BREAKING: Nigerian Forces Kill ISWAP Leader, Sani Shuwaram

Islamic State’s West African Province (ISWAP) leader Sani Shuwaram, is dead, according to PRNigeria.

In November 2021, the ISWAP Shura (Judicial) Council installed the 45-year-old as the new Wali (Head) in Lake Chad.

Shuwaram and other terrorists were eliminated after aerial bombardments carried out in Marte Local Government Area of Borno State.

Super Tucano jets flown by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) rained missiles on a number of identified ISWAP hideouts.

Shuwaram reportedly died from gunshot wounds sustained in the strikes that hit the sect’s camps at the Sabon Tumbun area of Lake Chad.

“Shuwaram was among terrorists injured by NAF air interdiction missions conducted at Sabon Tumbun near Kirta Wulgo.

“Subsequent strikes to his death alongside other ISWAP fighters receiving treatment including Abu Ibrahim”, a military officer confirmed.

NAF Director of Public Relations, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet said air and ground troops have continued military offensive around Kirta Wulgo.

“We don’t want to be dragged into making any statement or confirmation based on rumours or hearsay.

“Nevertheless, troops at the frontline alongside other agencies have sustained strikes against terrorist leaders and their enclaves until we get this job done”, the spokesman added.

Anambra: You Must Not Arrest, Jail Or Kill Our Members – IPOB Warns Soludo

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has warned the Governor of Anambra State, Charles Soludo against going after its members.

IPOB warned Soludo not to succumb to advice of arresting, imprisoning, and killing its members in the State.

Emma Powerful, spokesman of the separatist group, warned that such a step would mark the begining of Soludo’s failure as a governor.

Powerful also cautioned the new governor against repeating the same mistake his predecessor, Willie Obiano made while in power.

He, however, assured Soludo of IPOB’s cooperation and support.

The group was reacting to Soludo’s recent comment that he was willing to work with the group to tackle insecurity in the State.

According to Powerful: “Anambra State governor professor Charles C.Soludo in other to succeed must not take seriously those or anyone whether part of his government or not that will advice him to arrest, imprison, and kill IPOB family members in Anambra State because if he listen to those criminal political harlots, that will be the beginning of his failure as a governor.

“We, therefore, advise Soludo to remain focused on his vision and mission and shun distractions and bad advice from evil politicians. He should not repeat the mistakes of his predecessor Willie Obiano, who allowed himself to be used by Fulani people to persecute our people.

Nigerian Lawyer Safely Lands In Trouble In The U.K For Telling A Job Seeker “I like What I See”

A Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal panel has fined a United Kingdom-based Nigerian lawyer, Victor Nwosu, 48, almost £45,000 for s#xually objectifying a young paralegal seeking her first job by making erotic remarks during an interview.

According to the Daily Mail, Nwosu interviewed the 22-year-old lady for a position at his law firm in April 2018. She described how he told her ‘you’re very pretty’ and ‘I only employ beautiful women’ among other unwanted compliments, before quizzing her over whether she had a boyfriend or a brother.

Nwosu, said to be the head of a law firm, was quoted as telling the female candidate ‘mmm, I like what I see’ during the interview and told her to ‘only wear skirts and high heels’, a disciplinary hearing was told.

The young woman, who has a first class degree and a masters, said she was the first woman in her family to go to university and sobbed after the tr@unatic interview and reported him to regulators the next day to prevent other women being put in a similar position.

She said that she was so ‘horrified’ that when he briefly left the room, she messaged her friends and boyfriend, saying ‘I don’t know if I want to work here’ adding that she felt ‘scared’.

“He said that I was very, very beautiful. He told me that I have to wear skirts when I come into work, he doesn’t like it when women wear trousers. He was undressing me with his eyes and he kept leaning forward and I’d lean back. I felt like an object. I felt so small. God I’m actually crying. The owner of the firm is disg#sting,” she said in a message to her friends.

The Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal found him guilty and fined him £20,000 for his conduct and ordered him to pay additional costs of £23,550.

Nwosu, who denied all the allegations, said he was happily married and called the case ‘female activism gone wrong’. He said it would be ‘rude’ for the tribunal to believe the woman over him, ‘a solicitor of the Supreme Court’. But the panel found his remarks had ‘séxual connotations’.

Zugacoin Gains More Grounds In Nigerian Market As Means Of Transaction

Many people have commenced accepting ZUGACOIN for goods and services across Nigeria based on the light they received from the live broadcast by Archbishop Prof Sam Zuga for the past 3 days.

Archbishop Sam Zuga the first professor of digital economy and the founder of the Africa’s first Crypocurrency, Zugacoin revealed that transacting with the digital money comes in three different categories of Merchants in Samzuga ecosystem which are PREMIUM, REGISTERED & VERIFIED MERCHANTS.

The Cleric who is a serial entrepreneur explained in details the three categories and how they work.

“PREMIUM MERCHANTS
These are people who would be accepting ZUGACOIN for goods and services without any form of registration both online and offline. They can just print a banner and put in their business place with an inscription of ZUGACOIN ACCEPTED HERE. This can be done anywhere in the world without regulations. It all depends on how much ZUGACOIN and the type of ZUGACOIN he or she has decided to accept for his or her goods and services.

REGISTERED MERCHANTS
These are people who paid money to the company’s account, forwarded payment proof to the number that was published and received a temporary code, as soon as they received an information on what to do to get an automated code, they will be waiting for the training on how to get 5% on top of any product he or she sold in ZUGACOIN. Such a person can begin as a PREMIUM MERCHANT pending the time such process would be completed. Some people who paid online and did their registration are also in this category.

VERIFIED MERCHANTS
When the informations of both 1&2 are uploaded, their Know Your Customer (KYC) documents and Customer Due Dilligence (DDD) documents are completed and verified by the technical team in such a way that, by one click, you will be able to see all verified merchants in the locality or the neighborhood of the person who is searching for ZUGACOIN Merchant, that is when a Merchant is considered to be a VERIFIED MERCHANT.

Accepting ZUGACOIN for goods and services is for your own advantage, you are not doing anyone a favor. Very soon, ZUGACOIN will become hot cake in Nigeria and Africa, you that accumulated ZUGACOIN enough will be on advantage that time.

There is no magic that can stabilize Fiat Currency in Nigeria and Africa any time soon. ZUGACOIN is the only hope and the way forward in Nigeria and African Financial Revolution. Believe it now or regret later.

FESTAC Policeman Is Informant To Robbery Gang Victim Reveals

They are members of different confraternities, from different states of Nigeria. They have been intimidating  residents  at will, dispossessing  them of cash, telephones and other valuables. They also  extort money from hoteliers , traders and Point of Sale ,PoS operators ,  unchallenged.

Attempts by the traders to refuse to part with cash resulted in their shops being burgled, or fun seekers at the hotels and clubs  harassed or kidnapped, with ransom paid for their release.

Welcome to the world of the Crack Squad, a robbery gang that has been terrorizing  Lumac and its environs in  Satellite Town, Amuwo  Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State, since last year.

Members of this gang as gathered,  held girls  hostage in their apartments  for days and subjected  them to sexual assault before releasing them. They also always molest married women.

Surprisingly, women were discovered to be members too. These women  sell hard drugs commonly known as mpurumiri., openly on the streets and hostels scattered around the area.

Other traders who sell the same products but are not members of the Crack Squad , have had their drugs seized severally, without having the audacity to challenge the gang. Some of these traders had to quit  sales  of illicit drugs , all in a bid to be free from the ceaseless harassment.

For the female members of the gang, they are used as bait to get rich men who patronize hotels and clubs in the area.  These men would be kidnapped  and released after parting with huge ransom.

Interestingly, after committing these   havocs, members of the gang as gathered,  would escape  through the  river , to the other side of the local government , whenever security operatives came  raiding.

Arrest.

But luck ran against the gang recently, following the arrest of   five suspected members, among who were two women, by  detectives of the Lagos State Police   Command’s Special Squad.

Crime Guard gathered that   one of them , a suspected female member who also doubled as the gang’s armourer, Blessing Gabriel, 30, was apprehended last month , after other members of the gang who were earlier arrested, led detectives to her alleged criminal hideout on   Olasunoye street, Satellite.

A miniature English pistol concealed in a bag and some hard drugs tucked under her brazier , were recovered from her.

suspects gave identities of leader of the gang as Ndukwe , a.k.a Hefty  and his deputy, Amadi .Confesses.

Blessing , a mother of two, who confessed to being a member of the Vi-queen cult group, however denied being a member of the Crack Squad.

She said: “ I joined  Vi-queens  cult group since I was a student in Nuhu Bamali  Polytechnic, Zaria, Kaduna State. Unfortunately, I dropped out of school when I lost my dad.

“I started selling hard drugs when I entered the streets, in satellite Town and I made N5000 daily.  I  gave  hard drugs commonly called ICE or mpurumiri, to members of  the Crack Squad  so that they won’t disturb  me when I am selling.  Everyone  knows that members of the squad are deadly. Their leader is  Hefty. He is on the run.

Members of the  Crack Squad  kidnapped my boyfriend , Afro, from Obiagu club where he went  for leisure. My boyfriend is married with four children but he sent his family to the village, while he is hustling on the streets. They told my boyfriend I was the one that masterminded his kidnap.

Gang’s armourer

Asked what she was doing with the pistol found on her, she replied, “  I was on my way to return the gun to Afro, my boyfriend  when the Police invaded the area. But I lied to the Police that the gun belongs to Hefty ,  leader of the gang, in order to protect my boyfriend and to get back at Hefty because he  and members of his gang came to rob me  of my drugs the night the Police came raiding”.

Attack

She was also accused of  masterminding the robbery operation of one of the  traders in the area, identified simply as Obiora. Again, she denied, explaining rather that ,”Mr Obiora is a drug dealer. He  sells  around Ijegun. NDLEA  once arrested  me.  The operatives  asked me to mention names of people selling drugs around that area, but I refused.

“I was released because there was no evidence to prove that I was selling drugs. After my release,  I decided  to  meet Mr Obiora  to suggest  that we should contribute some amount  of money to take to the NDLEA officials  since they now have an office at Ijegun. That way, they  would not come and  raid at  our end.

“On my way to his place,  I met Hefty. He asked where I was  going and I told him. But he doubted me and decided to accompany me there. On reaching Obiora’s place, we met his wife. I collected Obiora’s drugs, left my phone number with the little boy that was with his wife, with an instruction that Obiora should  call me when he returned. He actually came to meet me , we arranged on how to negotiate with the NDLEA officials and  I immediately returned his stuff back. I didn’t rob him”

Hefty raped me at will – drug dealer

Another   arrested female suspect, Chidinmma Madukwe, 32, who also  confessed to having been into sales of illicit drugs  at Lumac area of Satellite,  said she was forced to stop selling following pressure from the leader of the Crack squad, Hefty.

She  disclosed that she was kidnapped last August  in Obiagu, by Hefty and  members of his gang.

She said: “They took me to Baale street  at Ijegun, and collected all my drugs (mkpurummiri ), including the  cash I was with and the ones in  my bank account too.

“After some days, I saw Hefty at my house, I was shocked and asked how he knew my house. He  said one of his boys located my place. Hefty is somebody that everyone feared because he usually  carried guns around. He always intimidated and oppressed   me because I have no one here in Lagos.

Police betrayal

“ I once  reported how he had been intimidating me , to a policeman at Area ‘E’ , Festac Town.  But to my surprise, the policeman   told Hefty that I wanted  to burst  his gang. Hefty and his boys came to my house,  beat me up and left me with injuries on my face.

This, (pointing to a scar on her left ear) was what he did to me.  Since then, he has been coming to my house.  Each time he came with his boys,  they would  beat me and my younger  brother, and collect our valuables including  phones.  No one would come to our help even when we raised the alarm.

Most times,  he would rape me, without using condom. I had to move out of the house when I could not pay the rent, as I was forced to stop selling hard drugs due to the incessant seizure of my goods  by the Crack Squad. I had to go into prostitution to make ends meet” , stated the Anambra State born.

How Crack Squad was formed – suspect

Other suspected members of the gang  that were arrested included: Ikechukwu Chikwau ,25; Aleke Onyeka,28; Anthony Nwachukwu,, 25 and Odo Solomon,32. They were all arrested at different times.

One of them, revealed that members of the gang belong to separate cult groups such as Eiye, Aiye, Arobaga and Vi-Kings.

Explaining how the Crack Squad was created , Odo, said: “The Crack Squad  didn’t start as any squad. Hefty, created it.  We started by gathering on the street . Whenever we did not have money to buy  mpurumiri, Hefty would  buy on credit and pay later.

Before you knew it , the squad was created. The reason you don’t hear much about cult clashes in our area is because they belong to the same squad.

“At one point, I stopped  hanging out with them because they said they didn’t trust me anymore. Sometimes we might sit  together and they would  be planning something without my knowledge. But whenever they strike, everybody will assume I am one of them”.

The suspects, according to the out-gone  Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, would be charged to court, even as he revealed  that 226 persons were arrested between January and March 1, 2022, for various offences.

Why I Visited Okpoko First After My Inauguration – Soludo

Why Okpoko?

One of the amusing retortions I have received since I expressed readiness to set off from Okpoko is, “why Okpoko?”. There seems to be some sense of self-centred prioritisation from a few who believe there are more pressing issues than heading to Okpoko on a rescue mission. When you probe further to situate their dissent in context, what you get is that innocent desire in all of us to always “begin charity from home”. This may not be totally bad, especially when we all agree where home is or should be.

For me, it is One Anambra, one People, one Agenda.

If this be the case, it then follows that the often taken for granted but real assumption that “every system is only as strong as its weakest link” must then apply. This makes Okpoko a priority for starters and should worry every onye Anambra how a State that prides itself as the light of the nation would keep a deafening silence as Okpoko dies, yet spreading infectious social, economic and environmental malady that leaves Onitsha as a City in self-destruct.

Ụmụnnem, ife dị na Okpoko; the Genius, the unemployed and the criminal. The challenge before us is to decide whether to continue ruing the ugly situation or turn the flipside that will provide us enormous opportunities for the development of our Homeland.

Okpoko is the largest Urban slum in Anambra State. Therefore, we have to begin our urban renewal effort from our weakest link. Like my now 16 year old daughter once asked me when she was just 14, “it is not enough to wish change or show the will to cause a change. How are you sure, Daddy, that the people themselves want to change?”

Of course, this is not so easy a question to be answered without far-reaching consultation with the people. So far, the people of Okpoko and residents, from Ndikpa to East Niger, are more in a hurry for a change than we can ever be.

That trip I made in 2009 to Okpoko where I was accosted by a little boy, who raced towards me and audaciously demanded, “Soludo nyem ego” still occupies a better part of my memory. That boy, and millions like him need much more than money. They need a life.

May God help us!

Why I Gave Ebele Obiano, A Dirty Slap At Soludo’s Inauguration – Bianca Ojukwu

Former Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain and the Vatican, Mrs Bianca Ojukwu, Friday, explained why she gave former Anambra State First Lady, Ebelechukwu Obiano, a ‘dirty slap’ at the inauguration of Charles Soludo as Governor of Anambra State in Awka.

In her official reaction to her face off with Ebelechukwu, Mrs Ojukwu said in an interview with Arise tv “As the inaugural ceremonies for Prof Charles Soludo and his deputy began and all guests were seated, the Former First Lady of Anambra State, Mrs Ebele Obiano, was noticeably absent.

“She then arrived some one-and-a-half hours later while the ceremony was on. I didn’t pay any particular attention to her arrival. Surprisingly, she then walked towards me and I thought she was coming to greet me. Instead , she verbally attacked me with her voiced raised, taunting me and asking me what I was there to do using unprintable vile language.

“She asked if I had come to celebrate their last day in office. But I ignore her completely. Then, she kept aggressively putting her hands on my shoulders and shouting. While I ignored her verbal onslaught, as advised by those sitting around me, I requested twice that she refrained from touching me with her hands.

“She proceeded to do so yet again and tried to touch my head and remove my head-tie. It was at this point that I stood up to defend myself and gave her a dirty slap to stop her from attacking me. As she made towards me, I then pulled away her wig. She then held on to her wig with her two hands and tried to take the wig away from me.

“The former APGA chairman, Umeh, told her to leave me and told everyone to leave. I was stunned by the stench of whisky in her breath at such an early hour of the day. How could a first lady be so drunk at that time? I stayed back to watch the ceremony to the end and left with my dignity intact” she said

Exchange Of Slaps Between Lady Bianca And Lady Ebele Disgraceful -Idonyerin Eyo

WHAT HAPPENED TO GRACEFUL WOMANHOOD? :-

I have watched various videos and read various excerpts of the incident that took place at the inauguration ceremony of Professor Charles Soludo, the Governor of Anambra State.

I mean, the unfortunate exchange of slaps, between Lady Bianca Ojukwu and the former First Lady of Anambra State, Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano.

I must say, this is very unfortunate, particularly as we are still celebrating the Dignity of Womanhood and Breaking the Bias Against Women, for a Sustainable Tomorrow.

It is further unfortunate, that not only the males, but also fellow women have made mockery of “Breaking the Bias”, “Womanhood” and have further casted aspersions on women as being ‘jet fighters’.

The magnitude of the aforementioned incident, does excuse this please.

The truth is that what occurred today, is disgraceful and there are lessons to the learnt by all of us from this :-

1. It was clearly an act of unwarranted aggression, for the Mrs Obiano, to menacingly approach Lady Bianca and verbally attack her in such a manner. Nobody has the right to treat another person in such a demeaning way, especially in public. Misdeeds can be reprimanded inside the house and grudges can be sorted out amicably.

2. Even if the former First Lady had done all she did, Lady Bianca should have behaved better, considering her pedigree and well admired profile.

She should have maintained her calmness and comported herself, considering what she represents in Nigeria and beyond, having been an Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, amongst other positions, including being the wife of Late Odumegwu Ojukwu,, a man who fought for the realization of self determination of people .

3. History will not exonerate both Ladies, as one person between them, if not both of them should have remembered who they are and what they represent.

4. This brings it to us. Never let a person, who has lost all self respect for him/ her, drag you into the mud, to be as dirty as him/ her is. Walk away, be called a coward, hold your head high. One day, history will vindicate you. Some people have lost their shame and they want others to lose theirs too.

5. Womanhood is dignifying. A few bad eggs cannot prove it that all women are nasty, brash, rash and sinking in the miry clay of moral ineptitude. Women must avoid creating scenario where others will say otherwise.

6. History never forgets. The internet remembers more. We have not just our names to protect but we have the names of our children, grandchildren, and generations yet unborn to protect. We must never forget this.

7. The world is a stage. What matters is how we are leaving the stage and where we are going thereafter. No position is permanent. Vanity upon vanity, is vanity.

Womanhood is dignifying and graceful.

Restructure Nigeria Before 2023 Elections, Catholic Archbishop Tells FG

The Archbishop of Owerri Catholic Archdiocese, AJV Obinna, on Thursday, called on the Federal Government to ensure that the country was restructured before the 2023 general elections.

The prelate who spoke to journalists in his office at the Archdiocesan Headquarters in Owerri in Imo state on the activities marking his retirement after 50 years of priesthood, said that inequality, violence, and hatred were affecting the growth of the country.

Responding to a question on whether a president of Igbo extraction was feasible in 2023, the archbishop said that restructuring the country where every tribe would compete and be treated equally was more important.

He said that he was happy that the pope had approved his retirement and appointed a new archbishop for the archdiocese after his nearly 30 years of service in the archdiocese.

Obinna disclosed that a new archbishop for the archdiocese, Lucius Ugorji would installed on June 23.
The said that he would spend the remaining part of his life to be writing, speaking for the downtrodden, and continuing his campaign for the total abolition of the Osu caste system in Igboland.

He also called on the peaceful resolution of the war going in Ukraine.
The Cleric said “Resisting Super-armed Russians with their inadequate capacity.

Nevertheless whether in Nigeria and Ukraine with sacro-ritual technology and low-rated technology or in Russia with the supersonic or nuclear armada, the telling effect is the same-more more brutality of humans, more and more bloodshed, more and more dislocation and destruction of homes, livelihoods, institutions, and structures.

More refugees, and further escalation of hatred, enmity, and anarchy. The war in Ukraine, a pandemic worse than covid-19, is in the air and affecting even Igbos and other citizens of the world.

“People are intensifying prayers to God between bombs and death. Let us all join in praying for Nigerians, Ukrainians, and Russians for an end to this annihilative brutality.

“Are we not all children of God, precious Sons, and Daughters in the one human family? Lord God, hearken to the tearful groaning of your children all over the world.”

An Upper Gwagwalada, Abuja, on Thursday, sentenced a 19-year-old student, Hillary Yunana to four months imprisonment for stealing spaghetti and indomie from a shop.

The convict, a resident of Bassa village, along airport road, Abuja, was charged with burglary and theft.
In his ruling, the Judge, Sani Umar, sentenced Yunana after he pleaded guilty to the offence and begged the court for leniency.

Umar, however, gave the convict an option to pay N10, 000 for each of the offences, or serve a jail-term of two months each for the offences.

He said that the sentence would run concurrently and warned him to desist from committing crime in the future.
The judge said the sentence would serve as deterrence to anyone who wants to tow that depraved path in the future.

Earlier, the prosecution counsel, Abudulahi Tanko, told the court the convict had broken and entered the shop of Gift Ugochukwu, of the same address on March 4.

Tanko said that the convict had stolen seven pieces of spaghetti, five pieces of indomie noodles and a cash sum of N10,000, all valued at N13,000, an offence that contravened the provisions of Sections 346 and 287 of the Penal Code.

Kidnappers Sleep Off, Nigerian Pastor Escapes After Seeing CAC Founder Apostle Ayo Babalola In A Vision’

Oke Ako, a community in the Ajoni Local Council Development Area of Ekiti State, erupted in joy on Tuesday as a cleric, Michael Adeyeye of Christ Apostolic Church in the community escaped unhurt from the four gunmen who abducted him on Saturday.

Residents of the community could not believe their ears when news filtered in on Tuesday morning that the cleric had escaped and was at Eruku in Kwara State awaiting a vehicle to convey him back to Oke Ako.

It was carnival-like as the cleric arrived the community in the afternoon to the waiting arms of youths and the elderly who sang and danced around the town.

Adeyeye, while recalling his experience, said he, alongside the four gunmen who initially demanded N50million ransom before reducing it to N15million, walked in the forest throughout Saturday night and Sunday.

He said, “We were in church for a vigil on Saturday. At about 10.20 pm, four armed men arrived the church, saying ‘where is a pastor?’ On locating me, they tied my hands and ordered me to follow them. We went into the bush.

“The following day, Sunday, they asked me to call my family to get N50million ransom across to them for me to regain my freedom. We were using my phone which they had already seized for the calls. Later, they reduced the ransom to N15million.

“Unfortunately for the gunmen, on Monday morning, at about 5 am, the God of covenant demonstrated his awesomeness. I saw the CAC Founder, Apostle Ayo Babalola, in a vision. That was what woke me up to discover that my abductors were fast asleep.

“So, I rose and stealthily moved away from the location into the bush. I kept walking in the bush until Tuesday morning when I got to Eruku, a town in Kwara State. On getting to the town, I called one of my brothers whose phone number I know offhand.”

Adeyeye said, “Their guns looked like AK-47, the guns appeared fabricated. I am happy about my escape. I am happy to be reunited with my people and church members. I can see love from the community.”

Missing Passenger In Lagos Motor Park, Family Petitions Police

The family of Suleiman Aremu Balogun, a passenger who boarded a bus at Alaba Rago Motor Park, Lagos, has petitioned the police against the motor park operators over the disappearance of their beloved.

On March 14, the family, through its lawyer, Mr Festus Ogun, petitioned the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, to investigate the circumstances surrounding the alleged death of Suleiman.

The petition, made available to The PUNCH was titled “Petition: Request for thorough investigation into the suspicious death/sudden disappearance of Mr Suleiman Aremu Balogun.”

Suleiman, a photographer, was said to have boarded a bus going to Kano at the park on Wednesday March 2, 2022, but never arrived at his destination.

When contacted by the family, the Chairman of the park, Alhaji Awalu, had told them that Suleiman was involved in a fatal auto-crash and was subsequently buried.

The petition read in part, “it is our clients’ brief that on Wednesday, the 2nd of March, 2022, Mr Suleiman Aremu Balogun, a professional photographer travelled from Lagos to cover a friend’s wedding ceremony in Kano, Kano State.

Mr Suleiman Aremu Balogun boarded a bus enroute Kano at Alaba Rago Motorpark in Lagos.
“Few days after embarking on the journey to Kano, he became completely unreachable and incommunicado as he never arrived at his destination and his whereabouts became unknown.

“Worried about this development, our clients reported to Police authorities and went to Alaba Rago Motorpark, where he was last seen, to make enquiries about his itinerary and suspicious disappearance.

“Shockingly, the Chairman of the Alaba Rago Motorpark simply identified as Alhaji Awalu informed our clients that the bus boarded by Mr Suleiman Aremu Balogun was involved in a fatal auto-crash around Koton Karfe area of Kogi State which led to his alleged untimely death.

“Upon further enquiry by our clients about the remains of Mr Suleiman Aremu Balogun, Alhaji Awalu declared that he was buried alongside others in what he described as a “mass burial.”

The family had expressed concerns on why the next-of-kin to Suleiman was not contacted before the said burial, despite filling a passenger form at the park.

As gathered from the petition, the family had a belief of foul play and implored the Commissioner of Police to investigate the matter to a logical conclusion.

Umahi: Afikpo APC Stakeholders Apologizes Says Idu Igariwey Derailed

I want to apologise to His Excellency and to all Nigerians, because our brother, Idu Igariwey, derailed. – Tony Ekoh, as Afikpo stakeholders speak out and hold solidarity rally for Umahi.

Thousands of All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders and supporters in Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State have held a solidarity rally in support of the State Governor, Engr David Nweze Umahi, over his sack by the Federal High Court in Abuja, lambasting the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for trying to replace him with a nominee.

Recall that Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court had on Tuesday sacked Umahi, his Deputy, Barrister Kelechi Igwe and 15 members of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly; following their defection from the PDP to the APC in November, 2020.

As a follow up, Igariwey addressed the media on Thursday, urging Umahi to vacate office for him to take over, using the same breath to detail what he described as Umahi’s atrocities against the people of Ebonyi State.

However, speaking on Saturday, during the solidarity rally that recorded a massive turnout of over one thousand participants from different parts of the LGA, the first female Executive Chairman of Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Barrister Obiageri Oko-Enyim, urged Umahi not to lose sleep over plans to remove him from office.

She said: “As the Executive Chairman of Afikpo North, I cannot mislead my people. If I mislead my people, they will remove me from office.

It is because I am speaking their mind, that is why they came out in mass to put a stop to the nonsense (of trying to remove Umahi from office).

They said they are tired of the nonsense. They don’t want to be part of it. They want His Excellency to know that they will follow him wherever he goes.

On his part, the Ebonyi State Commissioner for Business Development, Chief Oluchukwu Ukie Ezeali (Chief P Noble), tackled Igariwey and the PDP over the quest to replace Umahi, advising the lawmaker to resign his position as House of Representatives member if he is interested in becoming the governor of Ebonyi State, saying he cannot occupy two elective positions at the same time.

He said: “The entire world will bear witness that Afikpo North is APC. We are very much happy with our Governor. We are not expecting any governor on Facebook. We are not looking for any governor that will be in Abuja.

If you say you have been given ticket or nomination, resign the office you are presently occupying. You cannot occupy two elective positions at once.

You can’t be a House of Representatives member and then tell us you are also the governor. Do you become a governor from Abuja?

“There is only one way you can be the governor: If you pass the primaries and you call for our solidarity, we will support you; that is if you have been anointed or the people want you. You are our brother, but you cannot stay in Abuja and be causing confusion. Afikpo is a peaceful Local Government.

We are solidly in support of His Excellency Governor Dave Umahi. Come 2023, he will peacefully hand over to whoever God ordains to lead Ebonyi state. It is not the ‘governor by appointment’ that we want to carry us forward.”

Similarly, former two-term Chairman of Afikpo North LGA and APC stalwart, Pharm. Anthony Ekoh, Jnr., pleaded with Umahi to find a place in his kind heart to forgive Igariwey, saying he was misled by mischievous elements in the PDP and should be forgiven for the misdemeanor as a father would always forgive a repentant son.

Tony Ekoh, who contested against Igariwey as the APC candidate in the 2019 House of Representatives election, said that Igariwey, having been misled by outsiders, is presently regretting his actions and should, therefore, be forgiven for he knew not what he was doing by tackling Umahi.

He said: “On behalf of the entire people of Afikpo North, I want to apologise to His Excellency and to all Nigerians, because our brother, Idu Igariwey, derailed. He was misled by outsiders. I am sure he is full of regrets now. He completely derailed.

He belongs to PDP. We don’t play politics of bitterness in Afikpo North. So, we will forgive him when he comes back and he will surely come back to apologise.

“He is supposed to be a lawyer, who knows the rule and custom, but he was misled by the PDP to think he can take over from Governor Umahi.

Therefore, I want to beg Governor Umahi to forgive Idu Igariwey, because he doesn’t know what he is doing.

“It is clear to all Nigerians that what is happening in Ebonyi State is because of the 2023 general elections. Many of our people at the National Assembly got there through Governor Dave Umahi.

He worked so tirelessly for them. He battled to put them there. They know their offices are threatened because of the defection, so they are looking for ways to push him out.

However, rest assured that Governor Umahi will continue in office and complete his tenure before handing over in 2023. We are solidly behind His Excellency.”

Other speakers at the rally, including Member III of the Secondary Education Board (SEB) and former Ebonyi State Commissioner for Border Peace and Conflict Resolution, Chief Donatus Ezeogo Aja (Zentus), Coordinator of Amasiri Development Centre, Hon. Baron Ogbonnia, Chairman of Ebonyi State Universal Basic Education Board (EBSUBEB), Chief Hyacinth Ikpor, among others, condemned the ruling by Justice Inyang Ekwo, saying that the LGA is solidly behind Umahi in his present ordeal.

ABBA KYARI: Eight (8) Salient Questions

ONWUASOANYA FCC JONES

Following NDLEA’s press statement declaring Abba Kyari wanted for involvement in transnational illicit drug trafficking, the Police responded by informing Nigerians that the Borno born disgraced super cop has been arrested and handed over to the NDLEA, alongside four other accomplices who are all members of the dreaded IGP-IRT team.

The Police went ahead to inform us that there are NDLEA officials who were involved in shielding these drug peddlers from been apprehended. The Police statement was graphic and to me convincing.

Before this, the Police Service Commission had ordered the suspension of Abba Kyari and his investigation by a panel headed by the now deceased DIG Egbunike.

For about six months following Kyari’s suspension, nothing was heard of the investigation, and it appeared with the NDLEA twist to the matter, that the Super Cop was still carrying out operations on behalf of the IRT.

Now, those are the backgrounds to the following questions that have been bogging my mind over these weeks;

1. Why has the NDLEA not provided a CONVINCING rebuttal to the allegations by the Police over the involvement of their men in shielding drug traffickers, especially, this particular syndicate that was bursted by Abba Kyari’s team?

2. Assuming the NDLEA’s denial of that allegation is anything to go by, what explanation have they given as to why these drug peddlers had almost succeeded in escaping capture, even when there were officials of the NDLEA manning the airport and screening or supposedly screening both outward and inbound passengers? Has the NDLEA told us any reason or the technology adopted by this particular set of drug traffickers to evade suspicion?

3. Had the Abba Kyari failed to intercept these guys and their illicit consignment, would the NDLEA had been right in their constant claims about improved surveillance against drug traffickers?

4. Why is no official of the NDLEA answering questions over either complicity or negligence over this case?

Now, to Abba Kyari and the Nigerian Police Force management;

1. Why is it taking forever to come up with a report on the almost unending investigation on Abba Kyari?

2. Is Abba Kyari still receiving salaries from the Nigerian Police Force since this investigation started?

3. What happened to DIG Egbunike and what was his level of involvement in trying to shield or delay the investigation? How complicit was he in the atrocities of Abba Kyari and his IRT team?

4. If it wasn’t Abba Kyari, would any other police officer without as much contacts within the political and police hierarchy had survived up till this time without been extradited and dismissed from the Force?

The world is watching us and the handling of this matter will go a long way in deciding how seriously the purported fight on corruption and the acclaimed reforms within the Police Force, are.

“According to the mother, the 10-month-old baby is fond of the rider who is a relative, a neighbour and was crying uncontrollably when he (rider) wanted to go pick up something in the neighbourhood. To pacify the baby, his mother allowed him go with the rider.

“Passersby who saw the child with the rider along Sangotedo area, Ajah on the said day, became suspicious and concluded that the child might have been stolen, raised the alarm which attracted a mob.

The mob subsequently pounced on the rider, beating him without finding out the truth.

The Fall Of Osisi Ka Nkwu In Aba

The name Osisi ka Nkwu in Igbo translates as Wood/Tree that is greater than the Palm Tree. This guy was more or less a cousin to the Devil. His real name was Obioma Nwankwo, and he held Abia hostage for years, focusing his operations around Aba, while some of his boys held sway in parts of the capital Umuahia.

This guy permits who comes in and goes out of the city. He was so powerful that it is said banks used to send him N2m monthly as insurance from robbery (They deny this though).

He was a specialist kidnapper and bank robber. Osisi ka Nkwu learned weapon handling under Ateke Tom during the militant era in Port Harcourt. He later worked for a popular politician in Abia during the 2007 elections (name withheld), after the politician got tired of settling him, Osisi ka Nkwu took up arms to survive in the streets.

One of his famous hobbies involved taking young beautiful girls who caught his fancy hostage and keeping them for his pleasure in his camp. Other of his infamous hobbies included robbing banks and buses filled with travellers either entering or leaving Aba.

Who remembers the 2010 kidnap of school children in their school bus on the way to school? Osisi ka Nkwu led the criminal gang that accosted the bus on its way to the Abayi school Aba that Monday morning. He seized all the phones belonging to the teachers and driver onboard before taking the children away. Their ransom was $130,000 (N46.8m in today’s currency). The money was paid and Osisi ka Nkwu got more powerful. Traders got scared of going to the Ariaria market while parents got scared of sending their kids to school.

Social life in Aba was at an all time low due to one man and his gang. Those abducted kids were from Rich homes actually and the action angered President Goodluck Jonathan who ordered his arrest at all costs. From that moment, all his calls were monitored painstakingly in an attempt to pinpoint his exact location. It was almost impossible to do that though but luck smiled on the security agencies when one of his numerous kidnapped girls managed to escape, and carried one of his weapons along. This lady reported to the Joint Task Force, and he was tracked to his hideout in the Obokwe Asa evil Forest in Ukwa West LGA. The soldiers hid in the forest for 3 days, observing and waiting for him.

Their original plan was to catch him alive, but he sensed danger after walking into their ambush and reached for his gun. This resulted in a gun battle that lasted for hours. It proved to be one too many for the robber as he was gunned down alongside 2 of his accomplices; Polycarp who died instantly and Chinedu who died much later at the Military Hospital Port Harcourt.

His girlfriend who usually cooks for the kidnapped ladies was arrested and she led the Army to their prison where 6 of them were freed. A cache was discovered and the weapons there were 6 AK-47 rifles, one RPG (Rocket Propelled Grenade) launcher, one Machine Gun, one GPMG (General Purpose Machine Gun) 11 RPG bombs, 133 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and 99 pieces of empty AK-47 magazines.

His corpse was paraded before Governor T.A Orji of Abia State.

I Didn’t Exonerate Abba Kyari, I Only Demand Further Probe – Malami

The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, on Sunday, faulted reports that he had conclusively exonerated the suspended Deputy

Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari who is facing trial before Justice Inyang Ekwo of a Federal High Court in Abuja on charges of illegal drug business.

Malami said this in a statement issued by his Special Assistant (Media and Public Relations), Dr. Umar Gwandu in Abuja.
According to him, there appeared to be a “misunderstanding regarding the issue.”

He said, “It was a case of work in progress in respect of which the office of the Attorney General of the Federation requested for further probe in relation to some aspects of investigation.

“It was clear that the conclusion on the alleged contradiction on the issue was a clear case of misconception.
“The office of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice’s stance is that no conclusion has been reached in the direction of absence of evidence relating to the first report.

“The issues were raised for further investigation with a view to cover the field in investigation in order to arrive at an informed decision.”

JUST IN: Orji Kalu Opens Up On ‘Conspiracy’ Against Buni, Plot To Scuttle APC Convention

Former Abia state governor and Senate Chief Whip, Orji Uzor Kalu has reacted to reports that he is part of a conspiracy against the chairman of the Extraordinary caretaker committee of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

In a statement on Saturday, Kalu denied being against Buni or being part of any plot to scuttle the national convention of the ruling party.

The statement read; “I have read the unfortunate accusations leveled against me by a former Director-General of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), Dr. Salihu Lukman.”

“In a statement credited to Lukman , he alleged that some party leaders are working with the Chairman of the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), Mai Mala Buni to undermine the March 26 national convention of the party.”

“He specifically said; “there are other party leaders, including Sen Uzor Kalu who have actively supported His Excellency Mai Mala to undermine the decision to organise the National Convention of the party.” It is on this note that I consider it necessary to correct the wrong impressions Lukman must be making efforts to create.”

“There has been no time I participated in any collaboration or collusion to ensure that attempts to organise the APC National Convention are blocked. It will be recalled that on the December 15, 2021 , I made an appeal to the party and the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee members to consider postponing the national convention earlier slated for February.”

“I had warned that holding the convention in February without sorting out the minor disagreements that arose during the Congress would lead to implosion.”

“I was worried that , the creation of factions which

denied the party victory in so many states in the past elections may repeat itself. I therefore called for a peaceful resolution of the crisis before holding the Convention. No peaceful and tactful leader, would support a terrible scenario to reoccur.”“It is important to note that I have always stood for and supported the party and Gov Mai Mala Buni only happened to be the Chairman of the party. Aside serving as the Chairman of the party , Buni is my old family friend and I cannot deny him because he is facing challenges today. We have been friends and family for the past 25 years.”

“It is imperative to state that Buni has done very well for the party . His sterling leadership quality is what helped stabilise our great party across the six geopolitical zones, with high profile defections in our favour .
In this time of challenge and misunderstandings, I am calling on the party leaders and stakeholders to guard their utterances to avoid creating more disharmony.”

“Even in a nuclear family, disagreements and quarrels exist. The APC is a very big party with several caucuses . We have the Governors, National Assembly, Businessmen , Youths and Women among other caucuses. The directions and concerns of these caucuses should be taken into consideration at all times.”

“Going forward, Whether it is Gov Mai Mala Buni or Gov Abubakar Sani Bello , I would always give the party my maximum support and drive for stronger growth.

There is always a danger with single story and I encourage Mr President to hear the two sides of the story so that the party can win together.”

I Did Not Endorse Igbo Presidency In 2023” – Obasanjo Fires Ohuabunwa

Ex-president, Olusegun Obasanjo has denied backing an igbo presidency in 2023.

According to Politics Nigeria on Saturday refuted reports that he supported the clamour for Igbo presidency.

It can be recalled that the former leader while receiving a 2023 presidential aspirant, Mao Ohuabunwa, last week, reportedly stated that he would like to see a South-Easterner become President as they have a lot to contribute to the country.

However, in a swift response through his Media Aide, Kehinde Akinyemi, OBJ denied ever making such a comment.

He criticised Ohuabunwa and accused him of being behind the report. “If that was the way the presidential aspirant wanted to approach his ambition; such was a wrong way.”

“He came here and the former President received him as a gentleman and in the spirit of his 85th birthday celebrations only for him to go and put words into his mouth. Baba is not that sort of man and if that is the way he wants to fulfil his ambition that is a wrong way.”

Barely 11 months to the 2023 general elections, there is a central thread of discourse in the nation on the possibility of a president of Igbo extraction. Proponents of the quest for a Nigerian leader from the Igbo dominated South east axis premise it on six standpoints: Tripod nature of the nation, equity, justice, unity, peace and fair play.

Some of the contenders for the presidency from the South-East are Anyim Pius Anyim and Dave Umahi (Ebonyi State), Kingsley Moghalu (Anambra State), Orji Uzor Kalu and Sam Ohuabunwa (Abia State), Rochas Okorocha (Imo State), Chris Baywood of Baywood Foundation (Enugu) and others expected to make their intention known in the coming days.

While Kalu, Umahi and Okorocha are members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), the likes of Anyim and Ohuabunwa are in the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

CHINEDU NWADIKE: Social Media Has Both Beautiful And The Ugly

-Sam Onwuemodo

Undoubtedly, Social media had come with both the beautiful and the ugly. The good and the bad. And we thank God for everything.

Chinedu Nwadike is a young Nigerian of lgbo extraction. lnfact, an exemplary son of lmo state.

A front-seat actor and musician. A celebrity. He sings to praise God. An outstanding artist.

Few days ago, we woke up to see his photographs on a hospital bed, almost naked, with medical tools or needles fixed to some parts of his body .

With the photographs in circulation , he was unconscious and obviously, at the emergency ward of the hospital in question.

I wasn’t comfortable with the photographs. And l ask , was it proper for the hospital to have released the photographs of their patient in such condition or situation, totally naked except his private part that was coverd with something that looks like a “hand-towel”? .

Obviously , Nwadike would not have authorized the release of his photographs in that condition.

And l ask, was it right for the hospital or its personnel to have released Nwadike’s photographs in that condition without his consent?

Even if any member of the family was present, was it proper for the hospital to have allowed that family member to take the photographs of their patient in such condition for any reason? .

Some of us would like to know. Would like to be educated on this.

Was the hospital right, legally and/or professionally or morally to do that?

Again, few minutes after the photographs had hit social media platforms, individuals began to ask or solicit for financial assistance for the man.

l also ask again, was it proper for such people to begin to ask for financial help for the man without his consent or approval?. Or, that of the wife or any of his relatives? .

Both morally and legally , was that proper?.

Nwadike, aside being a star in the entertainment industry, has notable friends across the nation. He also belongs to notable groups, especially professional groups.

He is also a dependable and resourceful member of a known formidable political family.

I know that some of these groups or persons would have come to the Rescue, if the need arises or without people calling for financial assistance .

But the hasty request for financial assistance from people not in anyway, related to the man and without any proof that the man himself had given them approval for such request , made the whole thing appear somewhat un-serious or childish .

And such indiscriminate calls for assistance would have also made it to look as if, anybody doing something , must be doing so in response to the haphazard calls for assistance.

l ask , was it ideal or proper for people not related to Nwadike in any way to have asked for people’s financial assistance without his approval or that of his wife or any member of the family?

Some of these questions have become necessary because of the swift manner, with which people solicit for financial assistance for others on social media without the person’s consent or that of any member of the person’s family .

At times , some of those doing this , would also give account number(s) into which, those willing, would pay in.

I only leveraged on Nwadike’s case to make my point.

GOD has already given him divine healing.

By the STRIPES on the Body of Jesus , he is healed of every infirmity, including kidney failure.

GOD who healed Naaman of leprosy and raised Lazarus from the dead, is still on the THRONE. The same, yesterday, today and forever.

Jesus says , whatever we ask in his name , he would do it. We have asked in his name , that Chinedu Nwadike would be divinely healed of his sickness, Amen.

And for all and sundry, no plague shall near our dwelling places, Amen.

SHOCKING: Man Had Sex With A Married Woman And Posted Nude Pictures On Social Media.

Police operatives from the Ikotun Division of the Lagos State Command led by the

Divisional Police Officer, CSP Johnson Adagba, have arrested a 28-year old man, identified as Joshua Samuel, for allegedly engaging a married woman in sex, secretly recording the actions and then posting same on the social media.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Prophet Amoo Street, Abaranje area of Ikotun, Lagos where Samuel resides and works as post master.

Trouble was said to have started after the husband of the victim, who is mother of two kids, travelled abroad and left the woman and two children in their rented apartment. However, the rent expired and the woman was unable to pay. The owner of the house sent her away and threw her property outside rendering her homeless.

It was then that Samuel met her, offered to assist and asked her to move into his apartment pending when she will get money to rent another apartment.

According to the residents, immediately the woman moved into Samuel’s apartment, he started sleeping with her. And since she had no place to go with her children, as the husband was yet to send money for another accommodation, she allowed Samuel to continue to have his way with her.

Unknown to her, while Samuel was sleeping with her, he was secretly recording the sex actions, which he stored on his mobile phone and laptop. When the victim eventually secured another accommodation and moved out from Samuel’s apartment, she decided to leave Samuel and moved on with her life. That did not go down well with Samuel, who threatened to expose her unclothedness if she will not continue to satisfy his sexual desires. When the victim resisted the threat, Samuel then uploaded some of their edited sex actions showing the woman’s unclothedness alone to the public.

The victim later got to know when one of her relations, who saw the nude photographs, called and forwarded them to her and she broke down in tears. And since then, she has been in shock over Samuel’s dastardly act.
She later summoned courage and reported the matter to the Police. The Police operatives went into action; trailed Samuel, eventually arrested and detained him for interrogation.

P.M.EXPRESS scooped that the suspect, Samuel, has already confessed to have shared the photographs on some social media handles and claimed he was only using it as a joke.

When our correspondent visited Ikotun Police Division, where Samuel was detained, in order to speak with the DPO, he was told that he went out on routine monitoring in the area.

However, Police sources said that the suspects will be charged before the Court after the conclusion of investigations as the Police have already recovered his laptop and mobile phone as exhibits for his prosecution.

Hard Times For Chinmark Group And Her Investors

As over 10,000 investors in the Chinmark Group stand losing Billions in investment, some of the investors have called for the arrest of Marksman Ijomah, Amanda Chisom and other principal officers of the doomed investment firm.

The calls for their arrest followed the inability of the firm to pay a return on investment popularly called ROP to their multitude of investors since December 2021.

While Ijomah is the founder of the company, Amanda Chisom is the brand ambassador who lured thousands of investors into the scheme.

Financial experts say investors stand to lose more than N10 billion in the scheme, describing it as a ponzi.

Ijomah is also said to have restructured ownership of physical assets belonging to the firm, removing his name and that of his wife as directors.

For instance, a CAC search on Chinmark’s group companies showed that Mr Marksman Ijiomah had changed the name of the hotel at Enugu from Chinmark Suites to Bridge Suites.

He removed his name and his wife’s names as the Directors of the hotel and used different sets of people.

A lawyer, Collins Ogonnaya Arikor said that due to the restructuring, investors can’t attach the hotel to recover their investment if they don’t get paid since the existing fact presupposes that Marksman Ijiomah doesn’t own the hotel.

“So while people are busy thinking there is an asset on ground – the hotel, there’s basically nothing.

“The other companies – i.e. the mall, logistics, food, real estate etc – are merely existing on paper. What we call “shell companies” in law. There are no verifiable businesses that can be linked to the companies. There are no assets linked to the companies.

On FinAfrica, the company peddled as the investment arm of their group, the lawyer explained that the object of the company, as registered by the CAC, is “general merchandise”.

“There is absolutely nothing remotely like investment in the business of FinAfrica. In any event, the company’s accounts are allegedly frozen by the law enforcement agencies, so how and where will the money to repay investors come from?

“Well, I shouldn’t be surprised, but I am. Honestly. If this isn’t a premeditated, calculated plan to defraud people of their hard-earned monies then I don’t know what else to call it”.

Another lawyer, Azubike Ihemeje described Chinmark businesses as a ponzi.

According to him, Chinmark Ponzi scammer may have defrauded close to 10 Billion Naira he swindled from the public.

On 25 December 2021, the Security and Exchange Commission, SEC, warned Nigerians against investing in FinAfrica.

The government regulatory agency in a statement said “The attention of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Nigeria (“SEC”) has been drawn to the activities of an Illegal Operator (FINAFRICA INVESTMENT LIMITED).

“The Company claimed to be an Investment Company that engages in Business Development in Commercial sectors of the economy and uses the funds in entities under Chinmark Group.

“The Commission hereby notifies the investing public that neither FINAFRICA INVESTMENT LIMITED nor Chimark Group is registered by the SEC and the Investment Scheme promoted by these entities are also not authorized by the SEC.

“In view of the above, the general public is hereby WARNED that any person dealing with the within named Company in any capital market-related business is doing so at his/her own risk”.

Wali One Of The Most Deadliest Sniper Arrives Ukraine

One of the world’s most fearsome snipers is set to join the fighting in Ukraine after answering President Volodymyr Zelensky’s call for foreign volunteers to help defeat Russian invaders.

The marksman, known only by the nickname given to him in Afghanistan, ‘Wali’, has previous combat experience from fighting in the Kandahar theatre during the Afghanistan War between 2009 and 2011.

The 40-year-old, who later took it upon himself to travel to Iraq in 2015 to help fight the Islamic State’s forces, said he answered the call like a firefighter responding to a blaze would do.

Reports suggest Wali was the member of the Royal Canadian 22nd who fatally shoot an Islamic State terrorist in 2017 from more than two miles away – a ‘world-record’ for the longest ever kill shot.

Wali said he was contacted by a friend on Friday who had been organising “neutral convoys” of humanitarian aid for several months to bring food to the occupied Donbas region.

Wali, who fought alongside the Kurds against ISIS in Syria, told French-Canadian publication La Presse: “He told me they needed a sniper. It’s like a firefighter who hears the alarm ringing. I had to go.”

He leaves behind his wife and baby son, who will celebrate his first birthday without him next week.

“I know, it’s just awful,” he said. “But me, in my head, when I see the images of destruction in Ukraine, it is my son that I see, in danger and who is suffering.

“When I see a destroyed building, it is the person who owns it, who sees his pension fund go up in smoke, that I see.

“I go there for humanitarian reasons,” he added.

His wife said she reluctantly allowed him to go.

“I knew that if I didn’t let him go, I would have broken him,” she said. “It would have been like putting him in jail.”

Wali, a computer programmer until last week, added: “A week ago I was still programming stuff,” he said. “Now I’m grabbing anti-tank missiles in a warehouse to kill real people… That’s my reality now.”

IGP Bans Use Of Unapproved Uniforms On Routine Operations

IGP Provost, IGP Monitoring Unit to Ensure Strict Enforcement

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, psc (+), NPM, fdc, has expressed dismay at the flagrant violation of the approved Nigeria Police Force dress code by officers on patrol and guard, stop and search, and other routine police operations; who have formed the habit of wearing t-shirts and face caps with “Special Forces”, “Commando”, “Gallant MOPOL”, “SCORPION”, and other inscriptions while on duty. Premised on this, the IGP has ordered an immediate ban on such unapproved apparels.

The IGP has described as unacceptable, the use of unapproved apparels noting that uniforms, which is a means of identification, has been abused by these officers who engage in improper dressing.

He equally decries the fear this unwholesome practice creates in the minds of innocent Nigerians. The IGP therefore ordered that henceforth, all police officers detailed for patrol, stop and search, check point, and other routine operational duties must be in approved uniforms for easy identification.

Consequently, the IGP has ordered that all Police disciplinary units particularly the Force Provost Marshal, the IGP X-Squad and Monitoring Unit to ensure the strict enforcement of the directive with severe sanctions for erring officers. The IGP has equally warned that all supervisory officers would be held vicariously liable in the event that personnel under their command violate this order.

The Inspector-General of Police through a press release signed by CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi the acting force Public Relation Officer of Force Headquarters reassured members of the public that the Force leadership is committed to promoting strategic police reforms geared at sanitizing operational engagements, and bequeathing to the nation a professional policing system as required.

Anglican Priest Sacked For Lavishing Church’s Funds On Women, Voodooism

Bishop on the Niger, Anglican Diocese, Rt Rev Owen Nwokolo, has sacked a priest of the diocese, Rev Canon Sylvester LumenKristi Eboh, over acts of insubordination.

Eboh had earlier this week cried out over threat to his life, alleging that some forces in the church were after his life and had also taken his wife away from him.

The cleric also said he had resigned as a priest in the diocese, and would henceforth concentrate on running his private ministry, God in Action Adoration Ministry, Ogidi.

But the Bishop on the Niger, Rt Rev Nwokolo, who briefed journalists in Awka on Thursday, through the Deputy-Chancellor Diocese on the Niger, Barr Ben Uzuegbu (SAN), said the priest never resigned, but has been sacked.

Uzuegbu said: “There have been a series of complaints against the priest for a very long time and all attempts by the Bishop to bring him to answer to the allegations against him have been ignored.

“This is a priest who went out of the church’s way to register a separate religious group, without the knowledge of the church.

“The Bishop is the father of all priests in the diocese, and despite all the complaints against this priest, attempts to bring him before the Bishop have been rebuffed.

“We should not have come to the media with this, but since he has already brought the matter before the media, we feel we should call you all to tell you the true story.

“Sylvester LumenKristi Eboh has been using his religious group to make a lot of money from unsuspecting members of the church, which he in turn lavishes on women and a lifestyle of pleasure.

“There is still a complaint against him by a lawyer in Awka here that he made love severally to a certain member of the church and put her in the family way.

“His wife (priest’s) is presently not living with him because of that lifestyle. The wife complained severally to the church that her husband brought in a strange woman as his secretary, who he later started sleeping with. He is known to have severally beaten up his wife in front of this strange woman. When she couldn’t bear it any longer, she had to leave him.”

Uzuegbu said Eboh’s license has been withdrawn, and he ceases to be a priest of the church, while also warning members of the church to beware of him, accusing him of being deep into voodooism.

Football: Neymar Returns For Brazil World Cup Qualifiers

Neymar will rejoin Brazil for its final two World Cup qualifiers, after missing the national team’s first two matches of the year due to injury, coach Tite said Friday, announcing his squad.

The Paris Saint-Germain star, back from an ankle injury, will be looking to exorcise PSG’s humiliating Champions League exit Wednesday at Real Madrid as he returns to the Selecao.

The five-time world champions, who qualified for Qatar back in November, play Chile in Rio de Janeiro’s Maracana stadium on March 24 and Bolivia on March 29 in La Paz.

Tite, who recently announced he plans to leave the post after the World Cup, said Neymar had “played well in the first half” against Real Madrid, before “collapsing, like the entire team.”

“He’s got extraordinary quality, but he’s coming off a natural process for anyone who gets injured. He’s in the process of searching to get his top form back,” he said.

Neymar will be joined by forward Vinicius Junior of none other than Real Madrid.

New names on Tite’s list include Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli and Juventus midfielder Arthur, back on the team after a year-long absence.
Everton striker Richarlison also rejoins the squad.

Left out were forwards Gabriel Jesus of Manchester City and Gabigol of Flamengo.
Brazil lead South American qualifying with 39 points, to 35 for second-place Argentina.

The two sides still have to play a yet-to-be-scheduled rematch, to make up for a sixth-round tie controversially called off by Brazilian health authorities over supposed Argentine violations of Covid-19 protocols.

Brazil squad for March World Cup qualifiers:
Goalkeepers: Alisson (Liverpool/ENG), Ederson (Manchester City/ENG), Weverton (Palmeiras)

Defenders: Dani Alves (Sao Paulo), Danilo (Juventus/ITA), Alex Telles (Manchester United/ENG), Guilherme Arana (Atletico Mineiro), Eder Militao (Real Madrid/ESP), Gabriel Magalhaes (Arsenal/ENG), Marquinhos (Paris Saint-Germain/FRA), Thiago Silva (Chelsea/ENG)

Midfielders: Casemiro (Real Madrid/ESP), Bruno Guimaraes (Newcastle/ENG), Arthur (Juventus/ITA), Fabinho (Liverpool/ENG), Fred (Manchester United/ENG), Lucas Paqueta (Lyon/FRA), Philippe Coutinho (Aston Villa/ENG)

Nollywood actress, Anita Joseph-Olagunju has noted that posting pictures of one’s partner online can’t lead to a break in the relationship.

In her post, Anita noted that any relationship that was meant to be broken would break, whether it was shared on social media or not.

“Posting your partner on social media can not and will not break your marriage or relationship. What will break will break and what will spoil, will spoil ….Whether you show it off on SM or not.”

You’re praying and waiting for my marriage to break yet your Life is a messless mess,” she said.

Anita added that God would shock all those waiting for her marriage to crash.
This was not the first time that the actress had addressed those who wanted her marriage to fail.

He spoke during a sermon to his church members at a recent religious event in Nairobi, Kenya.

“I was a preacher; I was saved for years. But it got to a stage I locked the door, I said I must encounter God. I started fasting, no food, no water, for 11 days. On the 12th day, I saw Jesus walk into the room. He smiled and begin to talk to me,” Suleman said.

NCC Arrests Three, Confiscates Equipment Over Copyright Violation In Enugu

The Enugu State Directorate office of the Nigeria Copyright Commission, on Thursday, shutdown Real Summit Television Network for allegedly rebroadcasting copyright-protected content to Nsukka residents and its environs.

The Commission also arrested three staff of the network and confiscated thousands of equipments including over 70 different decoders of various cable networks and computers.

Conducting journalists around the station at the University Town of Nsukka in Nsukka Local Government of Enugu State, during a broadcast anti-piracy operation, Assistant Director Operation, Mr Okwudili Macfoy, said the station was not licensed by the Nigeria Communication Commission.

According to him, the network was illegally rebroadcasting copyright-protected contents of other cable networks to its customers.

Okwudili gave the three names of the arrested suspects as Ene Ikechukwu, Ezegwu Collins and Edochi Chibuike.
Speaking to our correspondent shortly after the operation, the State Director of the Commission, Mrs Okeke Ngozi, warned those in the habit of pirating copyright-protected products to desist before the long arm of the law caught up with them.

It is a campaign also we have been carrying against destroying the economy of the country.
“You have seen what happened at Nsukka, when they do all these things we tell them it is better you channel your resources and investment in the right place because no matter how long it takes the long arm of the law will surely catch up with them.

“You know in their mind they will be thinking that they are having a field day, they will be smiling at the bank at the detriment of others. We as a Commission we are not in hurry but no matter how long it takes we will surely get at them and we will charge them and that is exactly what you have seen that happened today,” she said.
