exam and mental health tests in order to buy a gun – and even then, only shotguns and air rifles are allowed.

Prominent voices across the world have been quick to condemn the incident, with UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson calling it a “despicable attack”.

The US ambassador to Japan, Rahm Emanuel, said Abe had been an “outstanding leader of Japan and unwavering ally of the US”.

South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol called the attack an “unacceptable act of crime” and extended condolences to “the Japanese people for having lost their longest-serving prime minister and a respected politician”.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said his country was shocked by the attack.

He added that “this unexpected incident should not be associated with Sino-Japanese relations” and had no comment when asked about Chinese social media reaction.

Comments gloating over the attack on Mr Abe have dominated Chinese social media, and have also surfaced on Korean platforms.

China and South Korea have historically had complicated and fraught relationships with Japan. Abe, known for his military hawkishness, was unpopular with citizens of both countries during his term in office.

Corruption Tori Unveils Season 3 In Abuja

By Obomanu Marvelous

Former Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Godfrey Dikeocha, has called on the national assembly to enact a law that will make it mandatory for details of contracts awarded by all tiers of government which are in excess of 50 million naira to be deposited with the anti-graft agencies.

Hon. Dikeocha who was speaking in Abuja on Tuesday at the unveiling of Season 3 of Anti-corruption programme, Corruption Tori, said that Nigeria’s fight against corruption must move from arrest and prosecution to prevention of corruption.

He told the audience made up Police officers, ICPC operatives and the EFCC that allowing corruption to happen and then those who perpetrate it are arrested and prosecuted may be good before the law but the harm which corruption inflicts on the ordinary Nigerian would have happened while the law is catching up with the criminal.

Honourable Dikeocha also said that the nation must take a hard look at its reward system and give the civil servant living wage because an underpaid civil servant is part of the reason why corruption seems to be endemic within the public sector.

Speaking at the event, CSP EL-Mustapha Sani, who represented the Inspector General of Police, said that the police force was making itself open to receive complaints from members of the public who have issues of corruption against any police officer.

He observed that a situation in which a police constable receives 40 thousand Naira as monthly salary creates temptation to fall for corrupt tendencies.

CSP Sani praised Signature communications for making Nigeria’s younger generation the target of the corruption Tori.

Both ICPC and EFCC commended Signature communications Ltd, producers of corruption for taking the anti-corruption message to the grassroots and school children.

The ICPC representative Garba Akibu said the commission has begun a program of grassroots mobilization and sensitization in its drive to take the fight against corruption to those who suffer the harmful effects of corruption.

He said that since Corruption Tori has focused on the same segment of the Nigerian population, the two organization would need to collaborate more towards the same objective.

The representative of EFCC, Chris Oluka said that the war on corruption must move from a talkshop to action.

He revealed that EFCC was focusing more on preventive strategy because it costs money to arrest and prosecute whereas prevention will save funds, save society from the effects of corruption before it happens and creates trust in the system.

Oluka called for reward for hardwork, competence and integrity and commended Corruption Tori for identifying honest ordinary Nigerians for awards and recognition.

Dayo Olaide, Deputy Director Africa Office of MacArthur Foundation, sponsors of Corruption Tori commended Signature Communications for striving to hand the war on corruption to Nigerian Children.

Dayo said that previous generations have failed subsequent ones and the younger generation need to take back their future by seizing the opportunity which Corruption Tori has provided to define their future and what manner of nation they desire.

He called on the school children who were fully represented at the event to take up the fight, conquer their little school spaces by insisting on what is right and raise their voices in the fight to make Nigeria free from corruption.

The Chief Executive Officer of Signature Communications Ltd, producers of Corruption Tori, VinMartin Obiora Ilo had traced the journey of Corruption Tori in the last three years.

He said the two previous seasons had focused on amplifying corruption stories, investigative reports on corruption and honouring ordinary Nigerians who show corruption wins.

In season 3, whose theme is “Carry the Fight Against Corruption for Head, Na You Get Am” the focus will be on the young generation through establishment of Anti-Corruption clubs in secondary schools and organizing Town Hall meetings at the grassroots.

The event was attended by representative of ActionAid Nigeria, Yar’Adua Foundation and secondary schools in Abuja.

Gov. Soludo Received The Executives Of The Anambra State Association Of Town Unions In Awka

Gov. Soludo Received The Executives Of The Anambra State Association Of Town Unions In Awka in a report received but gisthub24 it interactive.

Details of the meeting is below 👇👇

“I received the Executives of the Anambra State Association of Town Unions (ASATU), led by Barrister Titus Akpudo (Ichaka) at the office today. We had stimulating conversations around the administration of town unions in the State in the

light of emerging realities that leave us with no option but to make our communities more functional. Of course I listened to, and received a charter of demands from the group.

While promising to review these demands, I did not miss to take them through a detailed analysis of where we stand as a State, and the imminent fiscal crisis threatening the viability of many subnationals, and the country at large following the zero contribution of crude oil money to FAAC in the last five months. Prudence is required at this point to cut down cost and increase revenue.

The governance infrastructure at the local level is critical to our mandate of building a Liveable and Prosperous Homeland. This is why our government is committed to ending the spectre of caretaker committees in town union administration. I believe credible elections will bring about transparency and dowse the usual tensions that characterise Town Union leadership in the State. We have also set up a committee to look into the issue of proper delineation of roles between Ndị Igwe and the Presidents General. We need to streamline the organs of government at the community level.

Finally, I left them with a poser, which we must discuss at an expanded fora. Why can’t we have women as Presidents General of communities? I am interested in having this conversation, even though I got responses from them already captured in an earlier paper I wrote sometime ago. We will sure get back to this as promised.”

Why Labour Party Must Immediately Discontinue Any Alliance Negotiation With Kwankwaso

ONWUASOANYA FCC JONES

Following his outing on the Seun Okinbaloye anchored Politics Today on Channels Television, all doubts have been erased that the presidential candidate of the fledgling New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwanso is not ideologically inclined to Mr Peter Obi or the Labour Party, especially, on the key issues driving the former Anambra governor’s aspiration to the presidency.

Dr. Kwankwaso & Mr. Peter Obi

His Excellency Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwanso has regrettably manifested a most distasteful understanding of the Nigerian situation, as he advertised himself as primarily hinging his aspiration to the presidency on the basis of where he comes from rather than where he wants to take Nigeria to, by arguing that his candidacy is propelled by the North rather than by Nigerians and also emphasizing on our ethnic differences rather than blunting them, we should understand that Dr. Kwankwanso sharing a ticket with Peter Obi will alienate genuine Nigerian patriots who have bought into the Peter Obi candidacy out of their convinction that it is a unifying, ideas driven and masses propelled pan Nigerian project.

By coming on Television, even while the alliance talks are yet to be finalized, to categorically foreclose the chances of pairing with Mr. Peter Obi as running mate, Dr. Kwankwanso has shown himself as coming to this alliance negotiations with a closed mindset and as a self-centered manipulator rather than being open to superior ideas, logics and credible electoral and political data or having the slightest pretext to patriotism.

An in-depth analysis of Dr. Kwankwanso’s utterances and arguments on the TV program gives the disturbing impression that the former Minister of Defence might be aiming to be an ethnic inspired candidate, rather than a New Nigeria patriot and advocate which the Peter Obi campaign is hinged on. And it is without any iota of doubt that should Kwankwanso by any political magic or dangerous spin of fate emerge President, he will be one of the worst primordialists and religious bigots to have presided over the affairs of this country.

Advertorial

Kwankwanso’s continuous association with the Peter Obi candidacy will be a liability rather than an asset as his utterances and those of his aides and key supporters have continued to raise eyebrows among patriotic Nigerians who are driving the Peter Obi electoral revolution out of their convinction on his competence and unquestionable patriotism.

It has therefore become pertinent to advise the leadership of the Labour Party to immediately call off any discussions with the New Nigeria Peoples Party, on the issue of forming any alliance between them and our presidential candidate, as the NNPP and her candidate have consistently displayed a most unfortunate insensitivity to the aspirations and desires of long-suffering Nigerians for a working, united and equitable Nigeria and have show themselves as being incapable and unready to support or participate in the process of electing a President that will make this happen in 2023.

It bears reiterating that Mr. Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, is not motivated by any ethnic, sectional or religious sentiments nor is he banking on the votes of a particular section of the country against the other, but inspired by the dream to, working together with like-minds, accomplish a working, productive, secured and equitable Nigeria, for all, and through the votes of all Nigerian patriots from all sections and classes of Nigeria.

Dr. Kwankwanso’s motivation and confidence in vying for the presidency are clearly rooted on some self-serving ethnic and class biases, and such an individual shouldn’t be allowed to taint the purely progressive, selfless and people inspired aspiration of His Excellency Mr. Peter Obi.

Obasanjo Rides Tricycle, Urges Youths On Business

The former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, on Saturday, practically turned a commercial tricycle rider in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, in demonstration of safety of the means of transportation just as he urged youths to embrace every opportunity with hard-work and dedication.

The ride, which took the former President from his Pent House residence at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), through Kuto under bridge, was done amidst greetings and jubilation by shocked onlookers along the road.

In a release by his Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, the onlookers expressed surprise at the former president riding the keke, a reaction Obasanjo said was fuelled by wrongful societal classification of all keke riders as miscreants and the tendency of young people avoiding the virtue of starting small business.

The president, along the route, stopped and picked a male passenger to demonstrate that riding in the tricycle is safe, if used properly and for people to learn how to start small and grow their craft.

Speaking after returning to the OOPL premises, Obasanjo said he embarked on riding the Keke to demonstrate to the people that there was not nothing bad in riding the Keke and using same for commercial purpose.

He said with tricycles and other small scale businesses, youths can be self employed and ultimately, become economically independent.

Obasanjo added that, when 85 Keke given young people across the nation, he received some feedback that made riding keke look like an inappropriate gift, even as some wondered if that was the best for young people.

Obasanjo said he had remained committed to the economic empowerment of young people through initiatives that can generate employment. This is how we csn increasingly address unemployment in Nigeria.

Peter Obi Is Cerebral And Will Cut The Cost Of Governance -Dino Melaye

PETER OBI IS CEREBRAL AND WILL CUT THE COST OF GOVERNANCE – DINO MELAYE

INFERS THAT; ATIKU WILL SUSTAIN THE CULTURE OF WASTE, BUT WILL UNITE NIGERIANS

A key confidante of the Presidential candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Dino Melaye has showered encomiums on the Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, describing him as a “good Nigerian, intellectually and administratively sagacious”.

In a video he posted directly on his verified Facebook page, the former Senator who served as the official agent to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in the PDP presidential primaries agreed with all the qualities possessed by Mr. Peter Obi, which has drawn most Nigerians of goodwill towards supporting the former Anambra State governor to become the next President of Nigeria.

Melaye particularly pointed out the fact that Mr Peter Obi has demonstrated a convincing grasp of what is required to cut cost of governance in the country, but curiously argued that isn’t what Nigeria needs at the moment. He argued that; “Nigeria needs unification more than cutting cost of governance”. However, some Nigerians took him up on that, by faulting his argument.

Reacting to the video, a filmmaker and public affairs analyst, Onwuasoanya FCC Jones, said that there will be no better way to unite Nigeria than cutting the cost of governance. According to him;

“Unifying Nigeria, is not some kind of automated action. You can’t unite Nigerians by merely wishing it. You unite Nigerians through the provision of good governance, and nothing guarantees good governance more than strengthening the economy, and the economy can only become stronger when wastefulness is plugged.”

Speaking further, the political activist and critic said that if Dino Melaye agrees that Peter Obi can cut the cost of governance, then, he has invariably accepted that Peter Obi is the best candidate for Nigerian presidency in 2023.

“Simple logic, Senator Melaye, if you cut the cost of governance, you would have drastically reduced corruption, and when you reduce corruption in public offices, you have inadvertently released more funds into tackling Nigeria’s developmental problems, and when you tackle these, you would have created more jobs and more opportunities for wealth for ordinary Nigerians, and when more Nigerians have jobs and more have access to wealth, there will be less focus on the things that divide us and more attention to the things that unite us. It is actually poverty, injustice and inequity that divide us, and once we address those, we have unified the country.” He concluded.

Many Nigerians have also argued that Senator Melaye’s speech implies that Atiku Abubakar, his principal and preferred candidate, will continue in the habit of squandering Nigeria’s commonwealth through wasteful public expenditures.

Elections Are Not Won On Social Media But 60% Of Those Who Influence The Electorate Are

By Alozie James-Patrick

Social media has emerged as a pivotal battleground to mould public opinion and set an agenda. Social media has become a very competitive tool. Hundreds of political candidates and opinion moulders jostle for the attention of the same audience.

This poses the challenge of creative online crowdsourcing and increases the power of social media influencers. To a considerable extent, the outcome of the 2023 elections may be influenced majorly by social media. Example, is Obidient factor.

The role of media in politics and power struggle earned them the status of “the fourth estate of the realm”. It is almost as if there is no politics without the media. The media disseminate political information, frame messages, and interpret political events for their audience.

However, “the media does not tell people what to think but what to think about”. The traditional media mediates and gatekeeps information to the audience. This gatekeeping function makes the media so powerful that they set agenda for societies.

Change has come. Social media is the new kid on the block, and it has radically democratised the public sphere. With one thousand naira data on your smartphone, you can start a political storm that will have a volcanic impact. Social media is so powerful that any political actor discountenancing them does that at his or her own peril.

Although it has not entirely replaced the traditional media as the fulcrum of political activism, it is the melting pot of political debates and the crucibles of political wrestling in recent times.

In our society, social media has become very potent as weapons of politics. Statistically, there were 40 million social media users in Nigeria. Therefore, it is safe to assume that most voters have access to social media, meaning that social and online media have almost replaced the combined mix of other media as critical avenues of communication in social and political matters.

Social media can be a force for democratic good and a bulwark against autocracy. It provides political actors with platforms for routine political communication between elections to offer unmediated and direct contact to connect leaders and citizenry, and re-energise the political environment.

Nigerian politicians have increasingly used social media for routine political communication to link with their supporters directly.

The jury is out on the role of social media in influencing political outcomes; however, the potency of social media to affect and determine voting behaviour may be limited but significant.

Social media had come of age, and instead of the dominance of that space by young millennials and young adults, we observed that even older people were relying on them for political information and debates.

News and messages quickly go viral through the platforms, with significant consequences. The government hardly controls the social media, and the open space that results is a marketplace of ideas and opinions. Advocates for or against a political actor, party, and politicians, easily contend to win over people to their side via social media.

Social media has afforded activists, whistle-blowers and opposition politicians, whose voices were stifled by the government in power the opportunity to engage with the people. It became challenging to conceal potential harmful information.

The advent of social media has changed how politics is being organised and conducted and the nature of political communication in our societies.

As candidates campaign and dish out their agendas, choose the best.

Don’t Loose Friendship Over Politics

By Alozie James-Patrick

(A Political Writer)

To permit politics to dictate your relationships is to give strangers who care nothing about you more power than they deserve. Friendships and families are actually too precious to throw away for transient reasons.

So many people I know are getting into Facebook fights, WhatsApp wars, group arguments, and interest squabbles. What begins as an ideological dispute ends in bitterness. People are provoking others, demanding those who do or don’t support their candidate leave their platforms, cutting ties with friends and family, and all because of political parties and interest. I can’t even imagine what the Thanksgiving table would be like after elections.

However, the partisan struggle for the control of the power apparatus by this or that temporary manager doesn’t matter as much as election season seems to suggest. You might be being manipulated, and friendships and families are actually too precious to throw away for transient reasons.

It’s a pity to cause permanent rifts, and so unnecessary. The people who rearrange their personal relationships for the election imagine that they are taking control of their lives. They don’t seem to realize that they are actually letting strangers control their lives – strangers who care nothing for them in a system that actually seeks to divide people so it can conquer them. To permit politics to fundamentally alter something so important as friendship is to give politicians more importance than they deserve.

To isolate yourself, and hate others for their views plays into exactly what the political system wants for you to do.

Now, of course there is a proviso here. If there is someone in your platform who is deliberately trolling you, harassing you, and goading you to respond, the best possible response is to block them. Not talk back. Not engage in a tit for tat. Just quietly block, without drama or announcement, much less denunciation.

Most people I know have blocked many people, simply because this election season has been so contentious, with the alt-right and alt-left (who oddly agree on so much) battling it out on social media. Blocking is the far better path than engaging them. Vicious back and forths on the platform can be life-consuming and draining. People who are trying to do that to you deserve exclusion from your conversation circle.

Apart from these cases, it strikes me as pointless to hurl someone out of your life because of political differences.

First, by denying yourself access to different points of view, you risk isolating yourself from a critic who might teach you something you need to know, maybe about anything in life, but maybe even about politics.

Second, talking to people with different opinions keeps you making sense and speaking in a civil way, addressing others in a way that could persuade them.

Third, and most critically, to isolate yourself, hate others for their views, and regard people with different points of view as less deserving of dignified treatment, plays into exactly what the political system wants for you to do.

A counter to my point was offered by a friend of mine last week. Speaking as a libertarian, he said, he regards anyone who supports some leaders action – even just casually and without much thought – as wittingly or unwittingly contributing to an opinion culture that supports rising political violence. The only friends he believes deserve the time of day from him must hold steadfastly to his voluntarist perspective, else he regards them as a direct threat to his life and liberty.

Now, this strikes me as vastly too severe. The truth is that most people who support some leaders actions do not regard themselves as violent people. They believe that they are favoring something that is good for others, perhaps fostering the better life for the community.

For example, if a person favors higher spending on public education, they believe that they are pushing for policies that are good for others, not calling for violence against taxpayers to support unworkable programs. How can you possibly persuade them otherwise if you cut off all ties?

Must everyone agree with you on every jot and tittle of your ideology to be your friend? Must there be zero tolerance for even the slightest difference in outlook, priority, application, and goal of your particular political outlook? In other words, must all your friends believe exactly as you believe?

If this is your perspective, you might consider: there is not much point to being friends and engaging in conversation with someone who has the exact same view on all things that you have. It seems rather boring. Might as well stay home and reflect on your own infallibility.

If we long for a better world of mutual understanding and peace, one way to help achieve it is to live as if it already exists.I like to think of friendship much the way we think of economic exchange. In economics, goods and services do not exchange in the presence of perfect sameness. They exchange because each party to the exchange believes himself or herself will be better off than he or she was before the exchange. It is only in the presence of unequal expectations that exchange becomes mutually rewarding.

It is the same with friendship. We need to hear different points of view. We need the insights of others. Even if we don’t accept them in total, we can still hope to understand people and the world better by considering what others have to say – with sincerity, warmth, and honesty. In other words, friendships like this help us have an open mind and keep us all humble and teachable.

Neither is it a good idea to give up a friendship based on loyalty to a particular candidate. The top contenders for the position have held many different and conflicting views on a huge range of political issues, from Party to primary elections to war. These people are wired to be adaptable based on the polls. To follow one or the other all the way to the point that it affects your associations is to risk compromising your own intellectual integrity.

One of the great tragedies of politics is that it can take people who in real life would be peaceful and loyal and loving friends and turn them into bitter enemies. I’m always struck by this when I see a political rally, with face offs between backers and protesters. What exactly is gained by this? If you put these same people in a shopping mall or movie theater or restaurant, they would have every reason to get along and no reason to be screaming obscenities at each other.

Advertorial

We should hold on to that realization. Each of us is a human being with feelings, hopes, dreams, and a vision of a life well-lived – every single person, regardless of political Party, bloc, gender identity, or ideology. Politics should change nothing about that.

If we long for a better world of mutual understanding and peace, one way to help achieve it is to live as if it already exists. Above all, that means never letting politics get in the way of rewarding human relationships.

As political parties, candidates and diverse interest groups and people campaign, give peace a chance by living and letting others live please.

Who Says Easterners Cannot Be Nigeria’s President? Popular Pastor, Enenche, Asks

The Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr Paul Enenche, has questioned why a south-easterner can’t be Nigeria’s president.

He said this as the nation prepares to elect political office holders in the 2023 election and intrigues still surrounds the zone who should produce the nation’s next president.

In a video posted on his Instagram page on Wednesday, Eneche said, “What is wrong if it is narrowed down for example to south-east? A people who have felt marginalised and oppressed for a long time. Who said that an easterner cannot be a president of Nigeria? What did they do? What is the offence? Who said it? Where was the law made from?

“Go to the South-East once. Those who have gone before are also clamoring to go again, as if some people are not a people. Such uselessness is also happening in some states.”

The Reason Tinubu Might Be Lying About His Certificate

Charles Ogbu on his Facebook wall, wrote:

Make no mistake, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu attended primary and secondary schools. The only reason he would rather lie that he never attended any than submit his certificates to INEC Nigeria is because those documents contain personal information about who HE REALLY IS, his real name, his age, his ancestry etc.

This is the shadowy figure some of you are supporting to come and preside over the destiny of over 200 million people after 8 whole years of the human tragedy called Muhammadu Buhari? And you call this Politics and Right to make choice? How more h£artless can you be? Just because of money that won’t even last you a couple of months??

And why is it that Omoyele Sowore and Sahara Reporters never ever beamed their torchlight on Tinubu and his crooked past EVEN FOR ONCE? Why does Tinubu always escape Sowore and Sahara reporters scrutiny???

When will the indefatigable trio of the irrepressible Rufai, the elegant and brainy Tundu Abiola and the very erudite Reuben Abati of Arise News invite Tinubu or his handlers to their popular morning show and INSIST on extracting SATISFACTORY ANSWERS to the many questions surrounding the man who is contesting to manage the destiny of Nigerians???

When will Premium Times and Simon Kolawole ‘s Cable media platform write investigative piece on Tinubu??? Where is AIT Online? Let’s forget the The Nation Newspaper for obvious reason.

Is the job of the media no longer to serve as the watch dog? Is the media no longer the 4th estate of the realm saddled with the responsibility of entertaining, educating and informing the public?? When will the Nigerian media fulfil their obligations to the Nigerian people on Tinubu??

It is such a curious thing, is it not, that almost all the Nigerian media platforms have dwelt EXTENSIVELY on the candidate they all claim stands no chance of winning the election, Mr. Peter Obi to the point of thoroughly dissecting how much profit or loss the investment he made as governor has recorded (and this is completely okay), but why is none of these media platform dedicating even the littlest percent of that time in analysing the one they all believe stands a reasonable chance of winning the election??

Why is no one asking real questions about Tinubu’s health??

Why the conspiracy of silence on Tinubu’s drug charge in the US even when the document is in the public space? The last time the ever courageous Rufai of Arise Morning Show asked a Tinubu’s aide how his principal made his money, it almost turned to Russia versus Ukraine. Why is it that only independent journalists, writers and activists like Professor Farooq Kperogi, David Hundeyin, Adeyanju Deji and co are asking real questions expected of the media. Even Channels Television and their anchors like Seun Okinbaloye are conveniently silent

Why?

How can we pretend to be okay with the prospect of having a man we know absolutely nothing about, preside over our country???

Are we all under some kind of spell or something???🤔🤔

How To Get Tinubu Produce His Academic Certificates

ONWUASOANYA FCC JONES

Many people may not know, but discussing Nigeria’s politics could be very harmful for one’s mental health. Many times, I had tried to quit, but at other times, I feel that discussing the embarrassment that our politics has become, is a better way to ease the mental pressure I get from merely listening or reading about the escapades of those we look up to as some kind of political lords. Someone recently described 70% of these politicians as lunatics, and I think if they were really lunatics, they might at least provide us some comic relief, but I feel most of them imbeciles and and at the same time m*d, hence, they are too dull to even find a smart way of explaining off their many disastrous flops.

This is why we have a former Senator, a two term governor, a founder of political Parties, a presidential candidate of a governing Party and someone who can in truth be credited for his efforts in fighting for a return to civil rule, struggling to explain off his birth, education and even his name.

I share Charles Ogbu’s analysis that Tinubu has his Primary and Secondary school certificates, but is afraid to present them, because those documents might expose his true background and age. For a man whose first daughter is allegedly about sixty years old, yet claiming to be seventy, Charles’ suspicion might not be out of place.

But, all these assumptions and outright fabrications can actually be put to final rest, if our investigators are serious about digging up the facts. Let me tell you very simple ways this can be done;

1. Tinubu should write to the Primary School he attended or to the Ministry of Education of the State where this school is located, demanding for a file copy of his FSLC.He can make a photocopy of same and present to INEC.

2. He or his representatives should write to WAEC or the exam body that conducted his Secondary School Certificate Examination, and demand for the file copy of his SSCE result.

3. And for his university degree certificate, let the management of the Chicago State University provide another copy of his certificate or send a photocopy of their file copy to him. Writing a letter affirming that he was a student of the school is not acceptable.

The truth is that it is either Tinubu didn’t attend any school or he doesn’t want his secrets about his age and background exposed. Anyone who truly went to any school and actually acquired some certificates will not leave those certificates behind while going on exile. If such a person actually did, then, he or she has a mental problem and is obviously not qualified to seek to govern human beings in this century. That person should apply to be a farm hand in a piggery. Definitely, not as a manager of the piggery, because he will most likely run that piggery aground if left in his care.

Governor Soludo Hosts Experts From World Health Organization In Awka

Recently Governor of Anambra State Prof. Chukwuma Soludo Hosted a team of experts from world health organization WHO in his office Anambra government house Awka, report from his official Facebook page reads…

“I hosted a team of experts from the World Health Organisation (WHO) led by Dr. Walter Kazadi Mulombo, the WHO Country Rep. The visit provided us the opportunity to discuss pertinent issues around healthcare delivery in Anambra State and how to improve systems that will ensure access to quality healthcare for our people.

Currently, our focus is on increasing the manpower at various levels of heathcare delivery, with particular focus on the primary healthcare centres. Our bottom-top approach to healthcare is hinged on available data that shows 80% of heathcare needs are handled by the PHCs whereas 80% of funding is, more often than not, concentrated on Tertiary healthcare institutions.

We are changing this narrative through active collaboration of private-community-public- partnership. We look forward to interventions from the WHO with assurances that we will continue to meet up with our counterpart funding obligations and other support where necessary.”

Ike Ekweremadu: “My Brother’s Son Died Three Weeks After The Kidney Donor Disappeared In India” -Joe Igbokwe Narrates

Since reports had it that Nigerian Senator Ike Ekweremadu was arrested and detained by foreign law enforcement officers over issues bordering on human trafficking for organ harvesting, notable Nigerians have been airing their views across several social media platforms.

Joe Igbokwe, a well known politician and social commentator, took to his social media platform (Facebook) some moments ago to narrate an experience he had regarding kidney transplant. He said, “our (my) brother’s son died 3 weeks after the kidney donor disappeared in India.”

Joe Igbokwe narrated how it all began by saying, “two years ago, we had a similar experience in my family. After making inquiries on kidney transplant, we secured Visas for a trip to India for the donor, the facilitator and our ill brother. After paying huge amount and getting to the hospital in India, the donor suddenly disappeared and the facilitator, who was extorting money from us, abandoned our brother there (in India) and returned to Nigeria. I still cannot recall what the family did to bring the ill son of my brother back home. He eventually died three (3) weeks after his return.”

Again, Joe Igbokwe noted that people should not make fun of Senator Ike Ekweremmadu regarding his recent travails. He said, “please pray that you do not have a kidney, heart or liver problem as you go through the journey of life.” To him, when one is in this kind of situation, one would likely go any length to be alive. He finalized by saying, “pray to God that your Children or brothers and sisters do not witness such Medical issues. I sympathize with the senator who wants his child to live at all costs.”

He urged the public to pray for the senator and his family members. Then, he closed his comment on the issue saying, “this is not the time for political vendetta.”

Organ Harvesting: Photos of The 15-Year-Old Boy Ekweremadu Took To The UK

Photo of alleged 15-year-old boy taken to the United Kingdom by Senator Ike Ekweremadu has surfaced online.

The boy identified as David Ukpo Nwamini was flown to the UK to donate one of his kidneys to Ike Ekweremadu’s daughter who has a kidney ailment.

Ike Ekweremadu and his wife have been arrested in the United Kingdom by the police and detained on allegations of child trafficking and organ harvesting after Ekweremadu had flown David to UK for the kidney transplant, Moore Media Africa reports.

Ekweremadu and his wife were subsequently denied bail in court, and the case adjourned to July 7 for further hearing.

Shortly after the news of Ekweremadu’s arrest, David Ukpo shared a cool photo of himself on his Facebook handle with the caption;

The MaCron Like Revolution That Might Make Peter Obi President

ONWUASOANYA FCC JONES

In April, Emmanuel Macron became the first French President in two decades to win a straight return ticket to the Elysee Palace. He defeated Marie Le Pen of the National Rally Party by what is considered a convincing gap by French electoral standards. But, Macron’s triumph two months ago and his Party’s bad showing in yesterday’s parliamentary election is not the focus of this piece. I am trying to, in as few lines as possible, draw a similarity between Macron’s En Marche of 2017 and Peter Obi’s emerging Labour Party coalition and leave you to decide, if those of us believing that a President Peter Obi is possible in the next 10 months, are just being quixotic, or if there is any chance that our expectations could become reality.

After giving good account of himself in his positions as firstly, a deputy Secretary-General in the Elysee Palace and later as the Minister of the Economy, Industry and Digital Affairs, Mr. Macron left the Socialist administration of Francois Hollander and begun, what politicians and political pundits initially dismissed as some kind of unrealistic political showmanship, with the En Marche. Beginning from hosting and participating in series of public enlightenment programs and television talk shows. In early 2016, just roughly one year before the French presidential election, the 38 year old Macron floated a movement, En Marche, which was later to transform into a full political Party.

From dismissing his movement as some kind of unrealistic joke, the first sign that En Marche’s popularity was rattling the major political Parties, especially, Macron’s Socialist was when top leaders of the Party and officials of the Party began to criticize the Movement, and querying Macron’s loyalty to Francois Hollande’s administration. Macron was deliberate about choosing the focus of his campaign; workers, trade unions, youths and ordinary French citizens. The French media identified with him and gave him mostly positive coverage, which rankled the major Parties; Republicans and Socialists.

Macron resigned from Hollande’s government, but didn’t announce his resignation from the Socialist. The En Marche Movement was yet to become a political Party, hence, when he formally indicated interest in running for the presidency, some top officials of the Socialist Party urged him to take part in the primaries of the Party, but he declined, apparently suspecting that he would be unable to surmount the structures and support of old time members of the Party. He preferred to continue with his En Marche, which he eventually registered as La Republique En Marche and ran successfully on its flag to become the youngest ever President of the Republic of France and the first man outside either the Republican or Socialist Party to have won the presidency in a long time.

Like Peter Obi’s led Labour Party revolution, En Marche, which means; “Republic on the Move” is a centrist and liberal political Party that united both flanks of the political divide; the left and the right, bringing together those who are dissatisfied with or have been displaced in the internal power play within the two major Parties; the Socialist Party and the Republicans, as well as members of smaller political Parties. Also much like the quickly evolving Peter Obi led mass movement in Nigeria, Emmanuel Macron’s En Marche cashed in on the mass repulsion against the establishment and inspired the youths of France to team up with him and take over the leadership of the country. At the end of balloting in 2017, the Party initially dismissed as a mere paper tiger and without the required structures and spread to form a government won the presidency with over 66% of the ballot.

I am one of those who had expressed fears that the Labour Party without strong candidates for legislative positions across the country will not able to reasonably disrupt the system to win the presidency, but when you understand that as at the time Macron won his election, the La Republique En Marche didn’t have one legislative seat to its name. However, given that parliamentary elections usually come two months or less after the presidential election, the Party went ahead to win a commanding majority in the National Assembly two months later.

One might argue that the French democratic and electoral system is different from that of Nigeria and someone might even go ahead to dismiss my permutations as being too romantic, but what no one can take away from the electoral revolution that made Macron President of France and the quickly pacing Peter Obi revolution is that both are built around the ordinary people and not around some big names and political structures.

Macron built coalitions, he didn’t believe that merely inspiring the youths and the masses with his punchy speeches and the reality of his almost stainless background would give him the presidency on a platter of calabash, he moved into the political establishment and raided it. He brought in dissatisfied politicians as well as wealthy moneybags from the two major political Parties and convinced them to invest in his vision for a more progressive France.

While Peter Obi continues to widen his reach within the youth population and working class of Nigeria, he is not also completely ignoring the old political horses. The Peter Obi Movement is making inroads in areas where it would normally be thought impossible before now. PDP and APC big names, including former and serving governors, national assembly members and candidates have already started identifying with the Peter Obi Movement.

None of us who have thrown our hats into the Peter Obi project deceive ourselves with the delusion that it is going to be an easy match to victory, but we understand that if we work hard enough and refuse to be discouraged by some obstacles that will certainly be placed on our way, we shall, like the “Macronites” have the last laugh, if we persevere.

COME, LET’S TAKE BACK NIGERIA!

Onwuasoanya is the director, Strategic Communication of the Peter Obi Support Network (POSN).

Mbaka Makes U-Turn, Succumbs To Peter Obi Supporters

Mbaka Apologizes To Peter Obi

Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry Enugu Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka today apologizes to Mr. Peter Obi the presidential flag bearer of the Labour Party, days after he (Mbaka) called Obi a stingy man that can not win 2023 election, it was traced that his anger on Obi was his refusal to a cash donation to his ministry during one of the harvest of the church.

Mr. Obi insisted that Fr Mbaka show him a project he can partner, but Mbaka insisted on cash telling him that him and Atiku will not win the election.

However last Wednesday Mbaka called out Obi to be a stingy man and that he has cursed him not to win the forthcoming election.

But the internet was let loosed and bubbling hot 🔥 as Youths, Adults, Catholic faithfuls, Priests and Nigerians across the world was heaping insults, abuse and calling Mbaka all sorts of names, and even mandated him to apologize to Mr. Peter Obi.

Today Fr. Mbaka Succumbs to pressure and apologize to The Labour Party Presidential standard bearer.

He said…👇🏻👇🏻

“I Bless Peter Obi”, Says Mbaka As He Asks Obi’s Supporters For Forgiveness

I am grateful to God for His unquantifiable and favourable blessings, miracles, love and life for the Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Nigeria. I assure the people of God and Nigerians that I am praying for Good Governance and Good Leadership in this country and that God will give us leaders after His own Heart.

As it stands right now, it is obvious that Nigeria is passing through an indescribable insecurity, inestimable unemployment, massive corruption, heinous crimes and unbearable suffering engendered by bad leadership. I bear with my fellow country men and women in whatever we are passing through in this trying time. I call on the adorers and the entire people of God to join hands in praying that God will deliver us from the plans of the devil and it’s wicked agents.

I am a servant of God and my intention is not to malign His Excellency, Peter Obi’s image, but to pray for him. May God’s will be done in his life. I pray to God whom I serve to give our beloved people good and excellent leaders who will take care of them and lead them to the promised land. Anyone who God wishes to make our Leader is my choice. In this vein, I give my blessings to the supporters of His Excellency Peter Obi. In any way they feel offended by my utterances or however I was misunderstood by them, I ask for their understanding and forgiveness. As a servant of the Most High God, I pray that it shall be well with my people. I am an ardent supporter of Good Governance, Justice, Equity, Love and Godliness.

At this time our people are passing through the valleys of shadows of death (Ps23.4), I pray for peace, love and anything that will bring blessings and favour to our people and to our suffering teaming youths. I will always stand with you in all your ordeals. God will take care of you and bless you miraculously for me.

My intention is not to fight or malign Mr Obi. May God bless him and his good supporters. God’s will be done in his political endeavours (Mk.14:36). The followers of Peter Obi are the same youths I am praying for, sacrificing for, fighting for , speaking for and working for their integral well being. What the youths are passing through and their conditions give me sleepless nights. It is for this reason that I yearn for good governance and worthy leaders that will take care of them. We are passing through indescribable ,unbearable and undeserved hardship in this country.
I pray for Divine intervention.

I am not in any political party but I support good people and good governance. Any good person that God can give us is my choice candidate. I am a servant of God; For the sake of peace, I ask for forgivensss in any way I am misundrrstood. And to Peter Obi himself, I ask God to bless him and manifest his will in his life. When God says Yes, who can say No? And when God says No, who can say Yes? I bless Peter Obi and pray for him. I bless my dear fellow Adores and pray for them. I bless the people of God everywhere and I pray that it shall be well with you all.

For the sake of those who were gruesomely killed on Pentecost Sunday at St St. Francis Xavier parish Owo, Ondo State who are being buried today, there will be no all-night Adoration program today,17th June 2022. We join the entire Catholic Church to mourn their demise. May their souls and the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in Perfect Peace. Amen.
Meanwhile, all adorers are asked to convene on Sunday 19th June 2022 for our usual 10 am Mass and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and Fellowship. Thank you and God bless you

Mbaka: Obi Will Remain True To Godly Convinctions And Disciplined Dispositions

Onwuasonya FCC Jones

The Peter Obi Support Network (POSN) has received with disappointment, a most disappointing tirade credited to a respected clergy and political activist, Rev. Father Camillius Mbaka, in which he poured out his wrongly strewn sentiments and misconceptions about the persona and character of the frontline presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, and we wish to react as follows;

1. That Mr. Peter Obi holds Reverend Father Mbaka and the entire Adoration Ministries Family, Enugu in very high esteem, and will find time, as soon as he returns from his knowledge – enriching trip to Egypt, to interact with the Priest and clarify, where necessary, on his obvious misconceptions about his character.

2. Mr. Peter Obi is a prudent investor in human capital development and religious works. These are evident through his multimillion Naira investments across different Church parishes, schools, hospitals and in individual interventions in setting up young entrepreneurs and innovators in different fields. However, in line with the Biblical injunction that in Matthew 6:3, Mr. Peter Obi does not have the habit of advertising his philanthropic interventions, and does not wish to learn that, this time. In and out of government , Peter Obi has intervened in several humanitarian situations, within and outside the shores of Nigeria. Notably, he has donated to building and renovation of schools, hospitals, and other public infrastructure, without making noise about it. During the humanitarian crisis in Haiti, he mobilized over 200,000 Dollars in humanitarian aids through his personal donations and those of his friends to alleviate the situation in that country.

3. The Peter Obi Support Network and other accredited support groups for Mr. Peter Obi’s presidential campaign, believe that the actualization or otherwise of a Peter Obi presidency can only be determined by God and majority of Nigerian electorate and we respect the opinions of everyone or group of people who disagree or agree with our positive faith towards our goal of making Peter Obi the next President of Nigeria.

4. We understand that Reverend Father Mbaka is one clergy who is highly passionate about Nigeria’s redemption and greatness and we look forward to working closely with him towards actualizing this shared dream of a; “working, equitable, free and productive country”, from 2023.

5. However, it is important to point out that unlike what Father Mbaka might have been led to believe, Obi is a kind, but self-effacing human capital developer. We cannot outline one tenth of his humanitarian, social and educational development interventions across Nigeria, but a few will suffice; As a businessman, he has thousands of employees across his businesses, whom he pays well.

For years, Peter Obi has donated biillions of Naira to schools; he gave 2 million and 1million each to about 20 schools in Nassarawa and Kogi for books and classroom desks when he was not contesting for election.

Peter Obi has gone as far as Sokoto State to support education and the current governor of Sokoto State, aminu Tambuwal can attest to Peter Obi’s multifarious human based philanthropy and educational development initiatives. In Benue, he has undertaken the renovation of schools without bringing the paparazzi along with him, because he believes that humanistic interventions shouldn’t be done for political advantage.

Borne out of his passion for humanitarian service, he began his refugee work long before he ever became the Governor of Anambra State. He has been to Afghanistan, Rwanda, and Haiti doing refugee work as his contribution to alleviating the plight of citizens of the crisis ravaged countries. When Haiti was almost wiped out by hurricane, he donated and coordinated his friends to raise about Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000.00) to salvage the poor black Caribbean nation.

His 100 Million Naira donation to Bishop Shanahan College in Enugu State is one of many such interventions in schools within and outside the Southeast.

As Peter Obi will always say, being in politics is not only about contesting and winning elections but finding ways to touch lives positively in or outside government,”

Peter Obi has so far visited over 150 schools, which included about 40 health institutions, across the federation. He has committed millions to social, educational and healthcare projects. Part of his pastimes is visiting hospitals quietly to defraud bills of indigent patients.

6. Peter Obi is open to new ideas and new strategies, as long as they do not conflict with his well rooted Godly principles in prudence, humility and impactful philanthropy. He shall welcome ideas on how to alleviate any humanitarian situation, but would not bring himself into the showiness that has defined some ill-motivated philanthropy.

Finally, we urge our supporters to please respect the revered clergy’s opinion and appreciate his right to hold such.

Thank you

Wike Defeats Okowa To Emergence Atiku’s Running Mate

Rivers State Governor Barr Nyesom Wike has defeated his Delta State Counterpart Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to emerge the running mate to the Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Alhaji Atiku Abubakar .

Sources at the National Headquarters of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) confirmed that the committee set up by the PDP to pick Atiku Abubakar’s running mate picked Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike, over Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State

Governor Wike won by a whopping 16-3 votes and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa got only got 3 votes from the committee’s votes.

It was gathered that the committee voted against the choice of Governor Okowa following the pressure by his former Political father James Ibori, it was gathered that Ibori mounted a serious opposition and resistance to Atiku picking Okowa because his former political son Okowa hijacked the PDP delta state structure from him.

The Leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is expected to officially announce the choice of the Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike any moment.

Igbos Are Not Intolerant! – Onwuasonya FCC Jones

I am Onwuasoanya FCC Jones, I am Igbo Nigerian. I believe in one, united and equitable Nigeria.

...Igbos Are Not Intolerant

When you listen to some of my brothers and sisters speak or read their responses to some issues, you might be tempted to think that they are intolerant, but that’s far from who we are. Igbos are among the most tolerant set of people in Nigeria. Sometimes, we love those who are not Igbo, more than we love our fellow Igbos. Among my permanent staff, only one is Igbo from Mbaise. Others are Hausa, Fulani, Tiv and Idoma. Out of my nine permanent staff, only one is Igbo. Go round to Igbo investments and organizations you know, and you would find similar situations.

We are also very emotional and kind people. That is why when we are angry, we let you know our thoughts immediately, without having to harbour malice against you. When you hear or read my brothers ‘insult’ you, most times, it is because you insulted them or someone they love so much, first. It is more reciprocal than being aggressive.

Igbos do not consider any other tribe lower than us, we consider all tribes and people, equal and deserving of fair treatment from the Nigerian system. That is why we are frustrated with the ill-treatments being meted out to Northern minorities, as much as we are saddened about the marginalization of the Igbo.

We do not hate the Fulani nor are we in any kind of cold war with the Hausas. We do not have anything against the Yorubas. We are displeased with the atrocities of terrorist herdsmen, the same way the law abiding and hardworking Fulani cattle herder and farmer is displeased with the activities of the terrorist herdsmen and cattle rustlers. We embrace the industry and knowledgeability of the man from Ife, the same way we celebrate the literary prowess of the Nsukka man.

We are great travelers and traders, we do not keep enemies, we build friendships and bridges of brotherhood across tribes and religions. We mingle, and our mingling is mutually beneficial to all parties concerned.

So, when you hear or read some Igbo joke with you in a way you consider rude, don’t think, thar is the Igbo being himself, being intolerant or being egotistical. Know, that is one Igbo being himself or herself, just like we have the Fulani man who can be intolerant and the Yoruba who might be selfish. But, we understand that is not the Yoruba culture, that is just one Yoruba man behaving.
