The recent appointment of Distinguished Senator Araraume as the Chairman of the Board of NNPC Ltd by President Buhari is a very welcome development!
Every sensible, politically aware, progressive minded, reasonable and responsible Imolite should be happy that for once, one of our own has been put in charge of a key and strategic portfolio in the oil and gas sector.
Imo State is one of the major oil producing States in Nigeria, yet Imo State has been receiving the short end of the stick in the oil and gas sector.
No doubt that the jinx has been broken with Senator Araraume’s appointment.
President Buhari certainly got this one right ✅ for the people of Okigwe Zone, Imo State and Ndigbo in general even as we are optimistic that Distinguished Senator Araraume will not disappoint the nation as
he is more than eminently qualified to provide commanding leadership as the Chairman of the Board of NNPC Ltd.
While the euphoria of the appointment is still high, as expected, a few toxic politicians have come up with mischievous commentaries and negative analogies in an unsuccessful bid to diminish the enormity of the appointment.
These political necromancers and sorcerers have started reading 2023 politics into the appointment by making ill-processed and illogical conjectures on how it will affect or not affect the second term chances of the incumbent Governor Uzodinma of Imo State in 2023.
That is bitter politics taken too far by *”ndi ori na crisis” and ndi ufu obi.*
It is public knowledge that Governor Uzodinma has not declared interest in 2023 re-election just as Senator Araraume has also not declared interest in 2023 gubernatorial bid.
So where are these handful of mischievious political stargazers getting their facts from other than giving vent to their cruel interest of setting the Governor on a collision course with Senator Araraume in the discharge of the responsibilities of his new office?
Who falls for such very cheap propaganda and moronic stunt?
2023 politics never reach joor!
No need hitting up the polity because of baloney and hogwash spewed by idle characters who will go out of business if peace reigns.
What is beyond dispute is that with Senator Araraume’s appointment, Okigwe Zone, Imo State and Alaigbo are all winners because a person from any other State or any other ethnic group in Nigeria could have been appointed into that position but their own was considered and found worthy.
I therefore trust that all stakeholders within and outside Imo State and Igboland will assist Senator Araraume to succeed in his new assignment and bring the dividends of the plum appointment home.
Okigwe Zone, Imo State and Alaigbo need every major political appointments and elective positions they can get in order to reduce their marginalisation.
Even as I am not done thanking President Buhari for the appointment of SenatorAraraume, it will not be out of place to draw attention of all concerned to the fact that more than one year after Barr Emma Nwosu (a former elected Vice Chairman of Isiala Mbano LGA of Imo State and Legal Practitioner of many years standing among other things), was nominated as a Federal Commissioner designate into the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission.
(RMAFC), his confirmation is still pending in the Senate as it was adjourned _sine die._
This Learned Gentleman does not have any legal impediment but destructive politics from home has made it impossible for him to be cleared by the Senate long after his other colleagues that were nominated the same day into the Commission have been cleared by the Senate and subsequently sworn into office.
Sadly, Imo State is today the only State that is not represented in the very important Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission and the loss cannot be quantified.
This is to respectfully appeal to the Senate leadership and those behind this imbroglio to have a rethink and do the needful.
Politics must continue to be without bitterness. All men are brothers. All women are sisters. Humanity is one!
Ahead 2023 and beyond, top Igbo politicians and leaders must learn to embrace peace, forgive one another and put their trusts in GOD for power can only come from GOD.
Imo State and South East politicians and leaders have destroyed themselves enough.
Political infighting, *”nshiko mentality”* or *”onye kwuru oto egbutuoya syndrome”* are most unhelpful and counterproductive.
*Ako bu ije.* Sense is movement!
Sadly, the younger ones fan the embers of disunity among the big players via hack writing on social media platforms without realising that when two elephants fight, it is the grass that suffers.
*Biri kam biri awughi ujo. Egbe bere ugo bere kanma. Onye emegbula nwanneya.*
Live and let live is the best policy and it is not cowardice.
Once more, this is wishing Senator Araraume success in his new assignment.
