In the heat of the fast approaching 2023 Presidential election as well as other elective positions in the country, the Chairman, Diaspora Affairs of Labour Party, Hon. Amadichi Chike Divine has reiterated his full involvement in the electioneering process to ensure that the people’s choice for the number one and two citizens of Nigeria in the Persons of Mr Peter Obi and Sen. Ahmed Datti as well as the Labour party’s intending victory comes to reality.
Hon. Amadichi stressed this recently in an exclusive interview with the New Telegraph Newspaper in his Abuja Office on Monday.In swift response to questions bordering on issues surrounding the Diaspora campaign finding of Mr Peter Obi to ascertain its legality or breach of law, Hon. Amadichi said there is no breach of law whatsoever rather the opposition are only jittery of the havoc Mr Obi and the Labour Party will cause them in the elections next year having been accepted both home and abroad despite statements that Mr. Obi and the party has no structure.Hon. Amadichi noted that if there’s any breach of law, the candidate would not have involved himself knowing fully what is legal and illegal to do and would have been advised rightly, while recalling that President Buhari enjoyed same Diaspora funding in 2015 when Nigerians abroad believed in him and the so-called Change Mantra and till date no one called for his head on that matter.The Diaspora Committee Chairman said the electoral law is very clear on the funding which only exempted the parties being funded abroad and not the candidates and as such, Peter Obi is free from the accusations especially where he never asked for the funding but getting it as support from Nigerians who believe in him for a New Nigeria.He said, “It’s all about the noise on Diaspora Fund raising for Peter Obi and Labour Party””Since the inauguration of my Committee to handle the Diaspora Affairs of Labour Party, the opposition parties in Nigeria are restless and so afraid as Peter Obi/Labour Party is not only accepted in Nigeria but hugely accepted by Nigerians in Diaspora”Amadichi added that a new Nigeria is coming and will only be birth at this point in time by Mr Obi, Sen.
