Italian giants FC Internazionale Milano have joined the race to sign Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu in the coming transfer window.
Onuachu had signed a contract extension with his Belgian club, KRC Genk, but he has caught the attention of topflight clubs around Europe, including Spanish champions, Atletico Madrid.
Inter Milan have set their sights on the towering striker to bolster their attacking options after Romelu Lukaku’s departure to Chelsea, Football Italia reports.
During the summer transfer window, the 27-year-old was on the verge of joining Premier League side, West Ham, managed by former Manchester United coach David Moyes, but the deal fell through due to a difference in opinion over the player’s valuation.
Before joining Genk in 2019, Onuachu made 181 appearances for FC Midtjylland finding the back of the net 74 times in all competitions.
