Indecent Dressing Is An Act Of Rebellion –Rev Vitalis Nwanne Cautions

By ThankGod Emeh

As the world
changes and as well as degenerates in all ramification, especially
it concerns trends of
materialism which
includes sense of clothing
among others: the Senior
Pastor of Assemblies of
God Church, Umudibia
Nekede in Owerri East
District, Rev. Vitalis
Nwanne has condemned
indecent dressing In its
totality, describing it as
an act of rebellion to God
and the family of God.

Nwanne while making
reference to Proverbs
7:10-11 at a church
function on Sunday
September 17, 2023
charged Christians to
– dress responsibly at all times especially while
appearing in the presence
of God, noting that “the
way one dresses
determines how he or she
is addressed”.

“Indecent dressing is
countercultural to our sociocultural values when
compared with the days of
our Fathers & Mothers
when dressing as a prime
component of culture is
strictly enforced”

The Man of God rebuked the name “Slay
Queen and Slay King”
popularly addressed
among people in society,
stating that “to slay” is to
kill, seduce, distract,
Confuse and all worth not;
hence ought not be heard
among children of God,
and in the presence of
God.

“The Church being the
gathering of the “Called –
Out”, the Body of Christ is
a decent place for decent
lifestyle le including dressing. Indecent dressing which aims at exposes & exhibits Private Parts of the
human body is a dent on
the decency of the
Church; this must be
resisted in love (Agape)”

He said, “the moment you wake up to come to church,
What should come to your
mind, is how to appear
responsibly to honour
God”

“If you are born again,
it will transform your
wardrobe (dressing),
mode of eating, walking,
talking and more”

Nwanne stressed that
the wide saying that
“worshipping and
serving God is in the
heart” is a pure fallacy,
adding that out of the
abundance of the heart,
the sincere “heart” in
question should be
evident in physical
outlook.

The Angel of the church however decried the unwarranted dress codes rampant among
youths such as Sagging,
mini clothes in the name
of modelling and
following trends, describing
it as “prisoner’s wears” who
could not afford clothing.

He said nakedness is
private and supposed to
be honourably hidden
just as treasures such as Gold, Diamond and other
precious stones are
hidden under rocks,
beneath the carth and not
open to everyone except
through intentional
discovery.

Rev. Nwanne noted that it is only right for a
woman’s nakedness to be
discovered by her
husband and vice versa.

“There is no need
closing the doors and
windows to dress up as a
lady and still come out naked”

IMO GUBER: 7 Takeaways From Tony Ejiogu’s Rebuilding Agenda For Imolites

The Imo Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA in the November Governorship election, Sir Tony Ejiogu, flagged off his campaign recently.

In a riveting speech before his supporters, he laid out his agenda to rebuild the state and restore the glory of the eastern heartland.

Below are the 7 takeaways from that speech which highlighted his “Rebuilding Imo Agenda”.

1. Curb Insecurity By 75% In 2 Years According to Sir Tony Ejiogu, his first charge in the rebuilding agenda “is to make our communities liveable again”.

Lamenting the state of insecurity in the State, he recalled that from August 2020 to July 2023, Imo state experienced 209 violent attacks with no fewer than 289 people losing their lives to those attacks, while about 100 people have been kidnapped and mostly unaccounted for subsequently.

He said, “My priority is to restore security to our dear state so that we may once again enjoy the simple pleasures of life and feel safe while at it.”

2. Uproot Poverty, Boost IGR By 50% In 36 Months. Tony Ejiogu also promised to take a multi-pronged approach to poverty alleviation in the State.

The first is by creating a conducive environment for private enterprises to thrive and become the engine of growth for the economy through job creation. This particular measure, he said, is capable of driving up the State’s internally generated revenue by over 50% within 36 months of his government.

The second is by creating a knowledge-based economy where Imo youths inclined in the IT sector will be empowered with the right skill set and exposed to the global tech and digital marketplace for foreign exchange earnings.

He also promised that his support will support all those who choose trade and other forms of entrepreneurship shall be supported in their various businesses with soft loans and entrepreneurial mentorship.

3. Implement One-Community-One-Product (OCOP) Initiative for Exports. This is arguably one of Tony Ejiogu’s most ambitious ideas for the development of the State’s agric sector. According to Ejiogu, this plan is amongst other agro-based interventions that will feature prominently in his government, and will entail “a one-community-one-product (OCOP) initiative to develop specialty products from communities based on existing comparative advantage.”

The overarching objective, according to Ejiogu, is to “make food abundant again, by making it safe for farmers to return to their farmlands, harnessing our agricultural potential fully and making the right investments so that our people can have more than enough to eat”.

4. Raise Minimum Wage to N80,000/Month
Improving worker’s welfare is also top on Ejiogu’s priority.

He told his supporters during the flag-off that one of his visions is to create an Imo “where the minimum wage of an average worker shall be a livable wage of at least N80,000 monthly and our civil service retirement age is officially pegged at 65 years with pensions and gratuities paid as and when due.”

5. Complete Autonomy for Local Governments
Ejiogu also pledged his commitment to devolution of powers, as he has promised to conduct free, fair and credible local government elections and allow them complete financial and operational independence.

He maintained that a part of his vision is to build a new Imo where the third tier government shall indeed exist with complete financial and operational independence, and the culture of impunity, corruption and recklessness shall be dethroned.

6. Promote Good Governance Through Partnership, Accountability, Responsibility and Trust
To promote good governance in the state, Ejiogu said his government shall be a reflection of his lifestyle of modesty and accessibility.

He said, “just like your next-door neighbour, I will operate an open-door policy to make myself available to you. Our commitment to good governance starts with having listening ears to the people we lead because this is how we can journey together and reach the promised land”.

Calling on the people for their support, he said “all hands must be on deck in this PART to rebuild Imo.
And By PART, I mean, joining hands in Partnership, Accountability, Responsibility and Trust. Do your PART to rebuild Imo, I will do MINE”.

7. Prioritise Competitive Academic Curriculum, Retraining of Teachers
According to Ejiogu’s agenda, improving education will be a top priority as he will adopt a unique approach that will see the State refocusing its education objectives on retooling the citizens of the State to be a part of the global economy.

This, he said, forms part of his vision for the new Imo where “competitive academic curriculum shall focus on building students to be self-sustaining, and teachers properly trained to contemporary teaching methodology”.

Imo Guber: Sen. Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu’s Value For Education Is Second To None

“Under Anyanwu’s Watch, Imo Education Sector Shall Come Back Alive And Return To It’s Glory And more”

By Ezekwe, Uche, Owerri Imo State

The Safe, Better and Greater Imo of our dreams that we pray and seek today would only be a reality when we put into actions and show and demonstrate unalloyed support to the incoming Government of the MAKE IMO SAFE AGAIN ably led by His Excellency, Sen Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu and Rt. Jones Onyereri , Ph.D.

There is no gainsaying that all sectors of Imo Economy are all in the state of comatose and should be of a great concern to all well meaning Imo sons and daughters as we have no other state to call ours but Imo and posterity won’t be kind to us if we keep mum and allow things to continue to go the way it’s going in every sector. Just like the high level of insecurity of lives and properties , the Agric Sector, Health Sector, Commerce and Industry, Poor Road Network, Lack of Portable Water, Infrastructure, Education being the discourse of this article, etc.

Under Sen. Uzodinma’s nose, Imo Education Sector is dead and buried and the records are there for us to see for ourselves. The Imo Academic Excellence is now a thing of the past. No man offers what he doesn’t have, especially when it comes to Education, there is no backdoor in Education. The Ben Johnson’s way doesn’t exist in Education, hence, Imo Education Sector must have to come back alive and the key to resurrect Imo Education Sector is in the hands of the man of the People, by. The People and for The People, Imo Incoming Governor, His Excellency, Sen Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu, I call him the Solution Bearer.

It’s pertinent for us as a people to know that the collapse of education in Imo is the collapse of Governance and that is why Imo State has collapsed in every aspect of governance but because we are optimistic that Samdaddy is coming, Imo Education sector shall breathe again.

For our knowledge and information, Education is the bedrock of any well-meaning Nation or State, and should be pursued with all vigour and sense of seriousness towards stimulating growth and development. Its importance to whoever has it is unquantifiable and not having it renders one almost impotent. This assertion is true as education is seen as the total development of an individual. One of the biggest reasons why education is important is that it helps us become better versions of ourselves and by extension the society at large.

A visit to some of the state owned Primary and Secondary Schools in Imo shows that Imo Education Sector is nothing to write home about as majority of these Secondary Schools lack Science Teachers such as Teachers for Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Mathematics, and many more. Despite millions budgeted for the Education Sector in Imo, 90% of these Schools have no learning conducive environment, no classroom blocks, no learning equipment and facilities, yet we claim to have a Governor in Imo, no wonder Sen. Anyanwu has maintained that Imo Douglas House Is Vacant and it’s our desire and prayer that he, Anyanwu occupies that vacant seat to salvage our dear Imo State from the shackles of bad governance.

Sen. Anyanwu, as Imo State Governor come 11th November, 2023, shall invest in Education meaningfully because he is determined to give our children A proper education that would set them up to grow personally, professionally, and socially.

Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu will ensure that IMO state returns to her known academic excellence in Tertiary Institutions, Secondary and our Primary Education, respectively.

It may interest you to know that IMO state no longer take the lead in WACE again due to poor academic orientation, bad governance and lack of learning materials and non-conducive environment across board.

Our state of education has gone into the abysmal comatose state, that people now feels so sorry for our state of education sector in Imo.

Under Anyanwu’s watch, IMO education sector shall see the light of the day and her lost academic glory shall be restored and fixed to function optimally.

Under his watch, our Education System shall engage qualified and certified teachers and lecturers with wide experience and exposure in education and what it entails.

Education is the bedrock of any nation that wish to grown and under Anyanwu’s watch, our education sector shall be placed on an enviable height with well polished learning atmosphere with the welfare of the teachers well taken care of as one of his major priorities in the Make Imo Safe Again government.

Anyanwu, as a man who knows the essentialism of Education to man and his society will never turn down the education sector in IMO because, he knows the rudiments of education and it’s role for societal growth and development.

With him, our education sector shall have befitting look in environment, academic performance as he is poised to providing us with an academic enabling conducive learning environment for our better tomorrow and sound educational background.

Woman Beats Up Husband Over Relationship With Pastor

A middle aged woman, yesterday, in Aba, Abia State, bèat up her husband for daring to question her relationship with a pastor living in their area.

The mother of three, whose full identity was not immediately known, but lives along Ukonu Street, off the Ajah-Ngwa Road area of Aba South, allegedly got angered when her spouse complained that the quantity and quality of food she takes to the pastor, was better than what she dispenses at home.

Witnesses said the lady, a member of the pastor’s church, was displeased with her husband’s observation and reacted by s!apping, pushing and holding him down on the ground before neighbours came to his rescue. She was said to have threatened to move out of her matrimonial home, claiming that her spouse and neighbours were monitoring her activities and accusing her of acts she never engaged in.

An elderly man in the vicinity, who pleaded anonymity, told Daily Sun that the pastor, who lives and operates a new generation church in the area, had variously been rumoured to be flirting with young women, even in the presence of their spouses.

Imo Guber: Imo State Local Government System Shall Function Again And Be Returned To The People

Imo Guber: Imo State Local Government System Shall Function Again And Be Returned To The People

– Our Local Government System Shall Function Optimally Under Sen. Anyanwu’s Watch

By Ezekwe, Uche, Owerri, Imo State

It’s a known fact that in life, people do not abandon their origin or root in the journey of life or political trajectory. It’s an established fact that the incoming Governor of Imo State, the Imo liberator, His Excellency, Sen Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu , is a grassroot politician who has been very close to the people as a two term Council Boss, he was very close to the owners of Local Government being the rural dwellers.

The people under this Democratic dispensation just as Abraham Lincoln said that “Democracy is the Government of the People, by the People and For the People” but the reverse is the case in Imo today, because the Local Government Council system is nothing to write home about as the current and outgoing Governor Uzodinma has pocketed and bastardized the Imo State Local Government system and it’s funds and activities for selfish reasons as he has continued to operate with the one-man show called SOLAD thereby denying thousands of Ndi Imo the opportunity of benefiting from collective treasure at the Local Government level.

There is no gainsaying that the incoming Governor Samuel, would definitely return the local government system to the people by 2024 as the Governor of Imo State.

I know, you know and we know that if the Local Government Council is functioning under Sen Uzodinma’s Administration, a whole lot of families would have been taken out of poverty and I will explain because it’s going to function optimally under the Make Imo Safe Again of Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu led Administration.

Anyanwu as a product of the Local Government, under his watch, Imo local government Council shall function optimally because election shall be conducted democratically and they people shall be allowed to elect for themselves Council Chairman and Councilors.

By the time twenty Seven (27) Local Government Council Chairmen are elected, 27 Vice Chairmen, 27 Council Scribes, 305 Ward Councilors elected, aides appointed under the Chairman’s office, Vice Chairman’s office, Scribes office, Councilors with their own aides, Supervisory Councilors, etc, a lot of families in the rural areas would be taken out of poverty but because of the present government’s greed and hatred on Ndi Imo, these persons whose constitutional rights are denied and all that accrued to them taken by the Uzodinma led Administration all to himself without putting Ndi Imo into consideration looking at the economy of the Nation but by the GRACE OF GOD, IMO MUST BE LIBERATED COME NOVEMBER 11TH, 2023.

Therefore, it’s important that I take us down the memory lane so as to remind us how the Local Government started and it’s reasons and functions all geared for the people to feel the presence of government and good Governance while at the rural areas. The nature and character of local government in Nigeria today (except for few infractions) is largely the product of the 1976 Local Government Reform by the Murtala/Obasanjo regime. The Reform is marked with bringing uniformity to the cacophony and disharmony that once reigned on local government system in Nigeria. In the 1976 Local Government Reform Guidelines, the Federal Government of Nigeria defined local government as “Government at local levels exercised through representative councils established by law to exercise specific powers within defined areas.” The powers which the local representative councils can exercise within their jurisdiction are local affairs “(including staffing) and institutional and financial powers to initiate and to determine and implement projects so as to compliment the activities of the state and federal government in their areas, and ensure through devolution of functions to those councils and through the active participation of the people and their traditional institutions, that local initiative and response to local needs and conditions are maximized” (FGN, 1976).

The 1976 Local Government Reform made local government a tier of government in Nigeria, the third tier after the federal and state governments as the first and second tiers respectively. The Reform in this regard availed what are local governments in Nigeria to have clearly defined boundaries, structure, functions, and financial autonomy.

The major essence of it is taking Government closer to the people. Local government takes government to the backyards of the local population, and this strengthens governance and prevents the near “Governmentlessness” situation at the grassroots due to poor influence of faraway government. Thus, one of the major reasons for the creation of local government in Nigeria is to make comprehensive governance possible. The closeness of government to the grassroots also gives the local population some sense of belonging, and allows them to take their destinies into their hands. Providing a need-sensitive development.

Some of the reasons for the Local Government system are:

1. Bringing the Government Nearer to the People: Local governments are created so that those at the grassroots will be part of the Government and good Governance.

2. Employment: Employment and job opportunities are provided at the local level.

3. Local Participation: It provides opportunities for the local people to participate in the politics of their country.

4. Even Development: Creation of local Government provides the avenue for even development of all parts of the country.

5. Diverse Interests: The interests of the local people differ and the creation of local governments is seen as one way to cater for these interests and more.

Today in Imo, it’s crystal clear that the Local Government system is a thing of the past but Ndi Imo cry no more for Samuel is coming to restore back the lost glorious days of Imo Local Government system where Job opportunities, Rehabilitation of rural roads, Renovation of Primary healthcare centers, classroom blocks, etc shall be seen in our land again.

Conclusively, SEN. SAMUEL NNAEMEKA ANYANWU, AS YOUR GOVERNOR COME 11TH NOVEMBER, 2023, WILL RETURN AND RESTORE THE LOST GLORY OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT SYSTEM IN IMO.

Hence, Let’s join him today and MAKE IMO SAFE AGAIN.

Together, We Will Make Imo Safe Again.

Nov.11th Guber Election : Ejiogu Pledges Commitment To Workers’ Welfare, To Pay N80K Minimum Wage

The Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA in the November Imo Governorship election, Sir Tony Ejiogu has pledged to improve the welfare of Imo workers by increasing the minimum wage to at least 80,000 naira per month while settling pensions and gratuities as and when due.

Ejiogu made this pledge while delivering a speech at the flag-off of his campaign on Thursday in Owerri, Imo State capital, where he also promised to rebuild Imo by tackling insecurity and reviving the economy of the State.

In an emotion-laden stump speech, Ejiogu who went down memory lane and bemoaned the lost glory of the State, said Imo has moved from the Eastern heartland to become the Eastern wasteland over the past three years and promised to tackle the security menace through a potpourri of measures including strengthening law enforcement, and investing significantly in community engagement to identify conflict drivers.

He said it was time to remind Imo people, that “In spite of our past triumphs and legacies, this is a time of great tension between good and evil, progress and retrogression, and a time to choose whether to continue on the path of destruction or begin the process of rebuilding our dear Imo”.

“My first charge in the rebuilding agenda is to make our communities liveable again. From August 2020 to July 2023, our dear Imo state has experienced 209 violent attacks. No fewer than 289 people have lost their lives to those attacks, while about 100 people have been kidnapped and mostly unaccounted for subsequently.

“These are not just numbers. They are our sons, daughters, fathers and mothers, cousins and uncles. Who among you today still sleeps with both eyes closed? Who among you today will invite your friends from across the Niger to Imo for your children’s traditional marriage ceremony? These simple gestures that define us are now being threatened by the forces of evil. My priority is to restore security to our dear state so that we may once again enjoy the simple pleasures of life and feel safe while at it,” Ejiogu said.

While lamenting that despite boasting one of the highest literacy rates in the country, Ejiogu decried Imo’s unenviable status as the headquarters of youth unemployment in Nigeria. He, therefore vowed to implement strategic economic reforms and initiatives that will create the enabling environment for private enterprises to thrive and create much-needed jobs, thereby tackling poverty by its roots, while boosting internally generated revenue, IGR by 50% within three years.

The APGA flagbearer, whose candidacy is shaping up to be one of the strongest contenders in the race to the Imo government house in the November election, also promised to pay Imo workers a liveable minimum wage of at least 80,000 naira per month, while settling pension and gratuities as and when due.

Ejiogu also said his economic agenda will feature aggressive reforms of the agricultural sector to tackle food insecurity by harnessing the potential of the sector in the state through his “One-Community-One-Product (OCOP)” initiative, which will enable the state to develop specialty products from communities based on existing comparative advantage.

The former Seminarian said the time has come for all Imo people to shed their inhibitions, forget their differences and “choose to rebuild Imo by voting for the right leadership in the November Governorship election”.

He added, “My stewardship shall remain committed to a purposeful, people-centred, servant leadership that considers our people’s plight and incredible strength in delivering social justice, good governance, and engendering economic prosperity and protection for all. Ndi Imo deserves fresh ideas and initiatives that will set and propel our dear state on a trajectory of peace, growth and limitless prosperity.”

Ejiogu also pledged his commitment to full devolution of powers and the restoration of the local government system by conducting free, fair and credible local government elections upon assumption of office, and allowing them complete financial and operational independence.

Ejiogu Rejects Rented Crowd For Campaign Flag-off

APGA’s candidate in the forthcoming Imo state governorship election, Sir Tony Ejiogu, has reportedly told his political associates that he wants to run a campaign that will feature genuine supporters and true believers in his vision and not a crowd of rented praise singers.

According to one of the close aides of the Owerri-born politician, who pleaded anonymity, Ejiogu made this declaration during a meeting in the buildup to his campaign flag-off which holds on Thursday, August 31 at the All Saints Anglican Cathedral in Egbu, Owerri North LGA of Imo state.

According to the source, Tony Ejiogu insisted that his campaign flag-off is not a test of his popularity, nor is it a competition with the career politicians that he is contesting against. Rather, it is an event where he intends to share a vision with like minds regardless of social and economic status.

He further said that his emergence as the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate without bribing or paying anyone is an indication that when the people are presented with a true heart with honest intentions, they will offer their support freely.

He argued that several politicians have lost elections in the past, despite the huge crowds at their campaign rallies, and their claims that the masses were with them. The logic is that campaign crowds are never proof of the people’s support and most times they do not translate into votes.

Since his emergence as APGA’s flag bearer, Tony Ejiogu’s popularity has been growing fast among young people in Imo state because he represents a departure from the political class that has ruled the state for many years.

“Our people deserve better than being used and dumped. I place a higher value on my people than trying to buy them to support me to become governor. What will be the future of our vision for a new Imo state if all I do is to repeat those same practices that got us where we are now?” he reportedly asked his associates.

Our source added that he had become more convinced that Tony Ejiogu’s candidacy and modesty will challenge the culture of monetized politics in Nigeria as it represents a model for how visionary leaders lead.

The First Time I Patronized A Hookup Girl Was The Last Time I Ever Made Such A Move.

The first time I patronized a hookup girl was the last time I ever made such a move.

E reach my turn I go carry Queen mother.

So I had acquired this girl’s number from an agent and called her almost immediately. We spoke on phone for a couple of minutes and after a short bargain, we finally agreed on a fee.

I sent her my hotel address and room number and she promised to come in an hour time.

I waited till almost eternity, daughter of eve never showed up.

I was set to call back the agent when her call suddenly came in. She apologized for the delay and told me she was close by.

The time was past 11PM when she finally arrived the hotel.

After another round of plea from her, I buried my grievance and went to the bathroom for a quick shower. When I was done, she too went in to freshen up.

Meanwhile I had already locked the door and swallowed the key.

While I was still waiting for her, at exactly 12midnight, I suddenly heard a harrowing cry from the bathroom. I jumped off the bed in fright and called out to her. There was no response.

I tiptoed to the bathroom and placed my ears by the door. I heard voices in low tones.

“Why did you let him live?” I heard a hoarse masculine voice.

“My Lord! I tried my best to lure him but, but.” Another stuttering voice replied, it was hers

“You had a simple task!” The masculine voice yelled “But you failed to deliver!”

“My Lord!” Her trembling voice came up again “Please just a second chance! I promise to deliver! just this once!”

By this time I was already wearing my clothes in readiness to flee. I was also sweating profusely despite the presence of the chilling air-conditioner. I spoke in tongues for the very first time.

It was when I had reached the exit door that I realized I had fuc-ked up. I began to bang the door ceaselessly, calling on whosoever could hear me… Now I was crying.

I was still banging the door when the bathroom door swung open and she stepped out. She had a towel tied round her.

“Sweetheart! You’re dressed up. Where are you going?” She asked me

“I forgot, I wan buy, I just want to” I stuttered incoherently, moving frightfully towards the open window.

“What are you saying?” She quizzed further “You’re even sweating and crying”

She was still speaking when I jumped out the open window and landed on the roof of the security house. I didn’t mind, I still jumped to the floor and took to my heels in the dark.

I was lucky to spot a bike-man and I quickly flagged him down and hopped behind.

“Oga where you dey go?” The bike-man asked me

“Oga just dey fire dey go” I replied in tears “Help me find any bible believing church enter”

Kidnap Of Anambra Born Billionaire Native Doctor, ” Akwa Okuku Tiwara Aki”, And Confirmation Of GOD’S OVER-RIDING POWER.

By: Sam Onwuemeodo.

This story won’t be all about the man mentioned above. Rather, l have only chosen to leverage on the incident to bring something to bear. To drop something on the table. And l wish you follow me closely. Welcome.

His real name is Chinedu Nwangwu. A billionaire native doctor from Oba, in ldemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

As a well known Native Doctor with fat pocket , he chose to go by the name, “akwa okuku tiwara aki”. Which, when translated, means, ” an egg that breaks Palm nut”. Perhaps, to intimidate people or to create a threatening or fearsome impression about himself and what he could do .

ln lgboland and even elsewhere, the popular belief is that, it’s not possible or easy for an egg to break Palm nut. Quote impossible. Reason being that, an egg is naturally very fragile. And palm nut is very strong that only hammer or big stone can break it. Those of us who grew up in the villages or rural areas would understand better . Who had used palm nuts to drink garri or chew corn. That was the name, the native doctor under scrutiny gave to himself. He decided to answer. To show or dramatize how powerful he has been or how “powerful” his charms could be.

All these gimmicks worked extensively and excessively for the man. Billionaires and millionaires alike had patronized him in their large number. Resulting also in his becoming an acknowledged or well known billionaire.

lnfact, his shrine had literarily become ” mecca” for rich people in need or want of charms for protection or for some other reasons. “Pilgrims” who needed jazz or charms for reasons best known to them.

At a time, he had openly boasted that he would use his jazz to disarm whoever that would want to shoot him. To show what he had imagined he was capable of doing with his charms.

He became a frontrow billionaire. A known billionaire. Having choice cars , hotels, choice properties in Anambra and other places. ln other words, he became a highly successful native doctor. Giving insight into the level of patronage he had gotten before now. And indeed, the calibre or quality of those who had patronized him. Showing that he wasn’t there for those who came for charms or jazz for “achaere” or boils or malaria or typhoid. But for those who came for “odieshi” charms and perhaps, for money making or money manufacturing charms and so on.

But have you read or heard about the big story?. At night, on Sunday , July 23, 2023, kidnappers stormed the man’s hotel, Triple P hotel, being one of the three hotels he built at Oba and kidnapped him. Abducted him. And took him away.

ln the process of his abduction, two of his aides were killed by the kidnappers before being taken away by his uninvited visitors, to unknown destination. And at the time of writing this, he has been held for two days by the “invaders”. The jazz he had openly boasted of, could not disarm his abductors. Could not stop the killing of his two aides. Could not stop his being taken away. Or, even make the vehicle with which he was taken away to develop fault or fail to move. No response of any kind or magnitude from his side.

I hasten to allude inter alia; That, the kidnappers didn’t do well by kidnapping the man . They should not have kidnapped a man like that just for ransom. That’s ungodly. And highly condemnable.

My prayer and perhaps, the prayer of all men and women of meek dispositions is that, GOD would protect him and deliver him from the hands of the kidnappers. Let him come out alive and unharmed .

But a lot of lessons are embedded in this ugly incident. Memory verses. And that’s my interest, both simple and compound.

That is to say , the man has been eating his victims mugu. Another mega version of Yahoo Yahoo or 419. He has been tricking people with non existent jazz with power to do strange or awkward or extraordinary things. For certain overtures. And he had made billions from all that.

Those who doubted or still doubt the biblical story of Saul, who later became Paul and ended up becoming one of the greatest apostles the bible recorded could now believe that story, with the “akwa okuku tiwara aki” kidnap incident. Although with slight difference. One, struck with blindness and another, being kidnapped.

It’s now further proved beyond every shadow of doubt that, GOD’S POWER REMAINS THE ULTIMATE POWER”. And every other power outside this power of God is a make-belief or smokescreen. Just mere sinking sand. Abracadabra. Kposhi kposhi. The more you look, the more you do not see anything to believe or to behold.

Protection is in the hand of God . Or, is of God. Safety is in the hand of God. Or, is of God. If you are still in doubt, go and ask akwa okuku tiwara aki. He would be in a better position to tell you.

l won’t also be shocked if at the end of the day, the man would denounce all his past tricks and also becomes a preacher of the gospel. Telling people that the power of God is the correct power. The main “egg” that breaks Palm nut.

All those holding his jazz or charm for one reason or the other, would begin to see the extent of their foolishness or stupidity. They would begin to see that they have been alive or still living by the GRACE OF GOD and not by the jazz given to them by the ldemili man. They would begin to realize that they had spent their millions wrongly and for the wrong reasons.

By now, some of those who had patronized the man must have thrown away all the rubbish he gave to them. And would have regretted all the time and money spent. Some of them must have also brought human beings for rituals or sacrifices by akwa okuku tiwara aki. And all have ended becoming balderdash.
Bunkums. Of no effect. Neither here nor there.

To subdue his victims psychologically, he must have asked some of them to be naked and perhaps bath with pond water or human urine and they did, all in an effort to acquire power or jazz from a man who was just defrauding them.

In the den of his abductors, his conscience must have been telling him the extent he had defrauded people with his deceit. The extent he has also been exposed or disgraced. Even, after he must have been released by his attackers, some of those who had paid largely for one jazz or the other, might be coming for refund. And he would discover that there is no peace for the wicked.

Aside this particular case, it’s also a valid information or a revelation for those holding all kinds of jazz or charms from other sources, to know that what they have been holding has no life in it and can’t act. The height of deceit by their fellow human beings. And if they desire or want to be on the right path , they would do themselves great favour by throwing the rubbish or ” rubbishes” away. And begin to look upto God for divine protection or safety. For the real odieshi. Not groundnut oil mixed with Aboki perfume.

If God can’t protect you, no one else can do so. He owns the life we live or enjoy. And he would guide or guard it till the day is done. There is no point looking for protection where there is none. ln jazz or in whatever other name it might be called.

Man-made protection devices would remain very defective. Even police dogs. Events have shown that moving with bulletproof cars or vests does not guarantee protection or safety. Moving with lorry load of armed security personnel does not also guarantee anything. An egg that breaks Palm nut or akwa okuku tiwara aki has given much credence to this fact. That, there is no protection or safety outside GOD.

Those who had joined one ocultic group or the other, to secure or safeguard life or some other reasons in the 60s or 70s and so on, how many of them are still alive today?. Most of them must have gone . Must have left this World. Showing that they had wasted their times and money in doing that. Enrolling as members of the ocultic groups. lgnorance made available. lgnorance at its peak. The story won’t be different for those in such groups today .

After this ldemili man’s incident , any man or woman still keeping jazz or charm for any reason deserves to be pitied. Deserves sympathy. The person should not wait to be told to throw that nonsense away.

David said in the book of Psalms 76: 6, ” at thy rebuke, O GOD of Jacob , both the Chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep”. Do you understand? . SIMPLICITA.

Chapter 60: 11, says , ” Give us help from trouble, for vain is the help of man”. Vain is the help of akwa okuku tiwara aki.

God announced that every power in heaven and on earth has been given to Jesus. The custodian of the divine power of God. And those who believe in him, are also authorized to use this unimaginable power. This ultimate power .You do not need to go to akwa okuku tiwara aki for power. The main power is at your door step once you subscribe into the name of Jesus. The only name that could scare kidnappers. l tell you. You do not need to tie it on your waist or neck like they tie jazz or charms . The power of God is in you and in me . ln your spirit. ln your tongue. ln my spirit. ln my tongue and so on. When you speak , you release power. Results oriented power. Not kposhi kposhi. Okirika-wake-up power. Aba na anya power.

Akwa okuku tiwara aki, your abductors would release you unhurt. But your kidnap has strengthened the fact that you have all these while hoodwinking people, promising to give them power you didn’t have or you’re not capable of giving. Your incident has strengthened the fact that, the power of life and death, or for protection or safety is of God. Not of any man.

To the GLORY OF GOD, we shall continue to clap for Jesus.

The group who served as Executive Chairmen, Vice Chairmen, Councillors and Supervisory Councillors in 2018 made this pledge when they paid a special visit to the PDP standard bearer on Sunday at his residence in Owerri.

Speaking, state Chairman of ALGON, Hon Barr Austin Mbagwu and former Executive Chairman of Nkwerre local government area said that among all those vying for the number one position in the state, the PDP Candidate appeared to be more credible, reliable, humble, formidable and determined to bring peace in the state.

Barr Mbagwu further reiterated the resolve of his members to support Senator Anyanwu and his Deputy, Rt Hon Onyereri in the November election, expressing optimism that Imo state would be liberated from the shackles of division, kidnapping, poverty, violence and thuggery once they were elected to preside over the affairs of the state.

According to him, the state has witnessed peace, unity and a secured society during previous administrations, regretting that under the present government, hundreds of innocent lives have been reportedly lost for committing no crime.

The ALGON Chairman further expressed surprise that after a court of competent jurisdiction gave judgement restoring them as Chairmen, the government has refused to implement the order and as well, denied all avenues aimed at ensuring that all their accumulated and outstanding allowances were paid.

While assuring that his members would join hands with patriotic Nigerians to return peace to the state by massively voting for the PDP candidate, Barr Mbagwu also pleaded with Imo people not to allow this opportunity to flip off their hands.

Commending them for the bold step, the PDP Governorship Candidate, Senator Anyanwu described them as true agents of change who have rejected all financial inducement for the sake of making Imo safe again.

Anyanwu, while wondering why Imo people were killed daily like goats by suspected armed militia group alleged to be loyal to the APC, further promised to stop restiveness, corruption, thuggery, and as well restore confidence that would guarantee lasting peace and unity with a view to boosting the state’s economy.

He charged them not to limit the mobilization to only their members, adding that since the project was to make Imo Safe Again, every willing Imo person at the grassroot should be incorporated to be able to realize the mandate.

While charging Imo people not to be afraid of APC intimidation and harassment in its desperate bid to retain power, assuring that no vote cast for PDP in the November election would ever be hijacked by anyone.

Senator Izunaso Begins ₦2B Agricultural Empowerment Scheme In Orly Zone

– PARTNERS SOUTH AFRICAN FIRM, AGRI CROWDY

By Kennedy Iwuoha

Orlu Zone in Imo State is set to become a major player in the agricultural sector within the ECOWAS sub-region, as Senator Osita Izunaso, who represents the senatorial district in the upper chamber of Nigeria’s National Assembly, has struck over ₦2 Billion deal with a reputable South African agricultural company, Agri Crowdy, for the training and empowerment of about 1,200 Orlu indigenes in the various agricultural fields.

Already, expatriates from Agri Crowdy in South Africa have commenced some pilot projects in the Zone, and have also held series of workshops with the leadership Senator Izunaso’s organization, Kpakpando Foundation, and concluded studies on the arability of the different soils in parts of Orlu Zone to the growth of different high-value crops.

Speaking during a workshop organized recently, the lawmaker highlighted that the essence of the initiative is to complement the efforts of the State Government under Governor Hope Uzodimma in addressing unemployment and ensuring food security through robust agricultural programs. He said that the 1,200 beneficiaries will be drawn from the 12 local government areas in the Zone, with each LGA bringing 100 persons.

In his remarks, the Chairman of Agri Crowdy, Franklin Ngoforo, noted that the mandate is to create wealth and expand job opportunities by intervening and facilitating job and wealth creation through the entire agricultural value chain in Orlu Zone.

According to him, “Seed multiplication farms, livestock and fish breeding centers, have been set up to facilitate access to high-yielding, disease-resistant inputs. Also, hectares of land have been acquired in parts of the Zone and will soon be put under cultivation which will be allotted to the beneficiaries trained as ‘agripreneurs’.

“Urban agriculture would also be an integral part of this initiative to train service providers and extension workers. Our company, Agri Crowdy, will also play a role as an offtaker to ensure quick access to market for the outputs. We are making Orlu Zone the food basket of Nigeria,” he said.

The CEO of Agri Crowdy Farms, Rochelle Petersen, in her presentation clarified that there is a difference between farming and the business of farming. She argued that, with the studies which her company has concluded, the lowest-hanging fruit to lift majority of the people in Orlu Zone out of poverty is to train them on the business of farming. For her, the enormous agricultural potentials of the Zone are sufficient to create a new generation of people who are gainfully engaged and who can participate effectively in national and global economy.

Impact Of The Nova Kakhovka Dam Collapse In Ukraine

The collapse of the Nova Kakhovka dam in southern Ukraine is one of the biggest industrial and ecological disasters in Europe for decades. The catastrophe has destroyed entire villages, flooded farmland, deprived tens of thousands of people of power and clean water, and caused massive environmental damage.

It’s still impossible to say whether the dam collapsed because it was deliberately targeted or if the breach could have been caused by structural failure. The dam and hydroelectric power plant are under Russian control and therefore inaccessible to independent investigators, leaving experts around the world trying to piece together what happened based on limited visual evidence.

Several Western officials have blamed Russia for the disaster, either directly accusing Moscow of targeting the dam or saying that Russia is responsible simply because it is the aggressor in the war on Ukraine.

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres described the destruction as “another devastating consequence of the Russian invasion of Ukraine,” but added that the UN doesn’t have access to information to independently verify the cause.

A NATO military official told CNN that, while it will take some time before they know for certain who was responsible for the destruction of the Nova Kakhovka dam in Ukraine, they believe Russia was likely behind it. The official added that Russia stood the most to gain by the move, which could potentially slow down an anticipated Ukrainian counteroffensive, if it were to take place in that part of the country.

A number of civil engineering experts have suggested that an explosion inside the structure is the most likely cause of the dam breach, although it’s not the only possible explanation.

Here are the three main theories on what caused the collapse – and what experts and officials say about each:

Did Russia do it?
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, his government and the country’s military were quick to blame Moscow for the disaster. They said Russian forces blew up the reservoir from inside, with Zelensky quoting a report by Ukrainian intelligence last year that claimed occupying troops had mined the dam.

The Ukrainians point out that the facility has been under Russian control for the past year, making it easy for Russian forces to plant explosives.

Social media posts indicate that people in the area heard the sound of explosions around the time the dam was thought to have been damaged.

The wider timing of the incident is not insignificant. While Moscow and Kyiv have previously accused each other of plotting to blow up the Soviet-era dam, this collapse coincided with Ukrainian forces gearing up for their widely expected summer counter-offensive.

The dam spans the Dnipro River, a major waterway that has become a front line in the conflict and the scene of heavy fighting in this part of southern Ukraine. The city of Kherson, which sits on the west bank of the Dnipro river, was liberated by the Ukrainian military in November after eight months of Russian occupation. But much of the east bank of the river south of the Nova Kakhovka dam remains under Russian control.

Ukraine’s forces have increasingly taken the battle to Russia’s entrenched front lines in the south and east, and Kyiv has accused Russia of blowing up the dam “in panic.”

Mykhailo Podolyak, a senior aide to Zelensky, said “the terrorists’ goal is obvious – to create obstacles for the offensive actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.”

“This once again confirms that the Kremlin is not thinking strategically, but rather in terms of short-term situational advantages. But the consequences are already catastrophic,” he told CNN.

The damage is also affecting the area north of the reservoir, where water levels are falling. The collapse has left 94% of irrigation systems in Kherson, 74% in Zaporizhzhia and 30% in Dnipro regions “without a source of water,” according to the Ukrainian Agricultural Ministry.

The Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant also lies upstream from the destroyed dam. The reservoir supplies cooling water to the plant, Europe’s largest nuclear power station, and is crucial for its safety. The plant is under Russian control, which has been a major source of anxiety for the Ukrainians, still scared by the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster.
Could it have been a missile attack by Ukraine?

Russia has denied any involvement in the disaster and in turn accused Ukraine of destroying the dam, without providing evidence.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov claimed the attack was “planned and carried out by order received from Kyiv, from the Kyiv regime,” aiming to “deprive Crimea of water” and to distract from the battlefield. Ukraine has denied the accusations.

The reservoir supplies water to large swaths of southern Ukraine, including to the Crimean peninsula which Russia illegally annexed in 2014.

Crimea has experienced water issues ever since Ukraine cut its supply shortly after the annexation. Russian forces captured the North Crimea Canal – which is fed by the Kakhovka reservoir – and began restoring the water supply in the first days of their invasion in 2022.

While the flooding will likely affect any counteroffensive by Ukraine, it’s also impacting Russian forces. Some of the areas worst hit by the disaster are under Russia’s control and have in the past served as staging grounds for Moscow’s military.

The Ukrainian city of Korsunka seen in a satellite image on June 7 after flooding caused by the collapsed dam.
There are also suggestions that the dam collapse took at least some Russian forces by surprise.

An officer in Ukraine’s armed forces told CNN that his men witnessed Russian soldiers being swept up in flood waters and fleeing the east bank of the Dnipro River. Capt. Andrei Pidlisnyi told CNN in a telephone interview that when the dam burst in the early hours of Tuesday morning, “no one on the Russian side was able to get away. All the regiments the Russians had on that side were flooded.” CNN cannot independently verify his account.

Russia has accused Ukraine of launching “mass artillery attacks” on the dam, but some experts question whether it would even be possible to cause destruction on this scale from the outside.

Several experts said an internal explosion was a more likely explanation.

“Shelling by Ukraine is highly unlikely as it would need to get massive explosives close to the foundations,” Chris Binnie, a visiting professor at University of Exeter and the chair of Tidal Engineering and Environmental Services, told the UK Science Media Centre.

Craig Goff, the technical director and lead of the Dams and Reservoirs team at HR Wallingford, a civil engineering and environmental hydraulics consultancy, said inflicting enough damage on the dam would require a very precise strike.

“Back in the Second World War, there were the [Royal Air Force] Dambusters attacks on German dams and they had to spend a lot of time working out exactly where to place explosives on the dam in order to cause enough damage to cause it to breach,” he told CNN.

“It wasn’t a simple thing. You had to get the explosives right down on the upstream side of the dam at a deep depth. If it was just the top off the dam then it would probably still survive. You’d lose a bit of water but it would survive,” Goff said.

Structural failure?
The Nova Kakhovka dam – the largest reservoir in Ukraine in terms of volume – is also the furthest downstream of a cascade of six Soviet-era dams on the Dnipro River. The fact that the facility has been operating for many decades has prompted speculation around a possible technical failure.

“The section of dam that we’re looking at is a concrete gravity dam, 35 meters high and 85 meters long (115 feet high and 279 feet long). This is a very common type of dam all around the world. They’ve been built for hundreds of years and if they were designed and built well and are maintained adequately, then the chance of a failure is very, very low. It would be extremely unusual for this type of dam to fail with no warning,” Goff said.

However it is unclear how well the dam has been maintained under Russian occupation. The surrounding area has been one of the most heavily contested regions since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 and the dam has sustained some prior damage.

Sections of the northern part of the dam and some sluice gates were also impacted in an explosion in November as the Russian military retreated from the west bank of the Dnipro and Kherson was liberated by Ukrainian troops.

A CNN analysis of satellite imagery from Maxar shows the road above the dam was damaged just days before the structural collapse. The satellite images show the bridge was intact on May 28 but imagery from June 5 shows a section of the same bridge missing. Analysis of lower resolution satellite imagery suggests the loss of the bridge section took place between June 1 and 2.

Meanwhile, data shows water levels in the reservoir behind the dam were at record highs last month, according to the Hydroweb information service.

“The images I have seen show two breaches, either side of a structure. Were the breach to be caused by excess upstream water level there would only be one. Thus natural causes are highly unlikely,” Binnie said.

“The design of the dam will take into account these very high water levels, even extreme, biblical type flooding and there will be spillways to allow the water to go over. So again, the dam shouldn’t fail just because of high water levels,” Goff added.

Experts are also considering whether a failure inside the power plant could have caused the collapse. Goff pointed to the 2009 explosion at the Sayano-Shushenskaya station, the largest hydroelectric plant in Russia. “In that particular case, there was a problem with one of the turbines. It vibrated and eventually the turbine exploded. And that killed people inside the power house, but it didn’t affect the dam on that in that instance, because of the way the dam was built,” he said.

“It is possible that if the hydropower station was at a critical point inside the dam and that something bad happened in that power house that possibly could have caused an explosion inside that would damage the dam,” Goff said. He added, however, that it would be “extremely unlikely” for such an accident to happen without advance warning.

“You would know how to operate the dam safely and you would know that the turbines shouldn’t be vibrating that much… so if it was being looked after properly, you can probably rule that one out,” he said.

But as the plant had been under Russian control for over a year, no one can be sure what was happening inside during that time, and it’s far from certain if those who operated it knew what they were doing.

Abaribe: How Orji Kalu Handed My Convoy To His Wife After My Swearing-In As Deputy Governor

Abaribe: How Orji Kalu Handed My Convoy To His Wife After My Swearing-In As Deputy Governor.

Lawmaker representing Abia South Senatorial district, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, has recounted an experience he had when he was sworn in as Deputy Governor of Abia State.

Abaribe and Orji Uzor Kalu, now a Senator, took oath of office as Governor and Deputy Governor on May 29, 1999.

During an interactive session with journalists in Umuahia, Abia capital, he recounted how his convoy was taken away from him on inauguration day.

“I was sitting at the podium in Umuahia stadium, there was a flashback, I remembered exactly what happened to me as a deputy governor.”

“I went to shake the now deputy governor, Emetu, and I looked at him and I just laughed you know why? On the day I was sworn in, I took the oath first, the governor, Kalu, took the oath, after everything was done and we were to go to Okpara auditorium for lunch, I couldn’t find my vehicle.

“The vehicle was given to me by the departing colonel Obi, a convoy, and we stood there, I and my wife, and we were looking, where is the convoy? Eventually, we managed to scramble into a relative’s vehicle to take us to the event centre.

“We found out that from the field there, somebody had given instruction for the convoy to move and that they were no longer my convoy and it was now designated as the convoy of the wife of the governor.

“When I confronted the governor the next Monday, I said what happened? he said “I didn’t know, they just told me it is my wife’s convoy and I said ok, let them move it. This is the kind of things that people see in politics.

“There are two ways to react; you lie back and take it or you strongly protest and then you are tagged a trouble maker.”

Kalu had not responded to Daily Trust inquiries on the development as of the time this report was filed.

Saint Obi: The Actual Cause Of His Painful Death Finally Reaveled

Marriage is for better for worse, but how true and real is it that one should sacrifice his/her life on the alter of painful, wicked, hurtful and enjoyable marriage.

The truth is that many marriages today are suffering and the people involved are smiling in the midst of their suffering marriage, the story of Saint Obi the now late Nollywood star is one out thiusands, one could imagine why he chose to be silent over these years and now eveytevery is let out of bag.

He was gentle cool and loving but the irony of marriage has taking him faster than it should be.

read below to know the true cause of his death as narrated by or of his close friend…

HOW BAD MARRIAGE DESTROYED SAINT OBI

His social life was blunted. Perhaps by his reticent disposition. His persona, two dimensional. To a distant public, he was upscale and cool . His manly bearing spoke loud. His onscreen image ironically amplified some idiosyncrasies ; heroics, romantic adventures and traits that did not gel with the mortal privacy that eerily define his quiet and lonely life.
Saint Obi, real name, Obinna Nwafor, was shy, almost bordering on timidity and insecurity. He cherished the pleasantly tranquil interractions among a few friends. He would vanish at any outburst that could upset the poise of such small meetings. As he repeatedly told me, he just wanted to live a cool, quiet and fulfilled life.
But, has he lived this cool and fulfilled life he envisioned ? I have my doubts.
I tell Saint’s story here with painful tears in my eyes ; because he was a star, a super star whose life turned out a gleam of irony .

Yet, it was this stardom that fetched him his much professed financially strong and powerful wife and their wedding, that solemn ritual of love would drastically alter the cause of his life and tragically yank him off the creative community that threw him up for the wife to capture and indeed conquer.
Their marriage was at best a dramatization of love, it was quick as he barely told us that he found a wife . Then, the marriage happened, it was something of a mystique, only those involved understood the histrionics that played out and none of us who were his closest pals, who walked with him through the crucible to the crest of his career in Nollywood, none of us was invited.

The distance between us and the guy I admirably called Saint of the Storm had begun . This gulf would widen with each year, we saw him perhaps once in a year after this marriage.

And life actually seemed to have given him a fair shake of the dice. He dressed well, drove big cars and even his skin, in literal lingo, spelt wellness.  The Saint would be blessed with three beautiful children but not on one occasion were his friends in Nollywood invited for christening or birthday. We were told that his wife was of the topmost hierarchy in telecom giant, MTN. But even if their celebrations were designed to be a rendezvous of the elites of the technocracies that his wife chiefly belonged, you expected that Saint would reach out to a few of his fellow creatives, for even if they would herald his small beginnings , there could be no tinge of shame to it because we all have our journeys and our stories. And even at that, the actor or cineaste in Nollywood is by no means poor.
But more tragic is the fact that his marriage did not only take away Obinna from his friends, it took him away from Nollywood. Saint stopped acting, absconded from his career and perhaps his calling it would seem prognostic now. Yes, because I recall leaving my house in Lagos Mainland for his massive office in Lekki, Victoria Island, Lagos, it was about six years ago there, I demanded to know why my friend abandoned our industry. He told me with his usual shy expressions that he wanted to focus on some other businesses and also to work behind the camera. Because his visage was unconvincing to me, I told him in stark terms, that whatever his new vision and pursuits, he must not abandon the trade that made him who he was.
It took another three years for Saint to return to his homies.

But when he did, some of the deeply disappointed ones sniggered behind him. This was because the simmering rumours of cracks in his marriage had hit home and though secretive in his ways, he knew it was time to open up and he did. ” I do not know why my wife’s sibblings see me as a gold digger. They confront me, harass and fight me in my own matrimony. And my wife did nothing to stop them. I work hard, I earn my money, i have never depended on my wife “, he lamented, eyes blurred with tears. You could tell he was in deep pain.

By the next visit, the Saint returned with a deep cut from knife on his left eye. His wife’s brothers, he said , scaled the wall fence of their house to attack him. They were captured by hidden closed-circuit television, CCTV, installed for surveillance and security, he revealed.
He reported them at the police station and subsequently acquired a gun to defend himself, and this effectively marked the beginning of the end of his marriage and perhaps Saint Obi’s long walk to a sad end. He moved out of his marital home to a new house to begin the reconstruction of his destiny, alone without his wife and worse still without his three beautiful children.

Meanwhile, his wife went to the police to defend her sibblings using her financial power to manipulate the cause of justice, Saint stated unequivocally. The wife also sued for divorce, not in Lagos, but in Ogun state. As Saint put it, ” It was to make the journey difficult for me. But I will not bend neither will I break. I will fight with my last blood to take custody of my children. They love me and they know it will be hard for me to live without them. The divorce is not an issue. My marriage has long been over “, he said with a mix of courage and a quaky heart that betrayed his distress.
About mid last year, however, Obinna took ill but he told no one. He simply became scarce, he was in and out of hospital, we would later learn. He sold two of his three big SUVs to take proper care of his health and to acquire six camry cars he’d use for Uber. But his vanishing health continued unabated.

He seemed to have a premonition of his own passing as he wept repeatedly about not seeing his children he emaciated. Life took a grim picture when I saw him by chance in January 2023, the dude called Saint looked 15 years older than his age.

His macho cut had shrunk, his fat wallet was gone. What was left was only his fat will, his eyes seemed lost in their socket, this would be the last time I would see him.
Saint snuck out of Lagos to hang in with his sister in Jos and he told no one.
But a month ago, in April precisely, the once delightful actor who brought joy to many a home broke his icy silence. He called our mutual friend in US to give him a devastating message. He was on a deathbed, he said and wanted our friend to pray for him. ” It’s not looking good, pray, pray for me “, he appealed passionately. His next call came on May 1, 2023. This time to his mentor, the man who made him a star with his productions, Zeb Ejiro, OON. He told him with a wavering voice that he had had three surgeries but was still in hospital in Jos. He averred again that his situation was not looking good, that he is also in a deep pain, distressed that he could not see his children. But still he begged him not to tell anyone about his ailment. Such was the life of this creative hermit, a lonely trouper.
I was the first to hear the news of his death late on Sunday, May 7. Having confirmed it, I called Zeb Ejiro . ” I have a very bad news my brother, Zeb “, I began. ” What is it, what is it, “, he asked anxiously. “A big star has fallen in Nollywood “. Zeb broke down in tears. I hadn’t said who it was. But sobbing helplessly now, he said, ” Don’t tell me it is Saint Obi “.
Sadly, he was right.
