Sequel to the murder of Obioma Iheka on 6th April 2020, Maduakolam Nwoguzo on 14th May, 2020 and Alozie Amadi on the 4th June, 2020, by Chijioke Onyeze aka Bracket, and his gang members as well as the killing of the said BRACKET in an operation around the Ohaji forest by the operatives of the 34 Field Artillery Brigade, Obinze, the SARS operatives were charged to fish out other members of the dreaded gang.
In collaboration with the operatives of the Command’s Counter terrorist personnel (CTU), the SARS operatives arrested one Edwin Ogbuji “m” aged 33yrs old and one Priscilla Sani “f” aged 42yrs of Ihie in Ohaji/Egbema LGA, Imo state. Edwin Ogbuji has confessed to being a member of the gang and who ran errands for Bracket.
Also, Priscilla Sani was used by the gang in sending money and other logistics including information to Bracket in his hide out. The arrested suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigation into the case is completed.
The Police in the State also Smashed another Notorious Kidnap/Armed Robbery Syndicate, It could be recalled that in an armed robbery and kidnap incidents around Concorde Hotel area in Owerri in December 2019, where three American returnees were robbed and kidnapped, four members of the gang were arrested while others fled. On 19th day of June, 2020 at Eliozu Road, Obiakpor LGA of Rivers state, operatives of the Command’s SARS upon discreet investigation arrested one UWALAKA FAVOUR AKA SYMPATHY “M” 28 yrs of Asa, and HENRY AJAWARA “M” 36 yrs of Awara, both in Ohaji/Egbema LGA of Imo state.
In the course of the arrest, the gang engaged the operatives in a gun duel but they were subsequently arrested with bullet wounds. They have confessed to the crime, stating that they wore military camouflages for the operation.
They further confessed that while Henry Ajawara carried AK47 rifle during the operation, Favour aka SYMPATHY provided detention facility for the victims.
It is important to state that Uwalaka Favour, wears female pants for protection based on the directive of their native Doctor.
