Businessman Allegedly Killed by Apprentice.A shocking tragedy has struck the family of the late Mr. Iyke, a successful businessman at Ogbo Ogwu, Bridge-Head Market, Onitsha.According to reports, Iyke had brought in his 18-year-old cousin, Chiemerie, to join his business as an apprentice.Beyond offering him vocational training, Iyke reportedly provided accommodation, food, clothing, and covered his expenses, with the intention of helping him build a stable future.Sources say that at some point, Iyke became concerned about Chiemerie’s troubling behavior and decided to send him back to his parents.However, the young man’s parents allegedly pleaded with Iyke to reconsider and allow him to continue the apprenticeship. Out of compassion, Iyke reportedly agreed to take him back.Tragically, events later took a devastating turn. It is alleged that Chiemerie locked Iyke’s wife and children inside a room before confronting Iyke upon his return home. During the altercation, Iyke sustained severe injuries. His sister, who was present in the house and rushed out after hearing the commotion, was also reportedly attacked and left critically injured.Iyke sadly lost his life as a result of the incident, while his sister is currently receiving medical attention.The suspect has since been arrested and is being held at Fegge Police Station as investigations continue.The incident has left family members, friends, and members of the business community in deep shock. Many have expressed grief over the tragic loss and extended prayers and condolences to Iyke’s family during this painful time.
