John Eneche Is Not A Villain!, Only Spoke As Nigerian Army He Represent

Yes, our campaign has, in deference to popular demand and public outcry deemed it fit to remove General John Enenche from the ObiDatti Campaign Council, but this is not in any way conceding to the mischievous attempt by operatives of the Siamese twins of Nigeria’s underdevelopment – the PDP and APC – that General Enenche was at any time, a villain. Not at all. General Enenche remains a hero of the Nigerian liberation march, even if it is for the mere fact that he identifies with the only political movement that guarantees Nigeria’s survival.

The statement for which General Enenche’s head is being demanded on a platter by the agents and slaves of the same oppressors who orchestrated the tragic massacre and the were actually the instigators of the mindless abuses and endemic corruption that has eaten up the very fabrics of our national life, wouldn’t have been made, if we didn’t have APC and PDP administrations, at different times, persecuting and suppressing Nigerian youths.

General Enenche at the time he made that unfortunate statement, spoke not as John Enenche, the Nigerian citizen, but as General John Enenche, who is bound by his military oath of loyalty, secrecy and allegiance. As the Spokesperson of the military, he was merely communicating the position of the Nigerian military on the issue and not what might be his personal opinions or feelings on that unfortunate incident made possible by the collective irresponsibility of the PDP and APC led mal-administrations in the last two decades.

Unfortunately, the individuals who are at the forefront of the cancel campaign against General Enenche are the same people who are aiding and sustaining the same group of coup plotters, public thieves and mortgagers of our commonwealth and habitual abusers of public institutions and notorious saboteurs of our national interest.

General Enenche served this nation’s military and he served her well. Unlike the Buharis of the same military, he was never involved in any act of treason by way of planning or executing coups or supporting or sympathizing with terrorist groups or dissidents. He should be judged based on his work as a military man, within the confines of the rules of engagement guiding military work, and not what he would have done as a civilian or any normal citizen. I am sure, that if John Enenche wasn’t in the military at the time of the EndSars protest, he might have been at the forefront of that protest.
