Imo Police Command Arrested Armed Robbery Suspects And Some Cultist Terrorizing Nekede And Ihiagwa Axis

Police in Imo State has shown their readiness to flush out criminals in the state from their hideouts as they have disbanded and arrested another dangerous gang of Robbers and Cultists terrorizing the people of Nekede/Ihiagwa Axis.

This was made known during the weekly press briefing by Imo State Police Command made on the 2nd of March 2021 at Command Head Quaters where the suspects were paraded by the Commissioner of Police Nasiru Mohammed represented by the PPRO Orlando Ikeokwu.

The suspects 18years Justice Anukam, Emezi Chidiebube 28years, Sandy Chisom 24years and Onwusiribe Chidiuto 24years old all male.

Sequel to multiple cases of armed robbery and cultism activities around Nekede/Ihiagwa Communities and environs, the Commissioner of Police CP Nasiru Mohmammed ordered a coordinated operation in the area. Pursuant to that on 23rd Febuary, 2021, operatives of the Divisional Police Headquarters Nekede/Ihiagwa after a sting operation in the area, arrested suspects. They were identified to have robbed worshippers at St. Paul’s Catholic Church Nekede of their valuables on gun point and their victims includes: 1. REV. FR. WENCE ISIDIEM in-charge of St. Paul’s Catholic Church Nekede
At the point of arrest, the following items were recovered from them:
1. One locally made PISTOL
2. One cut to Size Single Barrel Gun
3. One Toy Rifle
4. One Toy Pistol

They confessed to be responsible for the upsurge in criminal activities in the area. Investigation is ongoing.
